About
Cambodia’s music and dance traditions are at least as old as Angkor Wat, but the Khmer Rouge genocide almost destroyed them. Celebrate this revived tradition by prebooking tickets to the open-air theater in the National Museum gardens, where 30 dancers will perform a total of eight dances. Experience genres from the classical apsara to robust folk dances and original creations in your choice of three different seating areas.

This event is no longer in operation and I found out the hard way. I was charged $51 after selecting what I thought was an active date on the calendar for this performance. I showed up to locals stating that the event had been cancelled for more that a year. So now, how do I get a refund?

I really enjoyed the show. I went to see this on the evening I landed in Phnom Penh. What a welcome to Cambodia art, dance, and culture. All the performers were very talented, passionate, and humble. We got the chance to take a picture with the performers after the show. The costumes are amazing. A small group of people play live music for the entire show. Great ambiance. Highly recommended and I’m sure this should be on top of the list.

We've seen multiple shows at Cambodian Living Arts, which we loved particularly as they are focused on elevating the beauty of Khmer culture to its former prominence. To understand Cambodian culture more deeply, it's a MUST GO!

Much more than just an entertaining show...
Jan. 2020
Continued preservation of the performing arts in Cambodia is embodied in Experience Cambodian Living Arts. It is said that some 90% of Cambodia's artists did not survive the regime of the Khmer Rouge. The work of Experience Cambodian Living Arts serves to nurture the country's rich heritage of traditional dances. As such, the performance of "Earth and Sky" was much more than just an entertaining show. Being able to attend was a great way to provide a very small contribution in support of the arts scene of Cambodia and enjoy a great evening out at the same time.

Best in Cambodia.
Mar. 2020
Everywhere else in Cambodia they manage to perform dances for tourists. Don't see them: the only place to enjoy traditional dances is here in Phnom Penh at the National Museum, with the Experience Cambodian Living Arts company. The dancers are top notch, costumes are beautiful and music is played along in real time, nothing is recorded.
Schools for traditional arts really need to be supported here and they also have a social value, so I beg other turists not to complain so much about the asking price of the exhibition, which is rather high (currently 15 US$) for Cambodia but not for Western people (compare the price of a musical show in New York).

Fantastic performance!
Feb. 2020
I wanted to experience a traditional Cambodian dance and music show while on my trip, and this show did not disappoint! The open air theater was very comfortable and a very cool setting behind the National Musuem, which is lit up with many lights at night for a dramatic setting. The show consisted of 8 different traditional dances accompanied by live Cambodian music. It was amazing to see the extremely colorful costumes and different style dances, and the dancers were all super talented. The theater is open as to the roof but the mosquitoes weren't bad at all. I would recommend wearing bug repellant just in case. Overall a great way to enjoy yourself and experience some amazing culture at the same time!

Do not miss this excellent show performed by young professional dancers. A non-stop variety of dance styles with magnificent costumes. An interesting (and not expensive) show full of grace, dynamism and humour.

The one-hour Earth & Sky dance show was so well performed and captivating. Eight linked energetic dances and performances including the traditional Apsara, folk and other dances in classical and beautiful colorful costumes and live musicians. A great show of Cambodian history and culture. Held in a open-air theatre in the National Museum grounds, you can see the show properly from any seat. Could see it again and recommended for everyone visiting Phnom Penh.

An excellent show giving an insight to traditional Cambodian music and movement. Very talented dancers and musicians. Beautifully choreographed. Bit slow /laboured in places however there was a good use of humour to lighten it. Not to be missed.
