I had Tom as a guide. As a buddhist monk for nearly 20 years he knew exactly what he was talking about and he gave me an entertaining and highly interesting and informative tour. I could not recommend him more highly and this tour was certainly a highlight of my time in Thailand.
Untouched Thailand offer a wide range of possible activities and I would recommend a look at their website.
Early morning start is worth it. When we arrived well before six AM we were the only people there.
Wat Palad on the way down the mountain is a meditation temple and was well worth the stop for its serenity, hidden in the jungle near a waterfall.

An absolutely amazing, enriching experience. Non was such a fantastic and enthusiastic guide. His past as a monk really was demonstrated through his expert knowledge and respect for all the temples visited. He was committed to ensuring that the photos taken were acceptable and that I had a special experience. The time at the top of Doi Suthep temple provided a serene view of Chiang Mai. The contrast of the dark upon arrival and sunrise was so memorable. The time in Wat Phalat was extremely calming with waterfalls and further great views. Lastly, the Khao Soi was one to remember and was a perfect conclusion to a great tour led by Non!

This trip was such beautiful experience. MrTom was exceptionally kind and gentle, explaining each step of the way. Being a past monk, he was authentic and knowledgeable and I learned so much. Best of all of he exuded calmness, presence and radiated such light. I felt the benefits for hours after beautiful scenery, being part of monks blessings, giving alms and meditating in temples. I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed!

Definitely recommend. Guide / driver was on time, clean and safe transport. Educational. Learnt loads. Covered a lot. Early start but worth it. Dress modestly and bring a wrap. Can get chilly first thing. Wear comfortable and easy to remove shoes as there is a lot of walking at the temples and you need to take shoes on and off. I ended up with a tour to myself due to the pandemic and limited tourists. The guide was thus able to be flexible and include the handicraft market at no extra cost which was nice. Tour operator were easy to communicate with. Very worthwhile tour and one of a few if not the only willing to operate with a solo traveller.

Bright and early, Our tour guide Non picked us up from our hotel, driving us to the Doi Suthep temple at the top of the mountain. He was a wonderful guide, sharing his inside perspective of the temple, the monks, Buddhism, and it’s rituals, all based on the time he had spent as a monk. He helped us participate in several rituals, including the morning mantra, hanging a family prayer bell, receiving a blessing from a monk, and finally, helping provide food for the temples morning breakfast. Throughout, Non had a cheerful demeanor, and he eagerly engaged in the multiple questions we directed at him.
A surprising highlight of our tour was Non’s kindness and connection to some of the stray animals living around the temple: they came running to greet him, staying with us throughout our time at the temple. Non had brought extra food to make sure the animals were fed, just as the monks were.
The rest of the tour was great, we particularly enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the hidden temple. Our last stop for food was extremely tasty, as Non recommended new dishes for us to try.
The sunrise views over the city are beautiful, and worth a few hours sleep deprivation for. Highly recommend!

This tour made a huge difference in my trip to Thailand - I’m so I glad I did it. Tom was a perfect guide who shared an incredibly thoughtful and helpful perspective on Thailand’s history, religions, life as a monk, and the temples. He knew when to show a range of aspects of the temples, including when the sun would rise (showing Chiang Mai lights and then sunrise), to give the alms, even when the temple would start to get more crowded. Efficient but not rushed at all. It didn’t feel like a show or tour - but like he was there to share about this world and life with you. He could answer any question. The tour helped me notice and appreciate all the history, symbols, views, etc. as I went on to see other parts of Chiang Mai and Thailand afterwards. Tasty breakfast too. A great experience for Thailand and life in general!

Siphon is a great tour guide! He was very kind and full of knowledge, sharing so much about the history of the temples we saw and his experience there as an former monk. He even helped take photos for me as I was by myself. The temples had very little tourists as the country was just opening up again during my visit but that allowed us to take our time and me to take more pictures. This tour, even on a cloudy day, really showcases the beauty of Chiang Mai. It was a peaceful morning and I’m glad I went. I will definitely book this tour again the next time I visit Chiang Mai!
