- jo_opedroc7700 contributionsGreat experience with PhongThe trip with Phong was amazing! He had a huge energy, and tried to explain everything he could, while trying to avoid the crowded areas. He seems to try to be well informed and updated. And to add to it, he was basically doing everything, opening coconuts, moving snakes, opening the bees nests. In my opinion, the cu chi tunnels really worse it. The Mekong is nice, although I think it is better if the tie is high.Written 10 November 2024

- 940valentinv0 contributionsFun day activity!I booked the tour with Get Your Guide. Got picked up at the hotel and everything was managed perfectly. Our guide Phong was the best! He was extremely knowledgeable and was delivering it in a very entertaining way! He kept on making jokes and giving us extra information all the time, which made it even better. We loved the Cu Chi tunnels. He was doing everything possible to avoid the crowds and find quiet spaces to give us all the information. The visit to Mekong delta was not impressive though. The tide was very low which made the views a bit worse. We were happy to support the local community thanks to this activity though, so that's a positive. Overall, my advice would be to do the Cu Chi tunnels only and pick Phong as a guide!!Written 10 November 2024

- Happiness4ever0 contributionsTunnels , river cruise … not to be missedWe had the most amazing day on this limousine tour with 7 guests in total. Our guide Mr FA was brilliant, his English was very good, so we got a good understanding of the history . The cu chi tunnels are really interesting but not easy to crawl through and it’s rather hot and humid. However so pleased I experienced it as brought the history alive. Mr Fa was very kind and considerate and looked after us all very well. Food and drinks that were included were really great and the transport very comfortable, it is a long day. The boat trip along the Mekong is an experience! Highly recommend this tour when in Saigon .Written 9 November 2024

I purchased a travel package from them for our family, but unfortunately, we were left dissatisfied with the level of service provided. Despite paying a significant amount, we found ourselves traveling in a standard bus lacking in comfort. Our disappointment grew as the tour itinerary deviated, first taking us to an irrelevant art and craft factory. It became apparent that this stop was merely a ploy by Kim Travel to promote sales and earn commissions, wasting our time in the process.
Upon finally reaching Cu Chi Tunnels, the tour rushed through significant portions, depriving us of the opportunity to fully appreciate the site. Our guide seemed more focused on concluding the tour swiftly rather than providing informative insights or addressing our queries. Additionally, there was a lack of accountability as some members of our group got lost, requiring them to seek assistance from the guide.
To add to our frustrations, the tour concluded without dropping us off at the designated pick-up point, forcing us to incur additional expenses for taxis. Overall, our experience with Kim Travel fell far short of expectations, and I strongly advise against their services to anyone considering a similar trip.

The tour picked up on time and had one stop along the way at a souvenir shop. The souvenirs are twice as expensive compared to the same stuff at other shops, so be aware! Our tour guide was a little insensitive to the war topics and smiled the whole time while talking about some of the gruesome war facts, showing the traps and tunnels, and seemed to be delivered in an anti-American perspective. It would’ve been nice to acknowledge that no one wanted the war on the American side either. There is also an area where you can pay extra to shoot guns. It’s extremely loud and right next to a gift shop/restaurant. It was very off putting. Overall, it was humbling to experience it all but not the best experience.

I did the half day tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels and it was a great experience. Jackie was our guide, so knowledgeable sharing the history of the Vietnamese guerrillas in their fight for survival in the American war. War is not a pleasant topic, and although uncomfortable, Jackie created a picture of the experiences and impacts on the people and the environment. I been on tours where the guide gives plenty of facts but no understanding; Jackie delivered the lot. The tour was cheap, such great value for money, I came away educated and the group was good; it was so enjoyable to meet people from many countries and hear about their travels. Do not hesitate to do this tour.

The tour guide was very focused on describing how smart the Vietnamese were during and how Americans were stupid. I understand that the tour is in Vietnam but even not as American I felt a strong bias. Besides few stops at "special stores" one of them offered products at 12 times the price compare to local markets in the city center!

Dear Mr Miko -
The first thing we are very sorry for your problem which made you unpleasant about the tunnel trip was organized last week. Secondly We want to inform you let you know that our guide did not mean American army was stupid in the war - he only meant The NLF ( National liberation front) well- known Vietcong got great - smart idea in their guerrilla war tactics to get final victory . We are sure with you that Vietnam war has been complicated for any side to understand that so we hope you sympathize with this problem. Thirdly we need to tell you about handicrafts product you saw at the workshop ( made by handicapped workers ) the product price could be higher than Ben Thanh market but it could not be 12 times higher like that - one more thing you should know that the product you saw at the workshop are created by hand made , one by one and step by step that why it took long time to finish and high quality warranty. We are not only saw value of fine art but also we saw values of human because it was made by handicapped people has been Agent Organ Victims. At Ben Thanh market you will never see anything value like that . We are not sure the quantity of the market product ( because we did not see how they made it ) Finally we hope you will understand our sharing to make everything clear .Hope you have a great Holliday in Vietnam . When you back our Vietnam please inform us let us know .We promise planning your enjoy again . Thanks for your reading our response!

The long drive with an unexpected compulsory visit to a craft/art factory was made longer because of the overly friendly commentary with too much repetitive emphasis on the importance of giving excellent reviews about the guide and tour. The tour of the "tunnels" did provide an insight into the VC side of the war and why they were so successful. The tour site is tired and loaded with clichéd physical examples of tunnels, traps hideouts and all the things you might expect but lacking anything that might really make you think about recommending the tour. That said if you didn't take the tour then you might be left thinking you had missed an important aspect of Vietnamese history. All up I would rate this tour as overwhelmingly average. You are expected to participate in climbing into small dirty spaces and following a conga line of asses through what you are told are authentic tunnels now worn smooth buy the shoulders of tourists. If that appeals to you then wear clothes suited to rolling in dirt and you may well enjoy the shooting range.

A very fun trip indeed! Tanh was our guide and he made every effort to put us first whether it be in line, carrying the merchandise we purchased, or negotiating prices with the locals. He made a lot of jokes, but he worked very hard to make our trip the best. I highly recommend this tour and Tanh.

Mr Long was very knowledgeable. Prior to arriving at the hotel, he gave me a WhatsApp video call to inform me about his arrival. The tour was very informative and engaging with plenty of artefacts to explore. We spent approx 2 hours in the area with tunnel exploring and also getting to know more about the local history there.
There is also a live firing range at Cu Chi for those who are interested.
I recommend going for the noon session as there are lesser people and also recommended by our guide.

We did the small group tour with Jacki who was a really knowledgable guide. He explained a lot of the history from a different point of view to the war remnants museum in Saigon. You can crawl through the tunnel for 20, 40 or 60metres and also see the types of booby traps that were used.
The tour also includes visit to a local art factory and you can do weapons shooting (AK47, M16 etc) at the tunnels for extra $.
The thing that could be improved is, the 20min video from 1960s. I would rather spend more time exploring the landmarks and displays in the jungle area.
We left District 1 around 830 and returned around 3 even though it was a 'morning tour' so be prepared for that.

The tour with our guide Jackie was very good. We got a lot of information and Jackie explained everything passionately and we could also ask him a lot of questions.
Only thing we could criticize of the company (not Jackie!) is, that they sold us the tickets with a group size of maximum 20 persons and at least our group had 24 people.

Communication with tour company prior to trip was very good. We made our own way to the tour office but they kept in contact. Our guide Phong was very good and even treated us to a couple of songs on the way! The guided tour of the tunnels was interesting and Phong was well informed. It is worth paying extra for the chance to fire one of the guns at the range. There is quite a long stop at a handicrafts centre on the way. We took the afternoon tour so be aware that the shop and cafe at the end of the tour will probably be closing by the time you get there. Phong was very helpful in advising us the best way to get back to our accommodation.

Is the tour suitable for parents with a baby or small children?
Written 6 June 2024
It’s approx 90 min drive either way and some uphill walking around the tunnels, the tour takes around an hour and it is largely in the sun with little shade so I would say depends on age of children

hi there, i'm not sure of 'book now - pay later'as we had paid in advance. i recall there is a full cancellation option too in case there is any change, subject to cancellation 24 or 48 hrs prior to the date. hope it helps.

Hi,
May I ask the pick up time and return time of morning session on 10 Dec ?
Can drop off in the city (district 1 on request)?
We will stay in Majestic Saigon Hotel.
Written 26 November 2019
Umm, our pickup was around 10am from District1, but you might want to ask at your hotel reception or elsewhere on tripadvisor because I don’t have anything to do with the tour agency/company, just reviewed my tour.
Have fun anyways!

Hi. Does this tour take you inside the tunnels or offer you the chance to? I’m wondering if it’s suitable for people with bad knees/ backs. Thanks
Written 29 July 2019
Hi!
Yes, we got to walk inside of the tunnels, but you can choose not to as well. The tunnels are really small and you have to bend your knees and your back while walking inside the tunnels.
