Salt Cathedral Zipaquira - Group tour and daily departure

Select Date and Travellers
USD 60.00
2 travellers
One of the mandatory points in your trip in Colombia, must be the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. This wonderful place, located just over an hour from Bogota, was chosen in 2007 as the First Wonder of Colombia. The design of the spaces inside the mine, the decoration, the lighting, the artistic pieces and the fact of being traveling a space nestled in the mountains, make this an unique and unforgettable experience. You also visit the town to take some pictures and then return to Bogotá.

If this were not enough, the trip to and from Zipaquirá will be decorated with the landscape of our plateau, which it will certainly make your day something simply magical.
  • Tour a Zipaquirá salt mine and see the carved Salt Cathedral
  • Meet your tour at a centrally located starting point
  • Entrance fees and audio guide are included
  • Enjoy a personalized experience with a maximum of 10 travelers
What to Expect
After meeting your group at a centrally located starting point, head to the Zipaquirá Salt Mine by vehicle. Once there listen to an audio guide (available in seven languages) or enjoy a guided tour in Spanish or English. Learn about the salt formation and mining processes, as well as the economic, cultural, and historical impact of salt to Colombia. Plus, explore the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, an underground Catholic church carved into the subterranean walls of a salt mine. At the end of the tour, you are returned to your original Bogota pickup location.

Thanks Tricia, you are welcome again. There are many other places worth in Bogota, the salt mine is one of them. We recommend 3-4 days in the capital, there are some options for foodies, artists, history and many other topics. Besides you mix with villa...More

I have mixed feelings about this "tour". It's really just transportation to Zipaquira with a Spanish-speaking driver (I missed that part when booking so make sure you read the description carefully). The driver was very pleasant and was provided me with Google Translate instructions, so...More

This tour is just ok. All you are getting is basically your transportation and entrance to the cathedral with an audio guide. Nothing more! Based on the description I was expecting the tour guide to be more involved and informative. We got picked up, dripped...More
