My spouse and I did the 5-course cooking class during our recent trip to Hanoi. It was definitely a highlight of our trip! Our instructor, Siri, was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We loved learning from her. She really took her time to teach us, and was kind enough to send the recipes for everything we made. Plus, she went above and beyond to accommodate my vegetarian diet. And everything we made was so delicious and authentic! I would 100% recommend this class to anyone visiting Hanoi and looking for a way to learn about the local food and culture. Even if you're on a budget, the price of this class isn't too bad. And we made so much food, I'm sure you could take what isn't eaten with you. We would've done that if we weren't leaving the following morning.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing private cooking class experience with Cinnamon, definitely the highlight of our visit to Hanoi (and top of our 2.5 weeks northern Vietnam adventure)!
After meeting Cinnamon at our hotel, she led us through to the nearby market where we learnt about the ingredients and local vendors, a truly authentic experience we wouldn't have had going by ourselves. Cinnamon is a fantastic teacher and host - highly professional, patient, funny and speaks perfect English.
The five course meal was absolutely delicious, and we loved that you can curate your own menu from a variety of authentic dishes - our favourite was the chicken & lemongrass, and banana blossom salad. Would 100% recommend the private class with Cinnamon as the kitchen might be a bit too compact with 5+ people - don't miss out on this food fiesta!

This is the second time I’ve done this class (two years in a row) and this time I had to bring my family. Cherry did a great job explaining the foods at the market and giving insights into Vietnamese cuisine. It was so cool to go into the market and actually know what different things are. We had so much fun cooking - process was clearly explained- and the food was awesome. A great way to sample A bunch high quality dishes at once to get a taste of real Vietnamese food. Will definitely come again if we return to Hanoi. Thanks Cherry!

I did the cooking class this morning with my boyfriend and we had an incredible experience. Our guide Siri was personable, helpful, charasmaric, knowledgeable, and has near perfect English. We took a short minute walk to a nearby local market where we picked out ingredients for the meals we would prepare. Siri told us about some local traditions, some history of the streets in the old quarter, and many helpful tips for navigating the old quarter, markets, and local vietnamese ingredients. Siri was also very open to any questions and knew the answer to everything I asked, she also encouraged us to point out unfamiliar vegetables and fruits so she could tell us what they are and what they are used for which was really cool. When we arrived back at the restaurant we were taken to a private kitchen area on the 3rd floor where we were given some water, a small fruit snack of rose apples and began to work on the dishes. There was a total of 1.5 hours of cooking in which we made (under siris instruction, and with the help of a few assistants) beef pho, fried pork springrolls, bùn cha, green papaya salad, and egg coffee. All the food was amazing but the egg coffee and bùn cha really stood out as some of, if not the best we have had in our several weeks in Vietnam. After the cooking, we had a massive meal and even took some leftovers home. The entire experience was quick but never rushed and was very full of information without being too hard to keep track of. We were given a certificate of completion and a recipe book for what we had made that day which is really helpful for someone like me who doesn't have the greatest memory. Highly reccomend this class if you are in hanoi, and highly highly reccomend siri as she made the experience.

Siri took us around the market not just buying the food but telling us a lot Hanoi as well as answering all of our questions about food around Vietnam. She was an absolute amazing teacher and helped us whenever we struggled and gave us a lot of encouragement. She also let us taste some market food for ourselves such as the jicama, rose apple and vietnamese donuts. Best thing is that we got a recipe book of dishes we cooked and some extras so that we didn’t have to remember it off by heart - 100% recommend

We paid a little extra to have a private cooking class ~ and was spoiled by Wendy all throughout the initial market tour and the actual cooking as well. She gave us the ins and outs of how to navigate the local market produce, special tips on how to create the best dishes (actually explaining why to use certain techniques), and an overall insight to Vietnamese culture.
The additional cost was worth it for us ~ it gave a lot of flexibility (including hotel pickup and a time of our choosing) but overall it gave us a chance to get to know our chef, make jokes and have an overall fun experience.
Most importantly! The food was so good! Can't wait too use the tips & tricks (and the complimentary cookbook) to show off to fam and friends back in australia!

We had a fantastic cooking class with the best teacher there is - Nhi!
At first I exchanged a couple of mails with Tracy from Apron up because my boyfriend and I wanted a private cooking class where we would learn how to make
Nem Ran
Nom Rau Muong
Phở bò
Bun Cha
Ca Phe Trung
We agreed on time and date and were picked up by Nhi at our hotel in the Old Quarter.
Our first stop was the local market in the Old Quarter where we bought some of the ingredients for the meals.
Nhi was very nice and explained everything and translated when we had questions.
We arrived at the kitchen after a couple of minutes walking through the Old Quarter.
Some of the ingredients were already prepared for us so we put on the aprons and started cooking.
The Phở had a lot of ingredients but Nhi explained all steps very thoroughly ad repeated everything when we had questions.
We had very nice conversations with her on how we live in Germany and about vietnamese cuisine and culture.
There were also two other vietnamese ladys who helped cleaning up and preparing.
After we finished cooking our meals, everything was brought downstairs where we ate.
Hands down, the Phở we cooked together with Nhi was the best I've ever eaten!
Everything was so delicious and fresh and we could not finish everything because it was too much.
We spend around 4 hours with Nhi and I cannot recommend her enough!
We also got certificates and a booklet with all recipes after the class.
Thanks again Nhi for the great experience, we had a lot of fun with you and we hope to learn from you again when we get back to Hanoi!

I have booked a cooking class for my partner´s 30th birthday and he was so happy about it. I took the private cooking class so we were able to pick the menu, we went to the market with Vicky, she took time to explain the variety of Vietnamese ingredients. After that, we went back to the kitchen where we cooked 5 different meals and ate it after all. Vicky also bought a cake for my partner. She is lovely, I highly recommend this cooking class especially if you want to discover Vietnamese cuisine.

We were in a group of 8 divided into 2 groups of 4, and thus had an authentic, intimate lesson into the art of Vietnamese cooking, instructed by the wonderful Siri. Her English was perfect and her insight into what goes into the dishes provided many an interesting story of Vietnamese culture. The market tour is 25 mins long whilst you buy the ingredients needed to make the dishes.
Then it’s hands on in the kitchen for 2+ hours.
The food is amazing and the company was even better. An outstanding activity.

Hi, Can I confirm I cannot bring any children under 9years?
Thanks,
Miriam
Written 7 December 2023
It’d be best not to.. since it is a kitchen there will be sharp objects, hot soup, and a generally hectic environment.. youll be risking danger to your child if you do so.
