About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- annabX9731MW0 contributionsMr T excellent tour leader! We had a great experience visit Cambodja during a 2- day tour från Bangkok. We had great time and Mr T and his colleges was excellent, fun and with much knowledge that I warmly recomend this trio.Written 9 January 2025
- Trip590536672240 contributionsExcellent tour for visiting the highlights of Angkor Wat and Siem ReapFantastic tour with good arrangements and reliable logistics. What made this experience especially outstanding was, however, the professional guidance by Mr. Sothy, a local of Siem Reap, who introduced the most important temples and sites thoroughly and in an interesting way, ensuring that the visitor had a good understanding of the rich traditions and history of the local culture and all the astonishing sites. Warm recommendation!Written 24 December 2024
- SherfeeqR0 contributionsThank you Sothy!Sothy is an excellent guide, funny and informative at the same time. He knew the best spots for photos too! Together with our driver he made a great team and we had a great time in Siem Reap and at Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. I cant recommend this tour highly enough. Everything went smoothly and we left with memories to last forever. Thank you Sothy!Written 22 December 2024
- 486vladg0 contributionsOveral a nice trip but the passing border procedure must be improved...The excursion in Cambodia side, departing in the afternoon and next morning from our Siem Reap hotel, was very enjoyable thanks to our guide Bunrong. He was professional, kind, knew the history of the place and spoke English very well, he was very patient, letting me take lots of photos. He also took some very nice photos of my family. The downside for this tour was the border crossing between Thailand and Cambodia, where we found it unprofessional to have to change 2 or 3 border agents before arriving in the Cambodian minibus (you must change the Thai minibus), the area being unsafe, no ATTP tour guide until the hotel in Siem Rep, just the driver, a very nice guy who didn't speak English... On the way back, no one was waiting for us at the Thai border, so we had to find our border agent about 300 meters after the border - a slightly frightening adventure...Written 28 November 2024
- 952bric0 contributionsAmazingThe tour was exceptional due to my guide Bunrong and his wealth of knowledge, English speaking skills and kindness. As a solo middle age traveler everything went smoothly including the border crossing.Written 5 November 2024
- Linnarie0 contributionsGreat sights, great tour guide in Siem Reap, poor transfer process.Mr T did a great job as a tour director! He was well informed, courteous and spoke English fairly well. The sights at Angkor Wat were fantastic. He answered our many questions with patience. The hotel was great. Transferring at the boarder was not great. None of the people spoke English, we were not told that we would have to carry our luggage through both Thailand and Cambodian customs. Elevators didn’t work, it was a little scary.Written 1 November 2024
- Tourist424171184740 contributionsENRICHED, BLESSED.⭐️✨💫 ENRICHED, BLESSED, DRENCHED with culture and joy. Wow. What a trip. We selected the 2 day tour from Bangkok. The 8hr trip from Bangkok was long, but beautiful. The trip through boarder crossing was vibrant and full of pace. It felt like travelling through a movie. But the real star was when we arrived. The hotel was beautiful, we had a terrace room looking out acres lush green foliage. There’s a cute pool. Bring swimmers. The guide; Soth Sunny & Driver, Chay. Both were some of the moody wonderful humans you will Meet in Cambodia - remember that - because every Cambodian is like every friend you never met. So to say they’re amazing in a country filled with so much amazingness is really huge. We had a private boat tour around. The floating village, it’s both as haunting for a way of life at risk from increasing drought - as it is for upstream dams being built. As it is joy filled for a community rich and cemented in staying as they are - despite the hoards of tourists floating past shoving black mirrors in their face, we also stopped to feed crocs. (Then later went out for dinner and ate croc. But you know. When in Cambodia & and no. It doesn’t taste like chicken). The temples are a super joy. What can I say that isn’t said. So I won’t. But you know. Put your phone down occasionally. Remember you’re in a place of worship. And you don’t always have to touch everything. Its sandstone and your hands are covered in oil and acid. Leave something for your kids kids to see in a couple of decades. Please stop for the brand who are playing that suffered landmine injuries. It’s not only joy out of horror. It’s freaking beautiful. Yes. Sadly some of the population has not managed to catch up with the rapid opening and advance of the economy in the country and there will be people trying to sell you things. Don’t be mad. Bring small bills. Give freely. Remember how much your holiday cost, you can afford it. If there is any place on earth that should remind us that we are only based here transiently - it’s Angkor Wat. The trip. The guide. The people. I’m leaving feeling spiritually full. Lighter. Freer. Happier. Culturally enriched. I’ll be back. Sooner rather than later. And Mister Thy - I’m coming for dinner with your family. Until then.Written 23 October 2024
- ahvanderboon0 contributionsWonderful taste of CambodiaWe really enjoyed this visit to Angkor Wat and Cambodia, making the most out of an extended layover in Bangkok. While TripAdvisor had an issue with the booking system, our first contact and booking confirmation with Vithyea via email was quick and professional. Vithyea was also our official and qualified English speaking guide in Cambodia. He and the driver are very friendly, and had a very clean and comfortable minivan. During the ride along the rice fields, Vithyea explained us about the schedule and introduced us to life in Cambodia. Around 12:00 we enjoyed our lunch in a nice restaurant, and arrived around 14:30 at our hotel. After a short break we left to visit to the floating village, and afterwards to the nightlife area. Siem Reap is a surprisingly vibrant and beautiful town. The Tara Angkor hotel is 4 stars, but has a 5 star allure. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with freshly polished wood. Breakfast, dinner and drinks are excellent. The visit to Angkor Wat was magnificent, and throughout the visit Vithyea explained about the site’s history and details, and is happy to answer your questions. Although you can spend days on this vast site, the morning was just long enough for our teenagers. After the visit we enjoyed another wonderful lunch, and made our return to Bangkok. Having just traveled through Tibet and Nepal, Cambodia surprised us with its friendliness, cleanliness, and modern infrastructure. We will certainly consider returning to this beautiful country. Side notes: The trip was well organized, but as some reviewers have highlighted could use some explanation in ‘what to expect’: - TIP: Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport hotel has breakfast from 4am, so no issue with the 6:30 pickup, nor Bangkok traffic. - Transfer to border: Thai taxi company, so the drivers does not know anything about the tour, and is not likely to speak English. Trip to border takes 3,5 hours including a short break. Bring some Thai Baht if you want to buy something, since not all petrol stations have a minimart. Ride in the minivan and roads are comfortable. Just sit, relax and enjoy the ride. - Border transfer: you arrive at the taxi hub, where you wait for a ’runner’ to walk you (with your luggage) to the border gate. After that just follow the signs for ‘foreigners’ to go through Thai immigration (Exit). After Thai Immigration another ‘runner’ will pick you up to guide you through Cambodia Immigration (Entry). He will have completed your 2 arrival cards p/p already and will offer to handle the procedure ($ 10 p/p). Even if you decline, he will tell you where to go for your 1) Visa and 2) Entry stamp. Payment of the Visa is in cash USD 35 (?) or THB 1300 p/p. There is an officer that speaks (some) English to help you to complete the arrival card (signature and visa number). After immigration, the ‘runner’ will take you to your guide. The whole transfer took us about 40 minutes, and (in July) there are no queues. Note: Cambodia immigration is upstairs (2 flights of stairs if the elevator is still out of order). - Transfer to Siem Reap: After completing immigration the ‘runner’ will take you to guide: let the tour begin. The trip to Siem Reap takes about 3,5 hours, including time for lunch. The road is good and ride is comfortable. Enjoy the explanation and views. Return process is the same, without arrival cards.Written 27 July 2024

- S3736RHshannond0 contributionsWell worth the investment of timeAmazing sights and a great way to check another off your bucket list. The guides and accommodations were excellent. A little more advanced instruction on what to expect for the border crossing would have been nice, but it was quickly evident how it would go. The sites visited are an excellent bite for such a short trip, but I will go for longer next time.Written 30 March 2024
- K5071UNricharda0 contributionsAn unforgettable, excellent experienceTransport to the border with Mr. Aum was smooth - Comms including photos of who we were looking to find etc. via WhatsApp was seamless. Border crossing meant being passed to someone to guide us where to go by foot but of course they couldn't come with us - we took the offer to not queue for the visa as it was clearly going to take a while and it was hot plus we had all our baggage etc., $7 well spent. We just waited in a side room with others whilst the guide took a different route (skipped the queue) and was back with us in minutes. Driver on Cambodia side was smooth and we met the guide for the tour (name sounds like "Long") at the (VERY nice) hotel. Guide was excellent, knowledgeable and flexible. Given a lot of detail about transport because you shouldn't be put off by other things you may have read. It's different to the way things might be at home, but nothing to complain about... Things ARE different. They should be. Otherwise why leave home?! Floating village tour was excellent. Again I'd read a lot about how exploitative it is but there was no evidence of that at all. There are no crocodiles in the lake, no mistreated bats or snakes in cages at the village, no girls sent out to the boat in a paddle washtub begging. No begging at all. There WERE crocodiles at the village in a pit - but in a kind of farm... They looked well, were well kept etc. they are used as WE might use farmed animals - but they obviously couldn't keep cows and sheep on a floating village! They are eaten, with skin used and products available to admire or buy. We asked to stay and watch the sunset and were allowed to do so. Excellent. Watching traditional net fishermen on the trip back was a bonus. The guide gave us a geography and history lesson explaining everything we saw. We were taken into Siem Reap, took the guide's advice on where and what to eat for traditional Cambodian fayre and walked a while before heading back to the hotel by tuk tuk (different to the Thai variant, this was an actual motorbike towing the carriage!). We asked if we could get to the temples early morning to watch the sunrise and again everything was flexible enough to allow that. We then took time to fully explore Angkor Wat with excellent guidance, a free photographer in the guide who knew all the best spots and the kindest group of resident temple guides to help us along the way before being taken back to the hotel for a great breakfast then returned again to the temples for Ta Prohm (tomb raider temple) and Bayon (faces everywhere!). All with the benefits already mentioned of our excellent guide and driver. Travel back was as before. Just go with it. Trust the people and jet then do their jobs - you'll have an unforgettable experience and hundreds of photographs!Written 18 March 2024
- subramaniank20240 contributionsThis is definitely a must-do trip for everyone! Mind-blowing!Angkor Wat is an absolute must-see-before-you-die location. The Angkor Wat Temple Complex is very well known, of course, and is the largest religious structure in the world. However, the descriptions do no justice to actually seeing Angkor Wat in person. Its grandeur and sheer expanse is breath-taking! Its history, architecture, scale and charm is second to none. The trip was very well organized by Viator who picked us up on time at our hotel, and after a roughly 3.5 hour troip to the Poi Pet border, we got through to the Cambodian side. (we had obtained eVisa's prior but I'm told you can get a Visa on the spot as well). Another 3 hour ride to Siem Ream - we were put up in a very nice 4-star hotel with attached restaurants and an excellent breakfast buffet. This is where we met out tour guide Soth Sothy. Soth ("Mr. T") proved to be a terrific guide, and was extremely knowledgable, and stayed with us for the rest of the trip. First evening was a tour of the floating village - which was very interesting. Day two was the star-studded day, with many hours at Angkor Wat. Do not miss the climb up to the top gallery and seeing both the view, as well as the 4 Buddha's facing each cardinal directions. The Hall of the 1000 Buddhas was quite remarkable, as the center stone in the hall is build to align perfectly with the magnetic north (easy to verify with the Compass App in an iPhone). All the way through we learnt a lot about the construction, timeline and history of strife for the site, as well as a wealth of information about the carvings and iconography in the temple. This was followed by a visit to the Angkor Thom Bayon Temple with the Lokeshvara Buddha towers- which is quite amazing as well, including the monkeys clambering the ruins. The last site was the famous Ta Prohm Temple, where Angelina Jolie shot scenes for "Tombraider" - quite amazing tos ee how the trees grew all around the temple ruins. The local restaurant scene is excellent - we ate at the Chanrey Tree restaurant for dinner Day 1 and loved the Haute Cambodian food, although street food is awesome as well - both in Cambodia and Thailand. Many places to shop for local artifacts - Cambodian Silk, Khmer sculptures - bronze and teak, as well as gemstones like sapphire and ruby. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Only negatives I can think of are the heat, long ride and we wished we had more time as there is so much more to see and do. Next time: will do a longer trip to the region for sure. Guide, driver and associated staff were excellent as well. Strongly recommend the trip!Written 3 January 2024
- I3495LKjohnr0 contributionsBKK to Angkor WatGreat trip from Bangkok to Angkor Wat. The summary written by the company on the web page is accurate. They will pick you up at your hotel in BKK at 6:30 am. Transport you in a nice van to the Thai-Cambodian Border. You will be escorted to the border and go through immigration and be met on the other side by another guide who will walk you to the van on the other side. From there it is a 2 hour ride to Siem Reap. We were dropped off at a nice hotel, allowed time to unpack and relax, and then we met our tour guide for a trip to the Floating Villages. Our guide, Long, was great. He was friendly, good English, knowledgeable about many facts, and just an overall nice guy. After watching the sunset on the lake we were given the option of exploring Pub Street in Siem Reap which we did. Long explained we could stay as long as we want and just flag down a Tuk Tuk and pay $2 for a ride back to the hotel. We walked around, did some window shopping, and had a nice dinner, and then a $2 Tuk Tuk ride back to the hotel. The next morning we had a good breakfast at the hotel, met Long at 8 am and went to Angkor Wat and several other temples. Long did a great job explaining things and answering our questions. We opted for a lunch in Siem Reap before we left and the van driver drove us to the border and we were escorted by a guide to immigration and then met by another guide on the Thai side to walk us back to the van meeting point and then driven back to BKK and dropped off at our hotel. A great 2 day and 1 night trip from BKK to Angkor Wat. Highly recommended.Written 13 December 2023

This was a very good trip overall. After a bit of confusion in the beginning (our hotel in Bangkok was hard to find and the traffic out of Bangkok was terrible) the trip went smoothly. We weee met by a very young man who arranged the border crossing and trip to Siem Reap, where we met our tour guide. The hotel was great and relatively modern. In addition to touring Sap Lake and The Angor complex itself we had plenty of time to discover the market, good food and meet friendly locals. BTW, no need to exchange money, they all love to take USD instead of the local currency

We give this tour 2 stars as there were only two good aspects; our tour give for the temple visits and the driver in Cambodia.
We were traveling as a group of 9. Picked up in Bangkok hotel and made one stop before arriving at the border. At the border meet by a APTT representative who told us we could stand in line for our Cambodian Visa or he could expedite it for us for an additional 7$ USD per passport to be paid to him. Total of 40$ (33Visa, 7 to him). We choose to expedite, but it standing in line on your own was much faster as we watched countless people get their visas while we waited 90 min. Total scam!
Our tour guide and driver in Cambodia were great; only downside is they take you to extremally touristry, expensive and marginal food places to eat. Family of four cost $50 USD to eat a tasteless lunch, but the restaurants were safe and no one got sick. The hotel in Cambodia is very average and all food/beverages on the expensive side.
On our return trip to Thailand we left the hotel at 8:30. Once we arrived at the border we were told it take 4 hrs to enter Thailand, we asked why so long and they said due to upcoming new years holiday, and we should have arrived earlier, yet no one told us that.
Once in Thailand we wanted to get going back to Bangkok immediately, but our driver was not ready. He put us in the van and we proceeded to wait 30 min for him to go to the toilet, smoke, get tea and some type of leaf.
Then we were on the road and 45 min in we were stopping, and noticed our driver was having a hard time staying awake. We stopped every 45 to 60 min for the driver to stretch, walk around and get some tea. We had to watch everything on the road and make loud noises to help keep him awake. Several times he braked very hard to keep from hitting vehicles in front of us. We asked to drive and he refused.
It tooks us 4 hours on the outbound trip to get from Bangkok to Border, going back to Bangkok it took us 6.5 hours, with same type of traffic.
I DO NOT recommend this company.

Hello.
About the trip: We just finished this tour as a couple. All in all, it was a very interesting and great trip. You experience a lot of Cambodia in the time available. Of course, the temples in Siem Reap are particularly exciting. On the bus trip to Cambodia, you have the time and opportunity to observe the country and its people from the bus. We were always alone on the bus. 👍. The hotel and food were chosen so that it definitely met a good standard for us.
About the organization: everything worked very well for us. All the people, especially all the contacts in Cambodia, were extremely helpful. In our opinion, it couldn't be better. We had a small issue with the driver (see other reviews) in Thailand, who was then replaced immediately and I think from now on only good drivers will be used in Thailand 😊. The driver, the vehicle (luxury van) and the tour guide in Cambodia were a highlight, we felt extremely safe and very friendly.
We can highly recommend this trip to get to know Cambodia as well as Thailand in a short time.

This was a super last minute trip. We were inspired and decided the night before that we were going, and the tour operator, Vithyea was super helpful and accommodating!
We were picked up from our Bangkok hotel and made the drive to the Cambodia border. The Thailand car is not able to cross the border so we had to go down and walk across. With bags in tow and the heat, it's a trek. Some parts we got help from our tour operators. There are spots with no elevators or escalators and we had to carry our luggage. My husband has back issues so we decided to just take the airplane back. Vithyea gladly gave us a credit for not using the land transportation back to Thailand.
Since my husband has back issues, he's particular with the hotel bed as well. Vithyea arranged for us to check out a couple of other hotels until we found the right one. Again, he graciously gave us a credit for that portion of the package.
Experiencing the Floating Village as well as the Temples were beyond amazing. My husband and I have been in a deep spiritual journey and we were pulled to visit this gem for a reason. Our tour guide, Mr Sava was really great in explaining the history of Cambodia and the significance of the spots we visited. Above that, the place just spoke to us in a way that words cannot do.
Mr Sava also took us to eat yummy Cambodian food, watch traditional Cambodian dance and shopping! Really appreciate how he guided us and made us feel cared for.
So grateful for Mr Vithyea, Mr Sava, our driver, Mr Phanna for giving us this amazing experience! Thank you so much!!! We will be back with our friends and family!

The tour was amazing....
The first day we visited floating Village (It Is a real One, very different from artificial you can see in Thailand).
The second day, we visited Angkor temples... No words, magic place.
Only bad point is the distance from Bangkok (trip Is too long), but I would do it again.

Everything was perfect! From the time they pick you up at the hotel, the crossing of the border and the arrival to the hotel, all people are very nice and welcoming. The hotel is wonderful, quiet and clean. My time with Mr.T (Sothy) was the time ever!! He explained to me every single detail at each temple. He loves his country and presentes it with proudness and dignity, I love that very much! I highly recommend his services. 😄

Dear Management Team,
Normally, I don’t write reviews, but today was a truly special day, and I felt compelled to share our experience. The reason for this was the knowledge, kindness, and professionalism of Bunrong.
He was incredibly friendly, spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humor, and displayed genuine empathy throughout the tour. Thanks to him, our visit to Angkor Wat became a 5-star experience. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend him to future tourists from all over the world.
Thank you for connecting us with Bunrong. We hope many other tourists will have the privilege of enjoying the same exceptional experience we had with him. He truly understands what it means to be an outstanding tour guide.
Kind regards,
Servi and Esther

Everything was really well organized. We were a little worried since we did not hear back between the booking and the trip. But on the day of the trip the driver waited for us at our hotel in Bangkok in time. The driver brought us to a man who helped us to cross the border. That man brought us to the driver in Cambodia.
We left Bangkok at 7.00 and arrived in our hotel at around 15.00 (we did a lunch break on the way). At 16.00 we left for the lake.
Next day all day visiting temples.we had a good guide.
It would have been nice to have a choice between two or three different hotels. It would have been nice to be offered to see Angkor Wat at sunrise, wich other travelers were offered, but then it rained anyway.
It was really good to have help across the border.
All in all it was a very good experience and we would book it again!
Well organized and good guide!
Only the last driver to Laem Sok tried to tell us we would miss the boat and tried to drive us somewhere else, but we used google maps and in the end catchend our boat.
