- m2corbett0 contributionsWonderful guided tourArif arranged to have his colleague Erkan be our guide to Istanbul for two days. Erkan was outstanding--knowledgeable, engaging and funny. He really deepened our understanding of and appreciation for Istanbul. His addition to the pre-set tour stops were really marvelous. We covered an amazing amount of Istanbul in our two days with Erkan, and enjoyed every minute!Written 31 October 2018
- LouisaRo0 contributionsGreat Istanbul Tour!We arranged for two days of custom tours in Istanbul for four people. Arif was not personally available, but his associate Erkan did an amazing job. We saw so much of Istanbul in such a short time, and learned so much, it really enhanced our appreciation of Turkish history and culture. I would highly recommend the Istanbul tours, and Arif was very flexible about designing itineraries that suited our requests. Erkan, who was so funny and engaging, added several unexpected and delightful stops along the way that ended up being some of our favorite places.Written 27 October 2018
- Rochelle H0 contributionsPrivate day tour of IstanbulWe had a private date tour of Istanbul for a family of 4 including two children (ages 9 & 7). Our guide Hussain was incredibly patient as our kids didn't particularly enjoy the sites or walking in the heat, but we were determined to make the most of the 1 full day we had in istanbul. We went to the Blue mosque, Agia Sophia, to a traditional rug manufacturer, through the Grand Bazzar, stopped at the spice market for some great turkish delight and did the bospherous cruise. Personally I could have left off the cruise as you don't see too much but it was still enjoyable. It was a great way to see as much as possible in a short time and I would recommend over doing a larger group tour which would be hectic in the crowds.Written 4 September 2018
- Selda A0 contributionsCustom Grand Cultural Tour of Turkey June 20183 other couple friends of ours and us did a tour in Central and Western Turkey with Arif Yasa of Experta from June 14 to July 1 2018. We wanted to emphasize historical places as well as geographical beauty and of course the Turkish Cuisine. Our tour started in Istanbul with backstreet walks and sampling of Turkish delicacies, a visit to the incredible GrandBazaar before we flew off to Central Anatolia, the Capadoccia Region for a magical sunrise balloon ride, walks through the incredible Goreme valley and underground cities. The rest of our tour was on a comfortable van and we descended to the Mediterranean coast, doing a day on a boat in the beautiful Kekova region and tasting the delicacies of the area. Through the journey we stopped at incredible ruins in places like Aspendos, Patara, Xantos, Ephesus, Bergama.. two night on a boat in the famous Gocek region was incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We drove north to the charming village of Asos and then Troy; visited a couple of marvellous boutique wineries here before finishing our tour back in beautiful Istanbul. Even though it was a journey full of activities and places to see, Arif was very relaxed and flexible and we had a great time. Arif is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all of the historical places and heritage sites and it was great fun to listen to his stories from Homer's writings. He went beyond his normal duties to make us comfortable and to provide us with great information and insight. I would very strongly recommend his travel services and will be asking for assistance again in any future travels through Turkey.Written 5 August 2018
- dgibson5360 contributionsGrand Cultural Tour of Turkey June 2018My husband and I just finished a 15 day private tour of Turkey with Arif Yasa and 3 other couples. I would highly recommend this tour with Arif to anyone, especially if you can get 4 couples together. The tour included visiting numerous historical sites and varied cultural experiences. Arif is very personable and also very knowledgeable about the history of Turkey and its culture. If I decide to visit Turkey again I will definitely try to engage Arif as my tour guide! The tour included a bit of everything that Turkey has to offer; so much history and culture to experience. If this review sparks your interest and to really appreciate all that our tour included contact Arif and ask him for a copy of our tour!.Written 13 July 2018
- Chiantiti0 contributionsOne For The BooksI can't thank Arif enough for all the arrangements he did for me & my friend Rosa. He accommodated all my requests (no matter how trivial). I have traveled many places & countries but I have not had any tour expert more deserving of the title "expert". Great work ethics & incomparable knowledge of the place, its people, &history. His work ethics is just plain admirable. There were many favorite moments in this trip, it will be hard for me to choose! The tour was worth every penny. We only did not meet a tour guide, we made a friend in Arif!Written 23 March 2018
- rosaantes0 contributionsTurkey with Arif Yasa = safe, stress-free, informative, funWe only had two weeks to prepare for an 8-day visit to Turkey. My friend Lala found Arif on Trip Advisor, and what followed was pure bliss and stress-free arrangement. He was very professional and responded to emails in such a timely manner (don't you just hate it when tour guides put you on your toes and abated breath, wondering if things are being arranged!). He took us back in time, in his informative and yep, sometimes cheeky perspective about the unfolding of history in Istanbul, Ephesus, and Cappadocia. The hour-walk at Rose Valley was the best (well, okay, 2nd to the balloon ride) - when he was in his most relaxed manner, sharing personal views and experiences. A trip of a lifetime not wasted I must say.Written 14 March 2018
- ranselkecil0 contributionsA True ExpertWe had an 8-day trip to Istanbul, but wanted to have a one-day tour of all the Istanbul basics that can offer us more than the sights, but also stories. Arif Yasa is undoubtedly a seasoned expert in the history of the sights, and he answered all of our questions patiently. He is very patient, considering that we have a young children, and paced everything to our needs. He is also very open in negotiating which sights to go to, which we appreciated much. We wouldn't have seen Ortakoy on our own! The experience is smooth, informative, educative and pleasant. I would recommend Arif Yasa's company to my family and friends — truly dedicated team!Written 5 February 2018
- Edwina W0 contributionsAwesome layover tour by ArifMy sister and I were stopping over in Istanbul for a short 6-hour. Initially, I thought there was nothing much to see at that short period of time but I was wrong! Arif was our friendly guide and brought us around Istanbul to see key sites of interest. He gave us a lot of information on Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. He was ready to answer any of our questions, sharing with us about religion, economy of Turkey. He brought us to a local Turkish restaurant for our lunch. Price was reasonable. I would highly recommend Arif as your guide. I got to know he also plan for tour all over Turkey and not just Istanbul itself. I plan to contact him again for a full Turkish tour.Written 22 January 2018

- mdhani0 contributionsPrivate family tour visit to IstanbulVery professional, patient, and courteous. Arif made our 4-day family visit to Istanbul very pleasant and informative. From the time we initiated contacts before the visit, he was very responsive and tailored a tour for our need. During the visit, he was was very well organized. Met us at the airport and arranged for transportation to the hotel. On time, always for the tours. He even made it to the hotel when Istanbul was experiencing a major flood with literally rivers running outside the hotel road. Very patient during the trip with our needs. Waited patiently while we performed mid-day prayers at different mosques during the 4 days. My 13-yo son had a food intoxication and needed to the hospital. He changed the schedule and made the driver take us to the hotel. He even came inside and helped with check in and played the interpreter. He waited outside the whole time my sin was treated in the urgent care (2-3 hours). He gave amazing historical facts and explanations at every site. Very knowledgeable! Very simply put, he made our visit enjoyable. There is no way we could've seen and learned without Arif. Thank you!Written 6 August 2017
- Fayaz J0 contributions3 Day Tour of IstanbulOur short family vacation would not have been as awesome without Arif! From the time we landed in Istanbul until our departure, everything was professionally taken care of more than we expected. Arif is highly knowledgeable and a professional in what he does. He customised the whole trip to suit our interests and timings. Would definately recommend to anyone who visits Istanbul. If you are reading this review and still havent made up your mind about Arif, I suggest you stop looking further, you will not be dissapointed! 5 star person***** 5 star service*****Written 20 July 2017
- Howell P0 contributions2 Days of Guided Walks in IstanbulArif took me on 2 days of walking tours around Istanbul starting with a visit of Dolmabahçe Palace followed by a Bosphorus Cruise. On the second day we were in the back alleys of Istanbul discovering hidden gems and amazing street food that you wouldn't even dream of finding if you tried to go it alone. Arif was very friendly and informative about each of the places we visited. The style of the tours with walking plus a mix of rides on the various forms of public transport really gives you a feel of what it is like to be a local resident of this great city. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 days of tours and would highly recommend to friends and family as well as anyone else who is interested in learning about and seeing Istanbul.Written 4 July 2017
- debzta0 contributionsTurkey highlights - 6 Days - Erkan Karakose Feb 2017We purchased our tickets to Turkey in June 2016, way before Airport bombs, Nightclub shootings and failed coups. We kept waiting for the airline to offer a change for free, the ability to just stay at our stopover in Paris ... but it never happened. So off to Turkey we went. AND we are SO GLAD we did. We found Erkan through Trip Advisor reviews and contacted him, along with a couple of other companies, to get quotes for our trip. Erkan responded promptly, asked a few informative questions and sent us a beautifully laid out, concise proposed itinerary for a private tour. He dealt with us changing our minds, and the details of the trip several times with much grace and we quickly had the trip that matched our wishes and our time frame. We had 6 full days with Erkan in Istanbul, Capadoccia, Selchuk and included visits to Ephesus, Pumakale & Hieropolos along with all the great attractions in Istanbul. Erkan is a wonderful guide and person, genuine, knowledgeable, funny and completely trustworthy. We felt 100% safe for all of our time in Turkey.Written 27 March 2017
