5-days hiking tour to Svaneti is a good combination of outdoor activities with cultural sightseeing. We visit all major destinations in Svaneti and take small hiking trips into the wild nature. A unique blend of mountains scenery and local traditional architecture and traditions creates a majestic fairy-tale for visitors. Svaneti region is probably the most beautiful places in Georgia, and a hike in Svaneti is the vacation of a lifetime. Crowning Georgia’s northern border, Svaneti is a truly majestic place where vivid green alpine meadows nestle against vast forest areas and snow-covered mountains. Here is located one of the highest peaks of Caucasus mountains (Shkhara 5,201 m; Janga 5,059m), medieval-type villages and tower-houses. This tour is for visitors wanting to relax in the wild nature but also not to take long and difficult outdoor activities.

- Best period for a hike in Georgia is the period of May-October. We operate this tour for the whole year, but in winter due to weather restrictions tour agenda may be slightly changed by us. Svaneti has plenty of hiking routes and it is possible to extend the tour into a long hiking trip. On your wish, you also can try a horse-riding with an experienced guide.
- This holiday involves a considerable amount of walking and may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.

April is actually not the best weather for hiking but we were really lucky. Only on the last day we had a bit of rain in the last few minutes. Instead of trekking to Ushguli from Mestia, we did 'day treks' from Mestia and Ushguli. We not only visited the major 'highlights' of Ushba Waterfall, Koruldi Waterfall, Chkhutnieri Pass, Sakhara Glacier and Chalaadi Glacier, Dito (can't ask for a better driver/guide) also took my kids and climbed a couple of the peaks near Mestia and Ushguli. Everything went smoothly and there is no issue at all (the autumn colours is a bonus!). I have no qualms about recommending TrekGeorgia.Written 29 October 2023

The perfect combination of incredible hiking, great food, and laughter! The day started off with some clouds in the morning, but just as we got up to the glacier, the clouds parted and we got an awe-inspiring glimpse of Mount Kazbeg. The remote villages and mountains in Tusheti were pristine and we loved the hiking, but the highlight was the warmth of the people and the incredibly delicious food (and the cha cha). We had the perfect guide. An expert hiker who was very focused on our safety at all times, and he also gave us insights to the Georgian culture which made us fall in love with the country and its people. I had been wanting to do something like this for years, and TrekGeorgia did not disappoint. The hiking was a lot of fun, the views were incredible, the villages were beautiful and had so much history, the guest houses were great and our hosts were friendly and accommodating, and we ate so much amazing food. - RPHK0 contributionsFantastic Horse Trekking Experience in TushetiOne week horse trekking in Tusheti - private tour with a friend. The trip was easy to organise through Dmitri. The guide, Tina, is a Tusheti local and it was a very special experience exploring the region with her - she explained history, culture and customs in as much detail as you'd like and is a fantastic host. The horses are forward going, but very good natured and the terrain and route has something to suit all riders. We have done several horse treks in different parts of the world - this was a very special experience and I'd highly recommend.Written 20 September 2023
