very dangerous trip.
they tell you to go on the # 2 tour adventure. but not that you are on a tight rope with the feed on wet rocks ... and if you fall here you broke your back or if you are lucky only one leg.
with about 120 km down to the nearest hospital. here they tell you there are many animals of se. there are all animals here .. ask which animal? answer all animals. do not go on this tour and if there are animals let them live in peace.
Peace op Martin.

Best thing we did in Vietnam
Feb. 2020 • Couples
This day trip may have been the best thing we’ve done in Vietnam!! It was fun, exhilarating, beautiful and a great bonding experience.
We had Dat as our tour guide and he was amazing. Superb English, great sense of humor, showed us different birds and insects - best tour guide so far.
The trip itself was brilliant. We did the “adventure” version which I highly recommend. It sounds really intimidating but I managed with a messed up knee that I’ve only been allowed to exercise with for a month and enjoyed it. Swam in the lakes, accidentally swam in the river when I fell in while crossing it, went in the tunnels and saw bats! It’s worth the price and the exhaustion. We had a gorgeous day and I got some of my favourite photos of the trip

An excellent tour: better than expected!
Jan. 2020
Disclaimer: I tend to shy away from organized trekking tours. I'm from an area with many opportunities for independent trekking and camping, and I find organized tours to be too slow paced and coddling for my tastes. However, after a long stay in Viet Nam, I discovered that it's almost impossible to do any independent trekking unless you're a local—everything requires a guide. (I have met other outdoors-persons who have bemoaned the same). But it had been too long since I had been in the forest, so I booked an organized tour to Bach Ma NP (with Wati Travel through this here platform, TripAdvisor).

The trip was far better than expected. Let's get the negative out of the way: no, there is no hiking to the summit of Bach Ma. If you're a peak-bagger, that's a letdown. But in truth, the summit is not a "wilderness" summit anyway—it bears the shrines, pagodas, and other such developments that so many Vietnamese peaks bear. ("Pro" tip: there ARE trails leading up the mountain, and some others to various points around the peak. There are even opportunities to camp on the mountain, away from the inevitable development the Vietnamese are wont to put on their mountains. But getting there is a bit of a hassle, and the hiking opportunities are not well advertised.)

But the AWESOME part of the trip is the long, rugged trail you embark on after the obligatory bus ride to the peak. It traverses a long river gorge that, at times, is quite rugged and involves ropes. The route took several hours, and unless you're Conrad Anker or Cory Richards, I'd call it adventurous. Some reviewers here call it "dangerous." I wouldn't call it dangerous, unless you've never hiked in the mountains before. It's certainly not a leisurely walk along a flower-lined trail with butterflies floating overhead. No, you are literally grasping cables as you lower yourself along the sharp, wet rocks of small cliff faces 50 feet above the gorge. And hopping across streams. Your arms might be sore when you get home, and you will almost certainly get dirty. Maybe even scratched up a bit.

The swimming opportunity was cooler than I expected. It's a clear pool at the base of a small waterfall. You can do it or not—your choice. It's a nice view either way. I did not go swimming, though others did.

I am used to packing my own provisions into the woods for a few days, so the idea of someone giving me a bagged lunch pokes my ego a little. The lunch that was provided, however, was tasty and robust. Rice, chicken, veggies, soup, etc. Thumbs up.

The guide was excellent and friendly. Spoke enough English to get by with the group. Laughed at my broken tieng Viet. Always a good sign that the guide is loose and comfortable!

In the end, this was a great day in the mountains and the forest. Wear boots. I wouldn't recommend this for elderly people or very small children. However, there was a boy of around 10 years old who did this trek just fine. There is an option to bypass the gorge and go directly back to the bus. The tour guides call it the "chicken route," so there's that.

This tour is highly recommended if you want to get out and do a day hike in the mountains and don't mind having some fun in nature. Not so much if you are just looking for a leisurely drive on a mountain road.

Amazing scenery and adventurous hike through the mountains!
Jan. 2020
We had a great time on this tour to Bach Ma National Park. Mother Nature gave us a perfectly clear day which made for amazing views from the top at the start of the tour. Then the hiking and climbing through the mountains to the five lakes was difficult but fun! You take a pitstop at the fourth lake for lunch and to swim if you dare. The water was pretty cold but it was still cool to jump into the clear water for a dip. The food provided was also very good. After the break, you continue on through the forest to the fifth and final lake before making it to the top of the 300 meter waterfall. Our guide was great and we all had a blast. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested.

Cancelled 10.30 pm the night before due to overbooking
Jan. 2020 • Friends
January 15 I wrote to Wati travel about the possibility of going on this trip the next day (two persons). They confirmed that we could go and sent me a link to pay (5 pm) - I got a confirmation on my payment at 6.50 pm. We arranged an extra day in Danang and transportation two days later - all of this were done AFTER confirmation of the booking. At 22.24 pm I receive an email that the trip is cancelled due to bad weather (!!!) - after several questions to this (I couldn't find anything that indicated that the weather should not be perfect for trekking) the company admitted that it was a lie and that they had overbooked the tour (another possibility is that we were the only persons booking for that day, but this is only my conspiration). I would have expected that a company like Wati travel would have made two groups in case of too many people booking the tour (I have experienced this with other companies).

We are very dissapointed about this, because that it didn't just meant that we didn't go to Bach Ma (it was too late to book another tour), but also that we spent very valuable time (and had extra cost).
If you will be sure to get on a trip (and doesn't check your e-mail just before you go to bed) I will not recommend this company.

The best trekking I ever did
Jan. 2020
We did it in the dry season and it was absolutely amazing, it was really through the middle of the jungle.
We did the "adventure" (not the easy) option and we did not find it very challenging, but rather very pleasant.
Probably in the wet season may be more challenging but not like crazy.
And definitely the guide was the best, so funny and passionate about it!
One of the best Vietnam experiences.

Hard work but worth it!
I'm not a hiker... more a city girl but I really enjoyed the 'hard' hike. Guide was super nice. Swam in the little lake, very cold but felt great after. Definitely recommend it.

Well worth the visit
We did this in very late 2019. It was a very wet and misty start to the hike, but the fresh air and scenery through the clouds were breath taking. By the end of about 10kms round trip, the sun had come out.

Come prepared with foot wear to be soaked, even if you choose not to swim in the cool waterfall, as you cross some streams. The water hole is a brisk temperature.

Moderate walk even during rainy season. It is apparently cold for the locals, but it is very humid and wearing a supplied rain coat, it is quite warm. I recommend shorts.

Hiking the Bach Ma National Park
Dec. 2019 • Couples
Had an amazing time hiking through the jungle. Very safe and adventurous. Not too difficult, but not too easy either. Waterfalls and lakes along the way.

We hoped to see Gibbons
Monkeys. But they were shy today.
Our guide “Dat” , spoke great English and made the adventure memorable. Thank you.
