Overview
Visit the ancient city of Petra on a day trip from Eilat, with guides to take care of logistics so you can experience the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site hassle-free. You’ll enter Petra on foot or horseback, traveling through the winding 'siq' to the magnificent Treasury, then explore rock-cut architecture carved into soaring cliffs. Entrance fees, lunch, and transport are included, plus photo stops in the beautiful Jordanian desert.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your Eilat hotel for the trip to the Arava Border Crossing; border crossing times vary, and are beyond the control of the tour operator.

When you reach Jordan, transfer into climate-controlled vehicles and enjoy views of the low desert hills during the trip to Petra. Upon arrival, enter the UNESCO site through the siq, walking or riding a horse along the narrow path (required tips for the horseback ride not included).

Take in Petra highlights, from the soaring Treasury to rock cut tombs, then sample Jordanian cuisine before the return trip to Aqaba. While crossing the desert, stop to see the dramatic cliffs of Wadi Rum, and if time allows, pause for a tour of Aqaba, Jordan’s bustling Red Sea port. After crossing back into Israel, the day concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Worthwhile tour of Petra from Tel Aviv

This tour was an excellent way for a 64-year-old single woman to fulfill one of her bucket list items. Booking on-line was easy and my questions were promptly answered by the tour company. The tour bus picked us up in Tel Aviv at 4AM for...More
