About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- aspoe0930 contributionsGreat street with wonderful mosquesWe had an Uber drop us off at the Bab-al-Fouton gates and strolled down the street. It was a busy street with markets and amazing mosques. The mosques were enjoyable. We didn't visit all of them as some charged to get into. Incredible sights thoughWritten 20 January 2025

- ferozam0 contributionsCaptivating CairoTravelled to Egypt, June 2021 - had an amazing trip. Sylvia Tours were absolutely fabulous. Extremely efficient from our arrival through to hotel check ins, organized tours, transfers, in fact all ground arrangements. Special Mention : Ayman Rashad as tour manager who was such a blessing. He was extremely efficient, timeous, professional & such a gentle soul. Ayman was such a pleasure to work with, organized every aspect of our schedule strategically to ensure a balance of touring, leisure time, rest & self exploration. He is a wealth of information, tips & recommendations. Thank you Ayman Our Tour Guide Bassem Wagdy, was quite possibly the most knowledgeable & entertaining tour guide, we’ve had the fortune to have, throughout our travels in Europe, the States, Far East & Australia. An Egyptologist with a wealth of knowledge. His in-depth knowledge of all religions, Christianity, Islam & Judaism & their links within Egyptian history is mind blowing. His guided tours of ancient Egyptian kingdoms within the museum, at pyramids or general feedback, provide factual background, contemporary references & analogy, entertaining references which had our teens as riveted as the adults. We did pyramid tour, museum, citadel, souk, Islamic Egypt & Coptic Egypt tours. Between Ayman & Bassem, our trip to Cairo was just perfect, not 1 negative experience & made for fabulous lifelong memories.Written 5 July 2021
- ukienomad0 contributionsNot your typical bazaar type streetMode street is the oldest street in Egypt. Great place to stroll past the ancient minarets, domes an bazaars. It’s a densely packed neighborhood, which had locals and tourists mingling in the street. The bazaars are not your typical tourist bazaars and a unique experience. The locals were so friendly and there were a lot of children running around and interacting with us. We really enjoyed our time here. They have some good local spots to try typical Egyptian food.Written 16 February 2020
- Sherif I0 contributionsEl Moez Street: Walking into the rich history of Islamic Cairo.Islamic Cairo is a sprawling area in heart of the city that could take days to explore; but if you don't have the luxury of time, I recommend taking a walk down the winding, narrow and very vibrant “El Moez” … end it by a nice kebab meal in the neighborhood or, depending on the time of the day, the Tanoora [colorful skirts] show. El Moez is well known and central, so no problem getting there. The street itself is pedestrian, so you will be dropped off at one of its ends. There are guided tours, and there on-your-own tours, which I believe are better. Once you’re there, just start walking, mingle with the environment and make sure you do these 5 stops… at least: 1. Sabeel Abdel Rahman – 2. Khan El Khalili – 3. Beit El Seheimy museum – 4. Sultan Barqouq mosque and school – 5. Khayameia Heritage –Written 2 July 2019
- stefanprisacariu0 contributionsInterestingYou can see the egyptian life, blend in the culture of the people here. Nice arhitecture on the mosques and some buildings. but also dirt and noise, like in all Cairo.Written 25 September 2018

We had a wonderful day touring Islamic Cairo. Our guide, Zizou, took us on a walking tour inside the walls of the Citadel. The mosques, shops, restaurants, and coffee houses were bustling with activity. It was fantastic walking through all of this. We were so happy we did this tour so that we could see how the Islamic people of Cairo really live. The buildings were so beautiful, and the people were so friendly and inviting. Afterwards, Zizou took us to his favorite restaurant to experience true Egyptian cuisine. I must mention the driver, Mohammed! Being able to negotiate the hectic Cairo traffic is truly a skill, and he mastered it flawlessly!! It was an amazing day and a great way to end of trip to Egypt. Thank you so much
