About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- WorldWanderer880 contributionsWell run tour going to highlights of the country’s hard to reach sites. This tour took us out of a Yerevan to different corners of the country that would have been difficult to reach otherwise on our own. Marine did a fantastic job as our tour guide providing interesting information and keeping thé tour running on time. The stunning view of Mt Ararat and a climb into the dungeon where the story goes is where St Gregory was kept were memorable highlights of the trip. Other worthwhile stops include St Hripsine, Norovankh, a winery in Areni, and Echmiadzin. What sets this tour apart from the others is that lunch is at a local home. Envoy has worked with this family to provide a local experience for years. It is good to know an agency is supporting community development. In time, this family received support from UNDP to update its kitchen and put in indoor toilet facilities.Written 15 October 2024
- Ken H0 contributionsA Great Way to Travel from Yerevan to TbilisiThis was an excellent way to see some more of Armenia while also getting from Yerevan to Tbilisi. Our guide, Ida was excellent : knowledge and great company. The stops along the way were all interesting. The Armenian family lunch was sumptuous. The driver was very competent. All in all a great day.Written 28 September 2024
- aaronsG3995WU0 contributionsGreat tourThis tour was amazing, the architecture of various churches was incredible. Noravank Monastery was a real gem, and the view on Ararat from Khor Virap is something special. Highly recommend pairing this with the other tour offered by Envoy to Garni/Sevan etc.. to really cover many great sites outside of Yerevan.Written 26 September 2024

- laurasF9880PJ0 contributionsHighly recommend! The best way to travel from Yerevan to TbilisiThis is a wonderful way to travel from Yerevan to Tbilisi in a comfortable, safe van and see all the sights of Northern Armenia on the way to Georgia! We explored three ancient monasteries, visited fascinating Armenian Apostolic churches fron 900-1100 AD, and happened upon a small wedding and local graduation celebrations that were happening that day. Our guide, Edgar was the best. He is so knowledgable, articulate, and kind, gave us so much information about Armenian history and culture. He also happily answered the many questions I had about daily life, religion, and history. Our driver was also very skilled and drove safely. Thank you!Written 30 May 2024
- Dreefjes0 contributionsJoin the tour to experiende Yerevan in another way!We joined the tour in May 2024 and we found it a good way to discover Yerevan and learn more about Yerevan and the way people live. Especially the walk through the neighbourhood with the Soviet blocks and the market hall was (for me) very interesting. Nice guide, small group, good snacks!Written 21 May 2024
- K2573BKdavidb0 contributionsExcellent tour with history and humourWhat an excellent tour - a perfect mix of sights, stories, facts & humour. Edgar was very knowledgeable & a great guide. Definitely something to do while in Yerevan.Written 15 May 2024
- swirlwind0 contributionsA Funway of Crossing The BorderJust had an excellent trip from Tbilisi down to Yerevan with Envoy guided by Edyoz. Everything was taken care of. We stopped at about 5/6 towns visiting ancient cathedrals and monasteries… our lunch was something special -at a private family in a small town. The food was delicious and plentiful. We then stopped for a quick sweet treat before reaching the city centre of Yerevan. Highly recommended 👍Written 13 May 2024
- 113berendw0 contributionsGreat tourIt was great, I took it from Tbilisi to Yerevan. Beforehand i wanted to see Debed canyon but there aren’t really tours from Yerevan going there and this tour is a great way to see it. You’ll also get to bond with the others on the tour, meaning you’ll have friends when you arrive in the new cityWritten 7 May 2024
- 153fatimas0 contributionsAwesome Yerevan Tour with EdgarEdgar was an awesome guide with a lot of tips to navigate the city by ourselves. His English was great and he explained every single question I had. Would definitely recommend his tours to any English/Russian-speaking tourist.Written 21 April 2024
- Marco_Mira_RA0 contributions''Enlightened Armenia'' and ''Essential Armenia''I went on these 2 tours and they were amazing. Everything has been very well organized. The tour guide Marina and her assistant Saten have been very welcoming and Marina's explanations about the wonderful places we were visiting never failed to make us understand a lot more about armenian beautiful culture and history. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants to tour Armenia!Written 17 March 2024
- GSTgst0 contributionsNot your typical boring city tour - quirky, funny, and downright interesting!Luv’d the “Soviet Yerevan” tour! You get to see things that you’d never see yourself in a million years. And it’s not your typical “boring” city tour either. I thought Edgar was very knowledgeable, charming, and also funny with his Soviet jokes. I liked taking a ride on the subway, eating local snacks, and doing quirky things like visiting an abandoned Soviet synthetic rubber factory. I’d even take the tour again!Written 9 December 2023
- t10835tucker0 contributionsProfessional travel experts, the most knowledgeable tourI went into the Essential Armenia tour with Edgar as a tour expert. He is very intellectual and humorous. Whenever I ask him a question, he can give me a complete and well-rounded answer, I have traveled to 56 countries around the world and participated in dozens of tour groups, there is no doubt that Envoy Tours is the most in-depth and knowledgeable tour group. We even enjoyed a perfect traditional Armenian lunch at a local’s house. I definitely recommend it.Written 6 October 2023

The tour was amazing! It was a long day and we covered a lot of ground. This region of Armenia is so beautiful and I learned a ton of history. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and lunch at a family's home was a real highlight. Highly recommend.

It was an amazing experience! Tour truly offers great value for money. Our guide was fluent in English and shared a lot of information and interesting facts about each location we visited. The small group size of just six people made the experience even more enjoyable. We were also fortunate that there weren't many tourists at the spots we visited, likely because the tour was on a Monday. One of the highlights was the homemade lunch at a local family's home, which added a wonderful, authentic touch to the trip. Highly recommended!

This small group day tour was fantastic. The local guide was very knowledgeable and the number of stops was perfect and they were also different. The scenery in this part of Armenia is outstanding. The tour also included lunch at a local families home and we sat at their dining room table with so much home-made food. It was so delicious.

The tour was very well organized: on time, right pace, and a safe driver. Our guide, Saten, was very knowledgeable about Armenia's history and passionate about it. I really liked her positive attitude. The tour included a homemade lunch in a local family's home, which was absolutely delicious.

Well organised tour of the main sights around Yerevan with a knowledgable tour guide and a friendly bunch of fellow tourists. My second tour through Envoy Hostel - both excellent - benefitted from an exceptional lunch from a local family as part of the experience. Great value.
