Traveling Around Hanoi In One Day
From USD 40.00
Venture through the capital of Vietnam with this comprehensive and informative experience.  Ask your guides about Vietnamese history and culture as you visit key historic and cultural sites like the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum Complex (where President Hồ Chí Minh declared the country’s independence), the One Pillar Pagoda (a historic wooden Buddhist temple), and Hoàn Kiếm Lake with lunch in the Hanoi’s Old Quarters.
What to Expect
You will be picked up from 8:00 am to 8:30 am at your hotel to begin your full-day tour. The first destination is Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho. The complex is also where President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house is located, where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969. You will also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, which is actually a group of structures that collectively make up a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake. After that, you will continue on to Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shore of West lake. From there, you will visit the Temple of Literature, which was Vietnam’s first university and is dedicated to Confucius. You will have lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter before visiting Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart and soul of Hanoi.
You will also have a chance to visit the Museum of Ethnology or Bat Trang Ceramic Village, depending on the day of the week and option selected at time of booking.
You will stop at Museum of Ethnology. This superb museum showcases the depth of Vietnamese cultural diversity with an astounding collection of 15,000 artifacts gathered from throughout Vietnam. Maps, displays and dioramas are labeled in Vietnamese, French and English. You can also examine a traditional Black Thai house reconstructed in the museum. There is also a center for research and conservation where scientists from all over the world study traditional Vietnamese cultures.
You will go to Bat Trang Ceramic Village, which is approximately 13 miles (20 km) away from Hanoi. This is a pottery village with a half-millenary (500-year) historic development.
When your unforgettable full-day of sightseeing is complete, you will be taken back to your hotel.
For an additional fee you can choose to enjoy a Water Puppet Show or take an Electric Car or Cyclo (a three-wheeled pedaled or motorized taxi) around Hanoi's Old Quarter. If you join in either of these activities, you will be taken back to your hotel.
