Begin your tour of Phnom Penh with morning pickup at your hotel via tuk tuk.
The day's first stop is the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda complex, featuring elaborate decoration, interesting architecture, and a bejeweled collection of Buddha statues. Snap photos of the marvelous 5,000 eponymous silver floor tiles, then walk over to the nearby National Museum, taking in some of Asia's best preserved Art Deco architecture on the way.
Sit down for lunch at the Friends International Restaurant, an NGO dedicated to supporting marginalized Cambodian young people.
With a belly full of traditional Cambodian food, walk off some calories through the busy streets of central Phnom Penh, beginning on the waterfront and passing some of the city's best-preserved colonial architecture. Pass the Raffles building, the National Library, and the Post Office. End your tour at the Art Deco Phsar Thmey market, then take a tuk tuk back to your hotel.
