A day in history!
A day of lovely sights and trying to imagine some moments in history. The walk is full of surprises both created by nature and by humans. Truly a wonder at every step, the colours the stories the facts... the whole journey took me to a different world and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The weather was fabulous but I just felt we needed more time to explore more. Would love to go back another time to check every nook and corneršŸ˜Š

Truly Memorable
Thank you Anna-Lisa for your fantastic communication and arranging for us a truly memorable trip. Firstly we were collected from our hotel in Aqaba and driven the short distance to Wadi Rum where we thoroughly enjoyed our private sunset jeep safari. The overnight tented accommodation was surreal - en-suite luxury in the middle of the desert! The evening meal was unfortunately rather chaotic. Large groups pushed and shoved to get at the food, which was ridiculous as there was ample and a wide choice for all. The following day we were driven to Petra and had the most amazing tour with Sami. As said by others, his knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, Petra was infectious. He speaks excellent English, which was great for me as I suffer from slight hearing loss. Sami is also a whiz on the iPhone camera and took some super photos for us. Unfortunately we didnā€™t have the time (or energy!) to walk up to the monastery - but this just gives us the excuse to visit Petra again!

Incredible tailor made 4 night/5 day trip to Jordan
Wonderful tailor made adventure in Jordan. We booked with Anna Lise at SAS travel having read excellent TA reviews and were not disappointed. Spent 2 nights in Wadi Musa (Petra)Petra first. Petra is simply stunning. Our guide Sami (thank you Anna Lise for arranging Sami as our guide as requested as I know he is in demand!) gave us a 3 hour early morning tour at Petra and his enthusiastic passionate love for Petra shone through. We learned so much and were taken to high points and spectacular caves most visitors don't see without local knowledge. We then explored the rest of Petra returning the following morning for another visit before heading off with our wonderful driver Ahmad who was perfect throughout our trip. Onwards to Wadi Rum and a jeep safari and a delicious evening dinner. Squeezed in a camel ride in the morning before heading south to take the scenic route to the Red Sea via Aquaba. Floated at the dead sea (a fun and surreal experience - you cannot swim in your front!) Then drive up to Mount Nebo onwards to Ayios Georgina church at Madaba finally spent a night at a fabulous boutique hotel Locanda in Amman. Amazing trip. Professional from start to finish. Thank you Anna Lise.

Amazing!
Our vacation was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! We were met at the airport by our driver and tour guide Musa (more about him below). He had a nice car with A/C along with snacks and cold bottled water. He showed us the sites of Amman, then toured the Citedel and Theatre. We then drove to Petra. Petra was breathtaking! We checked into our hotel around 8pm and began our tour at 7am the next morning. We highly recommend more than one day at Petra, as we were unable to see it all in one day. Also depending on the time of year, it may be more pleasant to start touring during the early morning hours to avoid the afternoon heat. Our Petra guide was wonderful! Facilitatimg his unique perspective, Mamoun provided a wealth of information stemming from knowledge based both on his local ancestral heritage and applied education in archeology. We were grateful to receive such valuable information from someone so passionate about Petraā€™s true history. His insight provided the specific experience we sought to gain when planning this trip and I look forward to learning about future revelations as he continues to study Petraā€™s history. The following day we toured the vast and extraordinary landscapes of Wadi Rum, then drove to the Dead Sea, which was an incredible experience. The next day we toured Mount Nebo and St George Church. Musa was our guide and driver for the overall trip. I canā€™t convey with words in this review the impact he had on our vacation and experience in Jordanā€™s culture. While driving and site seeing, his emotional intelligence gave him the insight to provide a perfect balance of information and silence allowing us to take in the surrounding beauty. He was friendly, intelligent, funny, informative, and possessed an uncommon generosity of spirit which enhanced our experience. He is an amazing tour guide and now we consider him a friend. The company as a whole was amazing and we highly recommend this trip!

Fantastic trip of a lifetime
Anna Lisa was amazing with her quick responses & coordination of our itinerary. There were 3 of us traveling, my husband, myself & our adult daughter. The car was so comfortable as well & our guide Mosa is an excellent driver making us completely comfortable 100% of the time. Mosa Issa treated us as family & made sure we had everything we wanted. Each day he'd have drinks & snacks for us. We wanted to ride camels so he arranged for us to ride them in Wadi Rum in connection with our jeep tour. In Petra we had Sami give us the tour of the ancient Roman city. He was great with telling us of the different tombs and areas of interest. Mosa spent our last day taking us to Madaba, Mt. Nebo, Jerash & back to Amman for a wonderful Jordanian dinner. Mosa's wife made a beautiful shawl for us as well. He took us back to the airport & by then we felt so sad to leave him & will always remember Mosa as family.

Great Day in Petra on private tour with Sami
We wanted to have a private tour in Petra and did not exactly know which tour company and tour we should take - there are plenty of them. But then occasionally we came across this private tour. It had only 2 reviews but they were so good, that we decided to spend our day in Petra with the guide Sami. What should I say - it was a perfect decision. We were supposed to go to monastery and climb 900 steps :-) but we could already explore a bit Petra previous day so that Sami meant it would make more sense to enter Petra through the second entrance without going the whole way twice. We came over paths to the monastery which are not on the way of all crowds of the tourists and it was amazing. Sami knows so much about Petra and answers all the questions you can ever have. Did you know that app. 80% of Petra is still unexplored??? What we can see is just a very small piece of ancient city which was never abandoned. Sami gave us a mountain of interesting information - about history, archeology, culture, society, sustainability, tourism etc. etc. He showed us places which you can see only if you know Petra. We spend around 6 hours in Petra and enjoyed them 200%. Perfect tour, perfect guide, perfect day!

Fantastic day with the guide Sami at Petra
I just finished a wonderful tour of Petra with abn SAS tour guide named "Sami," a local whose English was that of a native-born speaker, and whose education includes study in both Jordan and the UK. Sami picked my 12-year old son and I up near the entrance, and proceeded to give us a hugely informative, entertaining, and very accessible account of Petra, its origins, its rise and decline, and much more. I learned so much about the Nabateans from him that I am how inspired to learn and read much more about them. Sami was great for me, a 52 year old college professor from the US, but he was also excellent with my 12-year old son, whose interest in history is obviously far less than mine, and whose patience for long historical discourses is limited (as it should be, at that age). He kept my son totally engaged throughout, telling stories and arranging for little activities that made the tour extremely entertaining for both of us, seperated as we are by 40 years. Our tour was a 4 hour trip through the main areas of Petra. Sami offered to take us up to the monastery, but my son was tired, and I thought better of it. Next time we'll do it, and we will hope that Sami is again available. I've used a fair number of tour guides over the years, but Sami was among the top 2%. He was courteous, respectful, never pushed any sales of tourist knick knacks, and was highly educated and coherent about his subject matter. He used to do tours all over Jordan, but now concentrates on Petra. Too bad; I would have loved to go all over the country with him. Perhaps I'll be able to persuade him next time I visit. Great, great trip.

Incredible
I booked the holiday for my husband's 50th birthday and we had the best time! Jordan is an amazing country and we felt safe and welcome during our time there. From being met at the airport to being dropped off, everything was well organised and enjoyable. Ahmed, our driver, was prompt and drove us brilliantly around his fabulous country. Petra was undoubtedly a highlight, brought to life by our guide Mahmoun, we hiked up to the monastery and the treasury overlook afterwards on our own - tiring but unmissable. Wadi Rum was stunning and the jeep ride another incredible experience. Even better was eating lunch with Richard Ayoade nd David Baddiel who were staying on the camp with us (watch out for a Travel Man Christmas special filmed in Jordan) Communication with Anna-Lisa was spot on and there were even a few extra special birthday touches. If you're in any doubt about Jordan or SAS travel, don't be just book it soon! We've made memories there we'll treasure forever

A very special trip
Had a fabulous time in Jordan. Our trip took us to Wadi Rum, Petra, Mount Nebo, the Dead Sea and Amman City with other stops on route. We were met at the airport by Sami who was our guide for most of our time in Jordan. His knowledge of Jordan helped to make the trip. Special moments for me were: Mount Nebo - it was emotional to stand in a place of such religious significance. Petra - nothing prepares you for your first view of the Treasury. The Dead Sea - a surreal experience floating on the water and great fun getting covered in mud! The people - friendly and welcoming everywhere we went. The organisation of our trip by Anna-Lisa was extremely efficient.

Perfect holiday
Just returned from a week of sightseeing and relaxation in Jordan. We were met by Sami at the airport who also was our guide through Petra. His enthusiasm and knowledge of his country was outstanding. Our first sight of the Treasury through the gorge brought tears to my eyes. The tombs, colonnade and the church which make up part of this ancient left me speechless!! Onto camping in Wadi Rum: glamping in Sun City campsite made this visit awesome alongside the scenery, the friendliness of everyone we met and the fabulous scenery is an experience I will never forget. We then had a couple of days relaxing at The Mƶvenpick hotel at the Dead Sea, which I can highly recommend. Also wading in the sea as well as lots of mud wrapping is awesome. Annalisa was so helpful and organized our holiday seemlessly. And Sami is the most knowledgeable guide I have ever met. Jordan is a country I will never forget, it is definitely a ā€œmust seeā€.

Fantastic visit to Jordan
Without wishing to repeat all that has been said before I cannot recommend SAS Travel, and especially Anna-Lisa, for the wonderful trip to Jordan. The pre journey information was of great assistance. From the moment we were picked up at the airport in Amman by Ahmed the trip was extremely well organised and all went according to plan. We also had Sami as our guide in Petra and would recommend you ask for him. Would recommend the walks to the Monastery and also the View point over the Treasury - well worth the effort albeit rather tortuous! I cannot praise our driver Ahmed enough. He was a true companion on our journey. Go to Jordan with SAS - you will not regret it!

Perfect arrangements and tour to Jordan
Thank you for all arrangements we had a wonderful time & can't quite believe why we haven't visited before! What a great friendly country stepped in history. We loved the Movenpick Hotel at the Dead Sea and thought we should have ended our stay in Jordan there with a 2 night stay! The Martian pods at Sun City didn't fail to impress. We really enjoyed out stay here & your request for us for front row worked!(Thank you) The stay at Petra the hotel was friendly & clean and they upgraded us to a larger rooms. We felt the the hotel was functional but added nothing special to the trip. Had an exceptionally great guide at Petra. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Ahmed our driver was friendly and attentive and took us on some very interesting routes so we could enjoy better scenery. He was also very flexible in fitting in with our timings. The citadel in Amman and the last days itinerary in Jerash and Ajloun were a total bonus to the trip and we loved every moment. I even bumped into a friend from Leeds at Jerash! Totally bazar! Thank you for your recommendations and help to make a holiday most enjoyable. Our daughter was quizzing us about our trip to Jordan so I will point her in your direction.

Two Days in Petra and Wadi Rum with Fantastic Guide
We arranged for a private tour of Petra and Wadi Rum with Sami. Making arrangements for the tour were easily done online. Sami offered good suggestions and was totally flexible in accommodating our requests. We met Sami at the Eilat/Aqaba crossing (getting across the border from Eilat was very simple). Sami ushered us through Jordanian customs (another simple process) and we took off for a drive to Petra. Sami is incredibly knowledgeable about Jordan, Petra, Islam, geology, history, and more. He answered our many questions and offered lots of valuable information to help us understand the country and its people. He has a great sense of humor, his English is flawless, his driving impeccable. We arrived in Jordan at about 4:30 pm, which allowed us to drive to Petra in daylight and see the country. Sami arranged for us to stay at the Old Village Hotel and Resort in Petra, which was an incredible place. It's located on the hills above "downtown" Petra where many other hotels are located, and the beautiful views are a big advantage. The hotel is either new or recently refurbished and was a luxurious place to stay. Sami drove us to a local restaurant for dinner, offered to help negotiate shopping for souvenirs, and arranged for our return to our hotel. The next morning Sami drove us to the entrance to Petra and was our guide for the day. He continued to be informative about everything we saw, matched his pace to ours, gave us options of additional things to see, helped us take great photos, and was overall a fantastic guide. After the day in Petra, Sami drove us to the Sun City Bedouin camp where we stayed the night, and toured Wadi Rum by jeep the next morning. Wadi Rum is spectacular, and more than just a jeep ride through the desert. We made several stops to walk up dunes, explore canyons with ancient writings on the walls, or climb large rock outposts for beautiful views. Sami then drove us back to the border crossing, indulging our request to stop at a local supermarket. Sami is a fantastic guide and we highly recommend him for a trip to Jordan.
