Roger was an excellent and patient teacher despite my lack of coordination and the language barrier. I learnt heaps with him in a very short amount of time, highly recommend!

Thanks to José for the excellent classes while I was in Bogotá for a few weeks. He was able to provide a good explanation of Salsa styles, music, and technique that were catered to my skill level. Classes were fun, challenging and energetic!

I bought 11 hours of private dance lessons with this academy. I was lucky to have two amazing professors, Wilquer and José, teaching me bachata, dominican bachata, salsa on 1 and cuban salsa. The two were extremely professional and knowledgeable. In these 11 hours my dancing level has increased a lot! I am so happy I chose this academy! If I come back to Bogota, I would definitely come back!

We took a 5 hour package with sessions spread across a week. Jose came to our apartment building to teach. Jose is a fun instructor and communicated instructions in english as we were not fluent in spanish. He demonstrated all the steps and moves and encouraged us to ask questions throughout the course. Jose was very patient and mindful of our strengths and weakness in his lesson plans for us. He arrived 5 minutes ahead of time to the venue and we used our phone to play music during the lesson and to record videos to practice after. Would definetly recommend taking salsa lessons with Jose!

José was informative. He explained how to listen to the instruments to dance on-2. And he provided music for me to practice in my own time.

I had private classes with José and I really enjoyed them. In 6h I got some important basic steps that allows me to dance in social dancing. He pays great attention that our steps are understood, correctly integrated and in rhythm. The schedule is flexible to our convenience and is respected. I highly recommend his classes.

I have been taking online salsa lessons with Jose Manuel for several months during the lockdown due to covid. We meet by Zoom once or twice a week for one hour per session. I record the lesson on my computer, and then review it throughout the week while practicing. Jose Manuel will also on request record a short demo video and send it to you. Jose Manuel's instruction is superb. He puts great emphasis on body movement, which I was having difficulty learning myself through online videos. Jose Manuel does a great job of teaching in "layers". For example, first, you learn a basic Suzie-Q, and then he builds many variations, and then you go back to your original Suzie-Q and integrate more body movement. Jose Manuel is very quick to return messages and responsive to your feedback. For example, initially, we were learning 4-5 moves per lesson, but this was a bit too fast a pace for me given what I could dedicate, so we scaled back to 2-3 moves, which has been much more manageable. Before each lesson, I usually send Jose Manuel a video of my practice, and he provides feedback in the next lesson. I find this service very helpful, because it ensures that you do not form bad habits. I highly recommend Jose Manuel for online salsa lessons for anyone in the United States - the quality of instruction will likely be significantly better than what you might find in your local area.

Jose did a wonderful job teaching me and my sister some salsa and bachata. He is patient and clear. He moves at exactly the right pace and knows so much about the types of dance. My only regret is not taking more time!! I will go back to Jose next time I’m in Bogota!

My sister and I were visiting Bogota from New York and wanted to learn some salsa. We went to the class at Zokalo Bar on Thursday and had an amazing time!! The teachers were incredibly helpful and patient (it was our first time dancing salsa) and the bar where the class was held has a great atmosphere. We then signed up for a private lesson for Salsa and Bachata and were so glad we did! Learned a lot of fundamental steps in a short period of time and had a lot of fun. Will definitely go here again next time I'm in Bogota.
