What to expect
  • After hotel pickup in Seoul, your tour starts with the drive to Imjingak Park to see the Freedom Bridge, a symbol of the tragedies of the Korean War.  Then head toward the Korean Demilitarized Zone to visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, which the North Korean Army used to infiltrate South Korea. With a provided helmet, you can walk down to the tunnel, and then you'll have time to browse the DMZ Exhibition Hall to see displays of old weapons, a short film about Korea's history, and other information about the Korean War. Next, visit Dora Observatory for a view of North Korea, which you can see using the onsite telescopes aimed at the propaganda village, and then continue to Dorasan Station, the last station before the border with North Korea, where you can get a souvenir stamp that mimics an immigration stamp. Good to know the history of the DMZ. You can enter in the tunel that was bild by the North Korea and see all the history about the how North Korea tries to enter South Korea.

Although the DMZ was closed we are very happy with our tour. A big thanks goes out to our golden guide Kim.
Early pick-up in the frosty morning brought serenity to our visit at Freedom Bridge. I feel privileged to have seen and heard some of the stories that makes this place so unique to not only Korea's history but by and large also to the rest of the world.

The observatory and the view over the river into North Korea was a surreal experience. Here we are sipping cappuccino in the cold while watching farmers world's appart tilling away just across the river...

All in all a very humbling experience. A reminder of why it is crucial to remember our history.

I only wish we would have had more time to read, watch and reflect on each location.

Unfortunately the proper DMZ was closed at the time we visited, but it didn't really affect our feeling about the tour. Another unfortunate occurrence was that is was very foggy that day, so we couldn't really see the North in any defined way. The tour despite these setbacks was very pleasant. They picked us up right from the hotel and transferred us to a relatively small bus of about 10 people. This small tour size allowed the guide to really go in depth with each topic, and also let every question be answered. The first location was the Imjingak park, which was fascinating and had some very nice photo spots, although there were some places you couldn't take pictures. The next location was a tower with a good viewpoint towards the North, although we couldn't make out any proper details. The building was very nice, a shame we couldn't see out of the observation deck properly. Our detour involved the Korean war museum, which was filled with so much information it was impossible to take in it all. The tour was timed very well, and the guide was very nice and helpful. Would recommend this tour, hopefully whoever goes is there when the DMZ is open and it isn't too foggy! You'll have a great time regardless.

We really enjoyed our day with this tour even though the DMZ was closed due to the swine flu but the alternative route was just as good and informative. Our guide was super organized and gave us enough time at each area. She also gave us good tips on where to eat after the trip reached its final destination. Highly recommend!

We loved this tour and our guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional! His English was perfect. He was so awesome, we affectionately referred to him as our “history teacher”. The tour was still very enjoyable and fulfilling even though the DMZ was not open. We had a wonderful time and learned a lot about Korean history! Don’t hesitate to book this tour!

The DMZ was still closed due to the African swine flu so I did the alternative tour. Which was great and Peter who was the host was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, due to the heavy fog we couldn’t see anything into North Korea, which was at no fault to the tour. For the price it was worth it, but it was bad luck, for it to be closed, then go on a day with heavy fog.
