          Get on the boat!
Sumyah was an excellent travel guide. She arrived early to pick us up and patiently waited for us to come down. She engaged in great conversation about her life and Egypt. She made us feel welcome in Egypt. Sumyah is a great asset to this company. When we go back to Egypt we will ask for her by name. We trust her and she was just all around amazing!!! The boat ride, food and entertainment was pretty good and fun

Sakkara & Dahshur Pyramids transport you back to ancient Egypt.
The Sakkara Necropolis and the Dahshur Red & Bent Pyramid complexes transport you back in time to ancient Egypt. Our expert tour guide Hossam brought so much of the history to life. Ali our driver travelled the backstreets and the country roads to and from the Pyramids, giving us an insight daily Cairo life too! The contrast of the old and the new makes this tour special.

Alexandria worth visiting but not by car from Cairo
Our driver Mathmood was punctual and made every effort to communicate with us using Google translator. We picked our guide in Alexandria and she was excellent. Spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable. Both stayed with us during the whole time in Alexandria. I will recommend visiting Alexandria while cruising and not driving 5 hrs round trip from Cairo.

We had a great time on this full day tour and saw some really nice places. Our guide Hakiem is a great guy. He gave us information, collected fossils and did his best to make sure we had fun and had a great time everywhere! The tour is completely personalized so your experience is much better. We loved Wadi El Rayan and Wadi El Hitan! I will come back for camping! Thanks for everything!

We felt very comfortable with this guide who took us on a tour of the museum, Kalili souk and. Citadel.
Adham was a very enthusiastic guide full of knowledge. He helped us navigate the huge Old Museum which could have been overwhelming otherwise.

          Exceeded our expectation
We are so glad we booked this excursion :-). We were staying in Giza, and booked through Emo Tours. Haitham(guide) and Bop(driver), picked us up promptly at our Hotel, it took us on the 2-hour drive to get there. Haitham was very knowledgeable about the history and facts about All of the areas that we experienced on the way there and back from the tour, as well as at the Valley of the Whales. Our highlight was definitely the 4x4 drive through the desert to see all of the scenery. The lakes were stunning! The tour felt very personalized and we would highly recommend it!

We went on the full day trip to the great pyramids, Dahshur, Sakkara, and Memphis with Syed Mahmood as our guide and Ashwar as our driver. Also, although I was asked to write the review during the trip, I am actually writing it after and will give my honest opinion.

Overall, I was very happy with the trip and with Syed as our guide. I usually don't like to take guided tours, but I think this was a great decision. I was able to make it to more places with this tour than I would have been able to on my own, and it was mostly because Syed made everything so much more efficient. He knew all of the best places to take pictures and was great at helping us avoid all of the salesmen near the sites. And although we were able to do a lot, he also never rushed us, made sure we took as long as we wanted at each site, and made sure that we were happy before moving on. Also, because he knew people at all of the sites, he was able to make sure we didn't get rushed out of any of anywhere when places started to close. To top it all off, he had no trouble answering all of our obscure questions and regularly gave us information about things we would have probably not noticed if we had visited the sites on our own. So overall we had a very relaxing adventure with a very friendly guide and driver. I really couldn't ask for more. I would definitely recommend this tour to others who want to have a good and relatively relaxing experience while hitting a lot of sites in one day.

The only things I would advise are to buy the separate ticket (for entrance into one of the great pyramids) on your own, not through the Emo, and maybe also to take lunch elsewhere. The lunch itself tasted fine and the atmosphere was cool, but the drinks (separate) were a bit pricier than in other restaurants and it was less food than usual (especially the meat portions) for a restaurant meal in Egypt.

Great driver and guide (Sohaib), really kind and generous. We felt really safe and relaxed during the tour. We actually visited ALL the pyramids located around Cairo.

However, the guide asked us to pay the entrance fees of the museum with credit card, who gave us in cash instantly after. They explained it was due to the fact that cash is not accepted in museums and monuments. They should have informed us before the tour or they could have excluded the entrance fees since the beginning.

Our driver/tour guide, Ahmed, was fabulous!! This is the best tour I’ve taken on vacation. Ahmed, knew that we had limited time at each destination and made sure we saw the spots that were worth seeing. He was super patient with us and made sure that we got to see what we wanted to see. We appreciated his honesty and sincerity! He also made sure to take us to get bottled water at a more affordable area. We would definitely highly recommend Ahmed!

Interesting tour and great sights, and the time was sufficient to see everything.

Unfortunately, our guide was not satisfactory.
He seemed overtired, which is something you can basically overlook, especially during fasting (Ramadan), but a certain lack of enthusiasm on his part was evident throughout the entire tour. He did the tour in German for the second time, so we eventually switched to English, as we speak a lot of English both professionally and privately and had no problem with that. Depending on your English skills, this can of course be problematic for some people on a tour booked in German.

Before the first stop, we were asked whether we had a credit card that the guide could borrow. Of course, we said no - for obvious reasons. As he didn't have a credit card himself, only EGP (cash), he couldn't buy the tickets at the counter (they don't accept cash) and wanted to give us the entrance fee in cash. This ultimately meant that at almost every stop we had to wait until another guide took pity on us and allowed us to buy additional tickets and buy them from us in cash. At the Pyramids of Giza, this took almost 30 minutes!

We were also spontaneously taken on a "tour" through a carpet factory, without prior consultation. Once we got there, we were shown the steps involved in making the carpet for a few minutes and assured that the children only had to work on it for 20 minutes at a time. After that, a sales pitch began, which we luckily got out of pretty quickly.

All in all, the stops on the tour were really well planned, the driver was always there on time (and also answered our questions about life in Egypt). Unfortunately, our guide was not satisfactory. A lot of information was mixed up, it seemed as if he had simply learned the sentences in German by heart, as he was usually unable to answer questions.

Conclusion: Good tour to see all the pyramids and the Sphinx in one day. Time was also good. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the guide and would therefore choose a different tour operator than Emo Tours next time, as we were also disappointed with our tour of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (duration of just 1 hour, although stated as 4 hours).

We have this tour guide name Ihab, at first he is very nice & informative about the tour and his work.

He helped us to take good pictures.

The only very negative experience we had is that, he took us in a egyptian restaurant/event place, for lunch. The food are average but very expensive. It cost us 1000 egyptian pound per person plus tips and taxes. In which you can pay this kind of meal in a 5 star hotel restaurant with a same price and good service.

After lunch, he directly took us in a papyrus store, like you're obliged to buy a product that is overpriced.

Next he took us to an essential store, with the same story, we are obliged to listen to the sales pitch and buy a product.

Next he took us in a bazaar/souq, and we expect that it will be like a many souvenir stores to choose. But it is only 1 shop with an overpriced product. We knew that it overpriced because when we arrive in luxor, the shops here have a very cheaper price, with same product and same quality like it's a 10 times the price from this shop.

Then at the end of the trip, we told him that we want to go back to hotel, but he insisted to go to another clothing store.

All of this time wasted in those shops, not included in the itenerary. It burns us down.
We get really tired and money wasted for nothing.

I recommend this tour but should decline all the shops that the tour guide is offering you.

First of all: we had the best driver you could imagine. Super smooth and safe and fast driving although Cairo has a terrible traffic situation.

The guide was 45 min late without any real reason. In this time we tried to contact the company but nobody could help us.

The the guide wanted to do a different tour than we booked, because he was informed wrong by EmoTours. It took us half an hour to make sure he would do the right one. When we finally arrived at the first stop we waited round about 20 min more in the queue than necessary without a real reason. When we finally arrived at the entrance to the pyramid, we could not enter, because they had their lunchbreak there. During all this the Guide told in very bad english something about the places. He was unable to answer many questions we had. To make a long story short: we missed half of the places the tour told us.

During the day we started contacting EmoTours and asked them for help. A Serviceman told us he would "call back in half an hour" but he did not in three. In the End, after many frustrating tries they refunded us 30% of the price although the tour was so bad, it should had been 80% minimum.

This was our first experience in Egypt and perhaps the worst experience. Our guide Fatima was not interested in being our guide or helping us have a good time. All that she wanted from us was a tip. This was the first sentence she told us when we entered the car. That’s when I knew it would be a bad time.
        1. She tried to charge us 1000EGP for a horse ride at the Panorama point for the Giza pyramids when we were literally offered the ride for 300EGP by the horse man. She made sure she pressurised the horse rider in Arabic to make sure we would not get the ride at the previously quoted price.
        2. We wanted to spend more time at the Great Pyramid but were rushed and only after we put our foot down we were allowed to spend some time there.
        3. We were taken to the Memphis and Saqqara temples where we were charged 50 EGP per bottle of water. The standard price is 10 EGP.
        4. We wanted to spend some time at the step pyramid which we were not allowed.
        5. We were persuaded to not go into the pyramid in Dahshur saying it was bad and not worth it all because our tour guide wanted us to hurry up and let her go home.
        6. Kept hounding us to buy a kartoosh with our name on it for around $30 per kartoosh.
We felt that the lady was not really interested in showing us around but just wanted to con us out of money at the tourist traps of the Papyrus factory, horse ride, camel ride, etc. All this after spending around ÂŁ100 on the one day trip which would perhaps have been much cheaper had I booked it locally.

        Pathetic experience!
Quality of guide and overall knowledge of history needs lot of improvement.
We booked guided tour but ended up paying extra everywhere, thanks to our guide for this !

Just got headline information which is available on google as well on one click , waste of money spend on guided tour.
Not on a single occasion we feel that we are with guide and guide is providing us insights on history

The whole visit was done in a hurry and the 8h scheduled was not kept. For example, in Giza we stayed very little time there and our guide spent the remaining time taking us to places that were not included in the itinerary, in order to buy products from people he knew. He also charged us a lot more for the camel ride. The explanations given by the guide are the general information that anyone can find on the internet. In our opinion, this tour can very well be done without guide while taking ubers / taxis to move.

Since I had a hearty breakfast, I skipped lunch, but it was a wonderful day tour with a skilled driver, a kind guide, and clear skies. The trip started at 8:00 from the hotel near Cairo Airport, and we efficiently went around Sakkara, Dahshur, Memphis City, and finally Giza. During the trip, we were able to see the scenery of Cairo city, and the guide gave us detailed explanations, so we were very satisfied. The sun is strong this season, so you may need to wear sunglasses.
