      I exceeded expectations
Trip was super easy, a taxi picked me up at the hotel. Took me to the meeting place where i could get breakfast, coffee and bathroom. And the bus was comfy and nice, good ac. Our guide AJ simply the best, gave us great insights, answered all questions, gave mobility tips, great pace and great guy. Same as Mr. sunshine the driver, good job. Pad thai also deserves a call out. Definitely recommend!

      Delightful!
Paul was a perfect guide for this trip. His knowledge and humor were a great combination. The ruins of Ayutthaya are definitely a highlight of my trip.

      Great Day Tour
Very well organized tour. Lots to see and do in a relatively short period but our guide Superboy kept us well informed and engaged. His experience afforded us the opportunity to be at the right places at the right times!

Ruin near to the modern city
The ruins and landscapes were just beautiful. AJ was our tour guide, and he was very dedicated. He took extra time to explain the meaning of each ruin corner. He is passionate about his work.

Lovely tour to Ayutthaya city, all very well organised. Our guide AJ was the absolute best. He is very knowledgeable and was happy to share a lot about his home country culture, history and way of life. He was very funny and thoughtful about our needs. The temples were incredible, and the homemade food at a family’s home was a great experience I’ll always cherish. Thank you, AJ and Big Country Tours.

A great showcase of the old capital of Thailand
The tour left on time, Sam our guide was an amazing guy as he was full of information about the history and culture of Thailand (he also had a great sense of humor) and he was very helpful, food was good (for the westerners in our group I saw that they were quite uncomfortable with the heat at the restaurant but hey welcome to the tropics) nd overall the tour was worth it! Seeing the reclining Buddha also was a bonus for a Street Fighter 2 fan like me :)

      A daytrip to Ayutthaya
The trip was really amazing. We decided to pay a little extra and get the one way pick up from the hotel because we had to wake up really early in the morning. Our hotel wasn't on the listed hotels, The Ascott Thonglor, maybe because it was new? but there was an option for don't know your hotel yet, so i picked that option and was immediately contacted by someone from the tour to arrange the pick up location and time. This tour is literally a Godsend. We reached the Rivercity meeting point and then all got regrouped according to our preferred language and got allocated an incredible tour guide, Sam, who was incredibly chirpy and happy and did his level best to make everyone feel welcomed. We then got on a bus which kind of took us an hour or so to get into Ayutthaya where we were given facts about the 4 Unesco heritage sites. All the entry fees were covered by the tour and Sam even gave us a little extra where he bought a blessing for all of us on the tour for our second temple visit to Wat Mahathat, the temple where you find the head of the buddha enveloped in the roots of the Bodhi tree. We covered all the 4 temples by 12.30 -1pm ish and then we went to visit a local food stall in the neighbourhood for our lunches and made our way back to Bangkok. Thank you for letting us visit you Ayutthaya and thank you Sam for making our day!

Get immerse into Buddhism and local history
We took the tour on Aug 26 morning and our tour guide was the best. He helped us get immerse into Buddhism like any other and local culture. Perfect combo to explore Ayutthaya. Bus is not the most comfortable but still decent. Lunch was also not up to the Thai outstanding flavor levels but it was ok.

      Excellent trip!
We thought this tour gave a great deal of value for the money paid. Picked up at our hotel (even though it wasn't listed) and taken to the meet-up point at River City Mall where we even had time for coffee and a muffin. Got on the bus, Sam gave us some interesting history, stopped for a brief comfort break and then went to the main sights with a good overview of each from Sam! There were lots of choices for lunch and it was certainly adequate. Sam was brilliant and knows the best photo and vantage points. Only criticism was the minibus was Japanese and designed for shorter people than Europeans. It was terribly uncomfortable but a small price to pay in context!

      Responsible tourism
I joined a tour with an end view of experiencing culture that is not too far from Bangkok. Uncle Sam is a seasoned guide where he imparts his local knowledge on culture, religion, and how tourists should behave in sacred temples, monuments.

Fantastic experience full of a lot of new information.
Great day spent in Ayutthaya visiting temples. The guide gave us a lot of information about the area and temples. We were all offered 2 bottles of water during the day. The traditional Thai lunch was offered at a house after visiting the temples. Unfortunately, it was not great, in my opinion.

      Pleasant and educational
We thoroughly enjoyed the escape from the city to see the “original” capital. The ruins and UNESCO sites were incredible! Our guide, “Uncle Sam” was so accommodating and very knowledgeable about the history, culture, and ways of the Thai people. We also enjoyed the roadside local restaurant. It was a wonderful half day trip!

Sara shared with us all the important sites we passed by. She also answered all our questions. Very good english. For people thst travel for the first time in Thailand if you choose this trip, make a list of what you would like to buy and ask your tour guide for a resonable price to pay. There are no prices exposed and you have to negociate for everything. I wanted to buy 10 magnets (fridge magnets) and sellers first price was 4000 bth. I negociated to 1000 bth/ 30 Euro (I still wander if I made the best decision buying from the floating maket). Ovrerall was a great experience.

This is a definitely something you want to see and experience. Our tour guide "Abby" was friendly and explained the sights really well. We had a tour in the train and later got to see the market stall owners quickly pack their goods away before the train returns. I did not enjoy the seafood and fresh meat markets as i am skirmish for strong fish smells and the sight or blood. This is not something i recommend for those with a sensitive smell and gut. The Floating market however was much more pleasant and i managed to get lots of gifts at great prices. I would certainly visit this market again!

The trip started at 6.30 am.
Sara and the driver picked us up from the tour agency.
Sara is brilliant, knowledgeable, caring and with great sense of humor.
She took us by bus to first train station (and pee pee island), then by the train to the first marker, where we were able to see the train departing and all the related commotion. Then Floating market which started with "James Bond" boat trip to the market itself, then half an hour in paddle boat.
    Great experience, unforgettable moments.
With Sara everything went as planned.
    Thank you Sara

Best tour we’ve done in Thailand! Our tour guide was by far the best we’ve had so far…Knowledgeable and funny. Started off on the train to the station. When you arrive in, it’s a funny situation where the tourists on the train are filming or high fiving the tourists on the platform! Once the train stops there is a quick tour of market before getting into position to be the tourist of the platform. After that, we transfer to the floating market. Again, the guide gave advice of how to barter should you wish to purchase anything.
Both tours are very economical as the floating markets are known to be a trap in tourist extortion. The 6am start is painful but is the best way to avoid the excessive crowds

The tour was good but we felt too rushed, specially at the train station market. We only spent 30 minutes there after having spent 2 hours in the van to get there. At the floating market we spent approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. Just getting on one of the boats in the floating market took us close to 30 minutes. This didn’t give us much time to browse around once we got off the boat.

What i liked the most was coming into the station in the train and then watching it leave.

The guide gave us no information on the history of the train or the floating market. It was more of a means of transportation to get there.

I feel we spent way more time in the van then at the sites. 2 hours each way!

We did this tour yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was Tee. The van turned up spot on time and we picked up 4 other couples on the way. At one point we were actually running early. The bus was full but a maximum of 12 people which is nice as it's only a small group.

It's an early start but don't be put off, it's so worth it. We drove for about an hour (after the last pickup) out of Bangkok and arrived at the train station (I use the word station loosely). There's a toilet stop and then we waited for the train which arrives at a loose 8am. All aboard and then a half hour train trip to the market. It's amazing watching it all unfold from aboard the train. Once stopped Tee took our picture at the front of the train. You then have about 20 mins to look round the market before the train leaves again at 9am. This time you watch it leave and don't go aboard. It's just incredible. A health and safety nightmare but like nothing I've ever seen before. A real cultural experience. Tee then provided us with free cold water and off to the floating market we went.

A short trip in the van and then a James Bond boat (long tail boat) gets you to the floating market. Again another spectacle. We sat and just watched it all unfold around us. Incredible. There's an optional boat trip on the floating market which we did as we wanted the full experience. It was 300 BAHT for 2 of us. Tee kept hold of our tickets and advised us to come at 11am when the boats would be quieter. After that we headed off back to Bangkok. Traffic was on our side so we got back at about 1.15pm. You could argue there was a little too much time at the floating market but it was nice to just sit down and enjoy it.

I'd highly recommend this trip and this company.

    *Extremely punctual
    *Clean van
    *Bonus free water
    *Great tour guide

Tee was informative, clear, helpful and funny. Thank you so much for a fantastic trip.

The night before they advised us what time pick up will be exactly and they were there waiting for us in the morning at that time. The tour guide Pat was very professional and excellent English we understood everything and she was very detailed as what to expect. First you drive to the train station take the train into the market and after leave with the van to the floating market, where you take a boat into the market. In the market you can take another boat for few extra bath to go around the river or just walk around on land and see mostly the same things. up to you if you prefer the beat or walking around. After the floating market its time to head back. Very well organized activity and i would recommend to anyone thinking about doing it.

Train market was a great experience however I thought the stay at the floating market was too long unless you paid extra to go in a traditional paddle boat for 30 mins. It may have been better to have this included instead of the long boat ride to the market. Also told that tour finished at 12.30 but didn't arrive back to hotel until 1.45 pm and so missed my check out time oops.

I was here with two friends and Sara gave us first-hand insights into the life of Thai people. She was very caring and always made sure the group did not separate despite the busy conditions at the train market. At the floating market she recommended us that best Pad Thai for the cheapest price, 70 Bhat only. We can recommend Sara and the tour!! Thanks

One of the main reasons for booking this tour was to spend time exploring the railway market. However we spent 15 min in the market, yup that’s right I flew across the world for 15 minutes. Ok that’s a little over the top, but you get point. We did however spend 45 minutes at roadside gas station / truck stop food court so maybe the tour should have been labeled truck stop and brief tour of train market.

Part of the reason for truck stop was the guide, who was very nice and knowledgeable, has us ride the train into the market which was cool and an appreciated that experience, however logistically this should have planned better. We could have arrived at the market first, give us the hour to explore and maybe take the train out of the market for a stop to two. The truck stop and “lunch break” at the floating market accounted for the majority of the trip. The floating market was about 40 min or so.

Now let’s talk about the floating market, this one is totally commercialized for tourism. Instead of walking between vendors on the street with exactly the fare for sale, now you go in a boat and see the same stuff. All that being said It is nice to be out on the water.

Who is this tour for, well since I like cultural experiences, this is defiantly not for me. If your looking for off the beaten track, nope. If your looking for new products, hand made crafts etc …. Nope. If a day trip with family is on the agenda sure. If your looking just to “check it out” on a surface level then yup good trip for you. If your a photographer looking for market shots or a traveler who wants to get a good flavor of the area, forget about it, hire a driver and come yourself.

If you happen to have any significant mobility issues I would also steer you away from this tour. Getting on and off the train will be an issue. Also the train market is narrow around the tracks but it does extend further inwards from the tracks. Just so y’a know there are a ton on tourists there and they tend congregate along the train track.

For many this will be a nice escape day from Bangkok and an ok but not an overly memorable experience. I honestly know it take a lot to plan out a day tour, but I really cannot recommend this one.
