          Slightly tired
My expectations from the name "Alpine" were not met by a long way. This is a fairly flat course with a reasonable amount of water. There are hills in the distance but nothing which can be described as alpine. The course is a little tired at the edges. Management needs to invest a bit more in its maintenance. That said, it's still a reasonable course to play. The club house areas felt rather souless and vacant. The caddies spoke reasonable English and were entertaining. The course is about 45 minutes from central Chiang Mai. Getting away proved a bit tricky as we couldn't get a taxi.

Terrible - rent a scooter or hire a Tuk Tuk driver
Terrible!! Seriously rent a scooter or hire a Tuk Tuk to drive you from place to place. The private tour we had included an English speaking guide & a driver. The guide picked us up at the hotel & took us to the 3 sites. 2 are free & the JEATH war museum admission is 30bht. We received no information from the guide & the total time spent = 2 hours and that’s because we spent time reading about each site as we googled and read more on Wikipedia. For a tour costing us $175.00 this tour provided nothing other than a ride in the back of a pickup truck. Totally worthless tour. Disclaimer: This was the 1st of 2 back to back private tours that I booked with Amazing Asia Tours who subcontracted with Good Times Travel. If I could have cancelled the next day without penalty after this tour we would have. FOLLOW-UP/SUPPLEMENT: After my initial posting on the 2 back to back tours, I received a call from an Amazing Asia Tours representative apologizing and indicating that this is not how they operate tours. He indicated that my tours they had subcontracted & was clear that this is not how they operate. He offered to refund me 50% if I posted a follow-up letting others know this was an exception and not how they conduct tours or to remove my 1 star. I have still not received a refund, but trust they will honor their word and their 1/2 day tour of Kanchanaburi will be outstanding to future travelers.

          Amazing Time
I booked this for my parents and they also had 2 other trips with Amazing Asia tours and had a brilliant experience and highly recommend them. Well looked after and delivered the complete package from pick up to drop off. Private tours and they would like to thank all the drivers and guides for making their first time to Thailand a special time. Thankyou 😊

Terrible - hire a taxi or rent a car
Unlike a previous review: You Do Not Need A Private Guide!! Rent a car, scooter or hire a taxi. Hellfire Pass provides an excellent audio headset and our guide did nothing more than say here we are & paid the admission fee. They provided water, so that’s a positive, and we could stay as long as we wanted to learn the history thru the audio & walking the pass. Same goes for going to the waterfalls. No guide needed, no extra ‘information’ provided about the history of either location. Did provide a nice lunch, but that’s easy to do. We paid $350 for 2 people for the day. No value provided by hiring a private guide. Positive: Guide (Joy) was a nice person, but expectation was if in a van for 3.5 hrs (total between locations and return) then at least provide some information about the area, very disappointed and other private tours we’ve hired are typically worth the added expense. This one definitely was not. Disclaimer: we booked 2 back to back tours thru Amazing Asia who subcontracted tours to Good Times Travel. This was 2nd day, if we could have cancelled after the 1st 1/2 day Kanchanaburi city tour without penalty we would have. FOLLOW-UP/SUPPLEMENT: After posting these comments I received a call from a representative of Amazing Asia Tours apologizing & informing me that this is not how they operate their tours. He indicated in my case they used a local operator in Kanchanaburi but would reevaluate this relationship because this is not how they conduct business. Offered to reimburse me 50% for both tours, if I added follow-up comments or deleted my 1 star review. I am still waiting for the refund, but trust they will honor the agreement and future private tours to these sites are ‘value add’ as we expected and he indicated they expect as well.

          Amazing private tour experience
The tour guide Thanya and Driver were amazing. Very helpful and informative. The private van was superb, comfortable and luxurious. Thanya took great care of us and helped us take amazing photos. The views are beautiful and we learnt a lot about Thai Culture and Cuisine. The weather was very hot but the air conditioning and chilled water inside the van made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. We had a wonderful family trip.

A perfect tour for British Commonwealth Tourists with an interest in the WWII history of the Death Railway
A fabulous day excursion which we would recommend to anyone, particularly to anyone with interest in the Second World War in the Far East. Our Driver and Guide were excellent; knowledgeable and helpful, and importantly always ready with cold water or a cooling towel when returning to the minibus. To travel some of the track laid by the allied servicemen and civilians was very moving, and gave spectacular views of the river and an insight into the hardships suffered during its build. The stop at the CWGC cemetery in Kanchanburi made one realise that the many who died on the railway were real people with families and regional contacts from all the many services, and regionally based regiments who fought in World War Two. The tour also gave us the opportunity to get out of the Bangkok bright lights and get a feel for the Thai countryside and its people. We would recommend though, one significant change to the itinerary. While the trip to the JEATH Museum was interesting (a reconstruction of an accommodation hut with many photos) it really should be replaced by a visit to theThailand-Burma Railway Centre, more commonly known as the 'Death Railway Museum and Research Centre', adjacent to the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Kanchanburi which was part of the tour. This is a very well presented and informative museum with many more times the information and artefacts than the JEATH. We were lucky in that we were the only two on the trip and thus were allowed to briefly visit this Museum (at our own small expense) and contact with the curator who could tell us more of the personal history of my wife's father, who worked on the railway, absolutely made our entire holiday to Bangkok.

          Personalised, informative and friendly
Our full day personal trip to the war museum, the bridge over the River Kwai and then to Erawan national park and waterfalls was outstanding. Our tour guide, Ken, and our driver were excellent. Very friendly and informative. They couldn't do enough to help us and made our trip very memorable. I would 100% recommend this luxurious way of travelling.

          Unforgettable experience
We loved it! On arrival there an elephant freely walked past us alone! They are a rescue park and do a great job! You can feed the elephants, prepare a food for them, bathe them. The best thing is after departure of daily visitors - you can go alone to the elephants, also during the night. Next morning we walked one of them to the river and bathe her. We also went floating on the river Kwai - it is amazing! With all the jungle around! The place where we spent a night was one of the nicest on our trip, with the view on the river and jungle, big terrase and nice shower. The food was delicious! Elephants World was a highlight of our trip! I would recommend to stay overnight, because you need some time to adapt to this big animals.

          Very Disappointed!!!!!!
Very disappointing! Once in a lifetime trip for us! Guide could not understand or speak English properly. Nothing was explained to us along the way or at the destinations. We were rushed around. Could not even savour the moment on the bridge or anywhere else! Will definitely not recommend this tour! Not happy at all!

Excellent tour, our guide Ken looked after us
This was the best way to learn about and see Kanchanabury and the Burma railway, it was a long day around 12 hours, but being a private tour meant we were able to travel in comfort and not waste time. Our guide Ken was very friendly and informative, with good English. Also our driver Phayoon was good and got us there and back safely.

Spectacular course but not made welcome.
Riverside is a spectacular golf course from the clubhouse and driving range to the immaculately kept course. Our caddy’s were very friendly and knowledgeable, as were the locker room team. However they were the only ones from the arrival at the entrance until we left. In particular the pro shop, starter hut and marshal team members were not friendly at all. We were there Christmas Day and it was a real shame that this took the shine off our visit.

This tour was perfect! It was a fun filled day of visiting beautiful sites learning about Thai history and its culture. Our tour guide, Jill, was a certified consummate professional. She was quite knowledgeable and her personality was so charming! She has a great sense of humor.

The tour even took us to a traditional Thai restaurant for lunch. The food was so delicious!

Our driver was courteous and professional and very punctual.

I would highly recommend this tour for somebody who is looking for a fun filled day of adventure with a great tour guide, and comfortable shuttle transport. I was thankful the shuttle had air conditioning… Because Thailand can get so hot and humid!

We enjoyed our tour. The guide was very polite, knowledgeable and welcoming and her English was quite good. It was a particularly hot and sunny time of the year but the reduced crowds were worthwhile. The private vehicle hotel pick up and drop off was very worthwhile in busy Bangkok.

Very well organised and knowledgeable guide. Nira showed us best jewels of this city and also added tour of Sunday market and very testy lunch in local eatery - really great experience. Choice of Wats was just perfect, both in quality and quantity- we got perfect impression and took as many shots as we wanted

This tour was very enjoyable. Our guide Ben was very professional and considerate and included many activities and experiences to make the day fun and informative. As well as seeing the beautiful palace and several temples, both restored and ruined, we fed turtles and fish at Bang Pa In palace, did a beautiful lotus meditation and offerings to Buddha at Wat Phanan Choeng and had a delicious Thai lunch at the cafe opposite Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. All the temples we visited were different but each had a restful atmosphere that was very special.
A great day trip, would definitely recommend!

The overall experience was a great one. Our tour guide was very passionate and knowledgeable throughout the entire day. We especially appreciated the lunch that we had at a young local restaurant. Even though the sun took away most of our energy and we were completely drained at the very end, we truly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend anyone to take this tour.

I had a very informative and personal tour with Jill as tour guide and Tidtee as the driver. Jill discussed culture and beliefs of the Thai people and delved deep into the history. This tour was fantastic for taking excellent photos and Jill knew exactly where to stand for the best shots. She was also not shy to 'demand' that you pose so that she can take the photos! She also organised that I could pose with Monk Novices for a photo.
A very good tour if you are keen to learn, walk, enjoy lots of outdoor time and take it all in!

We went to the Ayutthaya Temple tour and the Bang Pa summer palace on Apr 3rd. It was a lovely day out. The ruins are beautiful and worth the visit.

The palace is also very beautiful! I would recommend shopping for the wrap around skirts, palazzos, etc in the shop outside the palace as I found them reasonably priced.

Our guide (Kit) gave us umbrellas as it was very hot which was very kind of him.

It was very serene at the spot where you see the head of Buddha in the midst of the branches of the Peepal and Banyan trees.

I am going to cut 1 star as the guide seemed hesitant to order vegetarian food for us and we had to tell him several times. By us not eating meat, the food is cheaper. I am not sure if the guides are given a certain amount of money and any saving goes to their pocket.

Ben (hope that's the right spelling!), our guide, was great - friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour too! The sights were really interesting and the restaurant for lunch was very good - lovely food and a nice spot overlooking the river. Going on a private trip meant we could go at our pace and ask all the questions we wanted - worth the extra money.

Our private transfer was on time and provided special accommodation to pick us up away from typical hotels. The tour guide Taim was extremely knowledgeable and her English was very good. I feel like I learned a lot about Thailand’s history from her. We stopped and toured several historical spots. She was very nice and took several photos of us which we really appreciated. I would recommend this tour for small groups or couples. It is fast paced, but it’s so hot you really are ok with getting in and out of the heat with haste. We were provided with a nice lunch. We got beer which we had to pay for on our own, which is understandable, no problem. Overall we had a good time and saw many beautiful things, the service was friendly and comfortable. Would recommend to friends and family.

Our family had a great time on this full day private tour to Ayutthaya. and Summer Palace. Our tour guide was great, she gave us very detailed history on how the city was built, destroyed in war, and rebuilt. We learned that the bell shaped pagoda is from Sri Lankan Buddhist influences while the corn shaped ones are from Cambodia.

She was very patient and helped us talking many great pictures around the temples and palaces.

Overall highly recommended personal private tour.
