About
With its stilted villages and scenic farms, the Mekong Delta offers enough to see that it’s difficult to see the highlights on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh, especially on your own. But this guided tour makes it possible: Visit a family home, take a horse-cart ride, and boat through canals (upgrade for a bike tour). A small group size means plenty of time to ask questions.

After pickup at your central Ho Chi Minh hotel, relax on the scenic journey to My Tho by air-conditioned bus. Meet the family and taste fruits, honey tea, and honey wine as you chat about their lives and listen to traditional music. Board a small rowing boat to navigate narrow canals, passing under bridges and relishing the tranquility and scenery. Then, enjoy a horse-cart ride and classic Vietnamese lunch at a restaurant. We had a really good day on this tour with Alex. We were picked up from our hotel at 8.10AM and got in a van with AC to see the big Buddha, then we’re given some time to roam and take pictures. Throughout the van ride Alex had a great sense of humour and had lots of banter. After the big Buddhas, we went on a boat ride across the delta which was ok.
After this we arrived at a honey bee farm and tasted some honey tea which was delicious. We then went to a locals home where they sang traditional songs for us and we had fruit - this was one of our favourite parts of the tour! There is an opportunity to give a tip so be sure to bring some Dong with you.
Finally we went to a coconut candy making factory where we tasted the candy (so yummy!) and then we took a smaller boat trip ride to lunch which was so good. We had elephant ear fish, spring rolls, steamed rice and soup.
Overall a really good trip but knocking down 1 star because there is a lot of travel involved and there was no option for bike riding. Also we did not get to travel by horse cart either.
Be sure to wear something small because it gets VERY hot on the boat!

Great day tour out of Saigon to the river Delta. We booked the private tour with a group of 4 and I highly recommend it over the larger group tours. Much more intimate and you can spend the time admiring the sights instead of waiting for stragglers. Betty, our guide, and Nam, our driver, were both excellent. Bus was very comfortable. Everything is included except drinks and tips. We especially liked the lunch with spring rolls with fried fish and the fruit and honey tea tastings in the morning.

I had a great tour with Betty yesterday to the Mekong Delta. It was myself, a group of 16 people from Russia and one other guy from Italy. The group itself was a little chaotic and many folks spoke only Russian but Betty handled it like a champ. She was engaging, funny, informative and friendly. I really enjoyed her and she even dealt well with a young man trying to ask her out. She was professional and clear with her boundaries while still being friendly.

The tour was pretty busy with a variety of stops. It felt a bit touristy to me, but I understand that is how folks make their income in these areas. I was able to enjoy a boat ride, fruit tasting, seeing a pagoda, coconut candy tasting, local music, and more. The pace was good and the activities were engaging. For a tourist type tour it was nice. Plus the bus was comfy and had wifi. We were provided a bottle of cold water.

The only thing was the lunch was not great on my visit. The food was prob my least fav meal in HCMC but it seemed to be the spot a lot of tours go so it might have just been an off meal.

Overall I would definitely recommend this tour for folks who want to see this area as part of a group tour.

Two day Mekong Tour with home stay.

We had a lovely time, although a little touristy Alex our tour guide did a very good job in avoiding the crowds for us. A small group meant he was attentive, entertaining and helpful.

Although it says it’s a two day Mekong tour, we spent about an hour on the Mekong river on day one and an hour and a half the following morning. The 2nd day finished at 9:AM before heading back to HCMC. From the itinerary, I expected this to be a longer tour.

On day one we cycled around a village, visited a candy workshop and took a boat through the picturesque palm trees.

Lunch on the first day was tourist place and the worst food we have eaten through our entire 3 weeks in Vietnam 👎🏼
However, we did really enjoy our experience at the home stay.👍🏼

Day two
Early start to hit the floating market at sunrise. You are guaranteed to get some amazing pictures here.

Quick pho stop on a restaurant boat before heading to a rice paper factory. Lunch was eaten on the way back to HCMC and returned at mid day.

Our guide Kevin was great. Personable, interested and knowledgeable enough. The attractions were fine if at times a little " touristy" but the is what we signed up for. We enjoyed the honey bee farm a lot. The two cruises down the small canals of the Mekong were very nice if a little short.

In short the trip met ore exceeded expectations in almost all regards.

The one disconnect for us was the van from HCM City to the Mekong was not " luxury " by any definition. It was not all that bad just not as advertised.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality and professionalism from our tour guide Sally representing Vietnam Adventure Tours. She was friendly and humorous throughout the entire trip, narrating sites/landmarks and cracking jokes to entertain everyone on an otherwise average bus ride to the Mekong Delta. Additionally, she was fluent in both English and Vietnamese, accommodating to guests of different languages and backgrounds.

The tour we took began in HCMC with convenient pick up at centrally located hotels. We had a bit of a hickup with our bus unfortunately getting a flat not even 1 hour into the trip, but the driver and Sally were quick to stop and swap it out for a spare with some help from some locals. We then proceeded to Vinh Trang pagoda to take in the sights then headed straight to My Tho and Mekong Delta for sightseeing, coconut candies, and python photo ops. Canal ride on kayaks were just beautiful, be sure to tip your skippers! Water was provided for guests and bus was adequately comfortable. Oh and free WiFi, what?!

One thing I would change would be the restaurant where we had lunch. They served a VERY traditional Vietnamese family-style meal, which is adventurous for some, common for others, and unpalatable for few. Be sure to bring some snacks you can enjoy so you don't go hungry, but also get outside your comfort zone.

Lastly, bring extra cash! This will be for tipping your awesome guides/paddlers and for gifts, souvenirs, trinkets, snacks and drinks offered at the many stops along these way.

TLDR; awesome all-in-one package at a tremendous value for sightseeing the Mekong Delta in a day. Bring cash and snacks. Enjoy!

We had a great tour to Mekong delta with our guide Cung, it was a small tour bus with a nice bunch of people, the tour consisted of a boat trip to a couple of islands, folk singing lots of food, showing you how they make sweets and tasting the likes of snake, coconut & banana wine. A cycle trip to a local village which we unfortunately missed as our son was not confident on the bike.
We then got a small boat through the narrow Mekong delta which was fun and lovely to see. We also visited the Pagoda & buddhas. This overall was a great tour and Cung was a breath of fresh air leading our way ;-). The only advise I will give is DON'T sit on the back if the bus if you can help it, the roads can be VERY bumpy and throw you literally out of your seat!

Wow! What. A. Tour. Our tour guide "Viet" was amazing, funny and very friendly. He made the tour extra special by adding character and humor when talking to people and made everyone laugh! The tour itself was amazing, getting out of the busy city into the country side visiting some amazing place was a pleasant change of pace from the business of the city, everywhere we went people were so friendly and inviting. The food was also delicious, catering for vegetarians also. I highly recommend this tour to others for the fantastic experience and opportunities to explore the beautiful country of Vietnam. Finally I would just like to again thank Viet (the best guide) for such an amazing day, What a geezer!

Did this tour with 6 friends on the large bus. Emily was our tour guide who was great at English and fun to talk to. She was very congenial. This tour was a great value at $15.70 USD. They managed to pack a lot into this tour and it kept going even when you thought your money couldn’t go any farther. I highly recommend this tour over the Cu Chi tunnels, not that they’re bad, just that the Mekong delta tour is packed and worth it.

Very interesting, a lot things to do. The group was small, only 7 people. Everything was nice. The tour agent, Mr. Tai, prepared a lot to make trip as interesting as possible, trying to explain more, and making jokes . Everyone had great time. We had a lot spots to see. The clean and peaceful countryside was so great after nosy city. The great food. The most delicious coconut in my live. The first time in my live have seen people used such interesting style of row the boat(lady did it only with the help of legs)
