- Fearless584683482290 contributionsDMZ tour review (Erica)Had a very insightful and informative tour with Erica Kim! Would definitely recommend her for her strong command of English too!Written 14 October 2024
- pjrockpalma190 contributionsBest Korean tour experience with Erica the tour guideThe whole tour was a complete package! You will get to learn history and appreciate the efforts of the Korean people to reunify the north and south. Erica, the tour guide who hates her own kid and is a fan of rice, is the best one for this. She made the tour more fun and insightful. Really recommended to avail this tour and tell the agency to book with her.Written 13 October 2024
- CaymanGreg0 contributionsDMZ private tourWe went on private tour with felicity and she was awesome. Arrived at the hotel early for our pick up and off we went. Schedule got modified which was communicated clearly as you can’t go into the DMZ in a private tour and need to join a bus tour - she organized everything and kept up commentary all tour. Highly recommend a private tour and request felicity!Written 13 October 2024
- Curious063731468270 contributionsBest DMZ tourWith the ever changing political climate and tensions between the north and the south, our guide Erica Kim brought us through a very engaging and eye opening tour of the DMZ, she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and have catered to all of our needs.Written 13 October 2024
- Travelutioneer0 contributionsA good doze of the DMZGreat tour. Charles did a great job from start to end in giving everyone a memorable experience visiting the DMZ. The start of the tour looked chaotic at first, but there was order to the madness and everyone was picked up and the tour started on time. The tour’s first stop was a visit to the observation tower that gave a good view into North Korea. This was followed by a stop at Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri Park. The tour went into the DMZ after that and the last stop was the third tunnel, which was quite a workout. I highly recommend the tour to anyone that wants to get a glimpse into the geopolitical history of the Korean peninsula.Written 12 October 2024

Biggest eye-opener of day was at observatory looking at infrastructure in North Korea (or lack of) compared to South Korea. - jacobpB2029SQ0 contributionsWell Organized TourThis was a well organized and thorough tour of the DMZ. Our guide Erica Kim was very knowledgeable and friendly. She did a great job telling the history and story of the DMZ, and did a great job handling the small bumps and snafus that happen on tour trips. If you want to have a better understanding of the DMZ from a Korean perspective, I would recommend this tour.Written 12 October 2024

Amazing visit had been made. Interesting things to see around Hwaseong Fortress and lovely views at Korean Folk Village Tour. Our tour guide Youn is very professional to provide hospitality during our visit. For overall view, it is a wonderful journey instead.

This tour was really enjoyable and interesting. We did it early in our trip to Korea and our guide, Jason, gave us so much information about Korean history and culture that was really valuable for the rest of our trip. Jason was fantastic and really knowledgeable.
We got to wander around both the fortress and the village. We tried archery at the fortress. My son’s favourite was the traditional festival dancing at the folk village. I liked the folk museum display. The traditional lunch was great.

We had a great fun on our tour thanks to an amazing guide Yeoni. I learned a lot about history and architecture of Korea while visiting Hwaseong Fortress & Korean Folk Village. The lunch was perfectly organized because in very friendly atmosphere we could taste traditional Korean cuisine prepered by highly talented chef.

I was very excited to join this tour and happy they tour operator could accommodate me as a single traveler and go along with another group. The fortress itself is rather nothing that spectacular if I'm honest. The show at the palace was very good and happy to see that along with how they lived in the past. The folk village was very interesting, but extremely disappointing the tour guide cut the time short. Much more time was needed there because after lunch, there was plenty to explore. The guide said we were suppose to go to one more destination, but they cancelled the tour early due to traffic excuse, so effectively what was meant to be an entire day, was only 3/4 of a day. I would suggest just take the train to the village and spend a day there, especially if you have a family.

We took this full day tour. The pick up from the Hotel was exactly on time. A small group of only 8 of us in the mini van with a Guide. We were not satisfied with the Guide. She had limited knowledge about the fortress and the temporary Palace. She was visiting the Fortress after one year! The tour includes the 'trolley in the fortress', as it is a vast area and would be very tiresome to cover all the grounds on foot. The surroundings and the grounds are lush green and well maintained. (if you are on your own, do check the free 'shows/acts' that they have; inquire at the ticket counter). The Palace is a small one, as it was a temporary one of the King. Though well maintained and clean. The trolley tour around the fortress has the facility of a commentary in 4 languages. But you have to bring your own ear plug.
The fortress grounds are in the city itself and the fort is not an independent / self enclosed within wall boundaries. City roads run in and around the fort boundary walls.
The Korean Folk Village is a must visit. (in the Suwan township). About 15 - 20 minutes drive from the fort. It has been built as a tourist attraction about 40 yrs back. And interesting to visit. Do not miss the free local dance shows and other performances. When we visited, the time was between 2 pm to 4 pm. With a performance every half hour. Our Guide did not permit us to see all the shows. Which was very disappointing and sad. As after this, it was a visit to the Ginsen showroom in Seoul city. Which can be missed or shortened. If you are on this tour, insist to see the shows from 2 pm to 330pm.
The local cuisine lunch at Suwan was good. I had a local veg dish - bibimbap. It was better here than the one I had in Seoul.
The Ginsen showroom in Seoul is of a local business house. A very posh and lavish office building and showroom. The interesting part of this visit was getting knowledge and understanding of the Ginsen medicinal plant, as to, how it is grown and its various varieties. It is an expensive product. So, I feel, one should do an independent research as to where to buy from and what brand. At the airport we saw that Samsung also sells Ginsen. An enjoyable day. Though it was a warm day in Seoul
