Overview
The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) lies on the border between North and South Korea, and visiting outside of a guided tour is not allowed. On this tour, explore the DMZ with your guide and gain insight into Korean War history. Take in sites of interest including the 3rd Tunnel and the Dora Observatory in safety, with entrance fees plus pickup and drop-off in central Seoul included.
What to Expect
After hotel pickup in Seoul, your tour starts with the drive to Imjingak Park to see the Freedom Bridge, a symbol of the tragedies of the Korean War.
Then head toward the Korean Demilitarized Zone to visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, which the North Korean Army used to infiltrate South Korea. With a provided helmet, you can walk down to the tunnel, and then you'll have time to browse the DMZ Exhibition Hall to see displays of old weapons, a short film about Korea's history, and other information about the Korean War.
Next, visit Dora Observatory for a view of North Korea, which you can see using the onsite telescopes aimed at the propaganda village, and then continue to Dorasan Station, the last station before the border with North Korea, where you can get a souvenir stamp that mimics an immigration stamp.
Make your way back to Seoul at this point, passing by Unification Village and stopping at the Korean Ginseng Center before drop-off at Seoul City Hall, where your tour ends.

One of the highlights of my Korea trip

Almost skipped this, and glad I didn't. While we didn't get to go to the JSA, which is closed at the moment, the overall tour gives a great history and background of the two Koreas and how things came to be in their current state....More

This was a tour that my husband wanted to take, and I'm glad we took it. I had a deeper appreciation for the history of Korea. The tour guide was very informative. The pick-ups and drop-offs were very timely to and from the tour location....More

Great experience

This is the second time I’ve gone to the DMZ and the first time was better because we also could go to the JSA. It’s closed now due to peace talks. The DMZ is a must see place with great historical significance

Thank Gpug

The only reservation I might have is if you wanted to explore the third tunnel. It's quite an incline down and then back up, and depending on how tall you are, you have to bend because the tunnel is low. I don't even know if... More

You could get the airport shuttle to one of the city hotels (I stayed in Myeongdong and my pickup point was there, I got the 6001 bus from the airport to my hostel, so that's one idea), and get picked up - the pickup time is... More
