For a smaller country, Samoa has a rich and complex history. Whether you’re a Samoan history buff or not you’ll learn a new chapter of the Samoan story on this guided tour of Apia. The tour begins at the sacred burial grounds of the chiefly families of Samoa and travels via German and British colonial historical sites to the former home of Treasure Island author Robert Louis Stevenson, which is now a museum.
What to Expect
After pick up from your hotel the tour will start at  Mulinu’u the sacred burial grounds of the chiefly families of Samoa followed by a viewing of Parliament House, Independence Monument, Lands & Titles Court, the German Monument (where the German flag was raised) and onto the landing site of the first Catholic Missionary to Samoa. The Tour then continues through the University of the South Pacific Agricultural Campus where cross breeding of varieties of crops are experimented (drive through campus). You will then stop at the Moamoa Theological College to view a very old church with exquisite stained glass windows. The last stop on the tour is at Robert Louis Stevenson’s former home which is now a museum. Set in magnificent gardens and housing artifacts from the period when he was residing in Samoa the colonial style house has a lot of history and very interesting stories are told by the guides. You will enjoy walking around and absorbing the atmosphere of times gone by.

Excellent Introduction to Apia, Samoa

We enjoyed this half-day tour of Apia, Samoa, which was an excellent introduction to this fascinating country and culture. Thomas (our driver) was excellent, and very accommodating (considering we were a 2 x person tour group, when the minimum is usually 4 people).

Very dissapointing. You can do this for free.

You work hard to go on an overseas holiday. I scrimped and saved to take my kind daughter who was turning 20 on a magical, special day that she wouldn't forget. Well, it didn't turn out like that. After emailing this company, no reply. I...More

Enjoyed the Manono Island Day Tour

We thoroughly enjoyed a day tour to Manono Island with Samoa Scenic. Our guides, Siluano and Brendan, were really informative about the history, people, culture and environment and did a great job answering lots of questions.
