- 1Drive by a modern air-conditioned vehicle to Wadi El-Natrun, the actual birthplace for Christian monasticism. Basically, there were about 50 monasteries, only 4 have survived into modern times. Begin your trip with Deir al-Baramus which is the oldest of the surviving 4 monasteries, and in many ways the most isolated, then proceeds to Deir Anba Bishoi whose body is still in the monastery. End your trip visiting Deir El-Suryani which is the smallest and most compact of the 4 monasteries. For pick up / drop off form Cairo airport, Sphinx airport, New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, Helioplis, Badr City, Shorouk, Rehab, Obour, Sheraton Almatar, Sheikh Zayed city or Madinty City will be for additional cost

Dalia, our guide, was brilliant as we toured the pyramids of Meidum, El Fayoum and Hawara, explaining this part of Egypt's history superbly; and Dalia was a lot of fun too. Ahmed our driver was excellent, both in the crazy traffic of Cairo and as he navigated us to these little-advertised sites; and Ahmed was fun too. They both made the day very special and we were delighted to share our super experience with them. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants an adventure exploring beyond the well-visited sites of Cairo. The office were helpful regarding meeting arrangements, and thank you for the extra information about Ramadan.
