Very good day trip to Banana Beach from Phuket.
Well organized, friendly guide, boat transportation very good. Lunch on the beach was excellent. Actually the snorkeling on the beach was better than the snorkeling from the boat….not sure why…water clarity? Banana Beach was great. This is a popular attraction so expect a crowd.

Great option for older, less mobilr travellers
This is definitely one for the more mobile people. We were taken to the memorial, and then the Jeath museum, but then they take you in a boat to the Bridge. As an older couple, we were not able to get into the boat due to it being so the van drove us to Bridge. Getting onto the train was quite a step up, but we managed to get on and off. It was definitely worth the effort to be able to see what these amazing men achieve under unbelievable circumstances

          Great beach day!
We had a really great time at Banana Beach! We arrived to the marina and the staff provided us with towels and a beach bag to use for the day. We then got onto the boat to head to the beach. All of the staff on the boat and on the island were very kind and helpful. We had booked a specific excursion but found out while there we were not able to do it. The staff was very accommodating in switching our excursion to another option. We really enjoyed the snorkeling, the buffet lunch, kayaking, riding the banana boat and time to just relax on the beach.

          Relaxing day at National Park
The trip was great! We got off to a late start, which was good as our driver made sure everyone booked was in the trip. The journey to the pier was very quick. The team at the pier were well organised, and gave us stickers to denote which part of the trip we would be on. Very professional and friendly team. There were opportunities to take a bathroom and coffee break at the pier. When we arrived, you stay with the group which gets you your pass to the national park. You then take a bus to your destination, be it the beach or another region kn the island. Beautiful white sand. Remember do not take any shells or corals from the beach, as you will be fined. Calm waves and clear fwater, both many fish clearly visible.we opted for the meal included, which was chicken. However, there was a fish option if you state you don't eat chicken. The toilet and shower facilities were clean. Waterspouts was additional. We hired a paddle board for 400baht. All in all a good trip. Very relaxed easy and stress free day on the island. With the opportunity to make friends and relax with like minded people. Perfect for a solo, group, couple or family trip.

          Waste of money
This was a total waste of money. It was such a stressful day as we were yelled at to get in line. We were the only group of English speaking and it was very confusing. The boats were crowded and the island was a bust with hoards of people. Worst day ever we would not recommend this trip.

Very interesting place to visit. Have been to Thailand many times but not quite made it to Ayutthaya. First was a great guide and happy to answer my many questions. The buffet lunch on the cruise on the way back was amazing!! Would recommend this tour.

A wonderful experience with Elephants combined with a unique hotel.
The whole experience at this hotel is faultless and one of the best we have ever experienced. All the rooms are in large tents ( about 15 in total spread out over about 1km) which are extremely comfortable - AC and Heating with huge balconies and ours also had a jacuzzi. The food quality is outstanding and the staff delightful and so welcoming. The hotel is closely linked with the Elephant foundation and there are 6 elephants in the hotel grounds looks after by their Mahouts. The elephants join you at breakfast which is a unique experience and there are various opportunities to see the elephants with their Mahouts in the grounds and learn all about them.

An enjoyable tour with great sights & easy adventure
What an awesome day & activities - I can highly recommend this tour! Staff were friendly, skilled and helpful. Alpha & his team worked as a well oiled machine, appearing to enjoy their work making it a fun, safe and smooth experience. Communication was good. Surprisingly sufficient time for the individual activities & sights packed into one wholesome experience. At first, I was sceptical as the staff were paddling the kayak for you but this turned out to be really enjoyable & allowed better photo/video opportunities, which you will want. Food was varied, plentiful & delicious, with options available for vegetarians. Thank you for a truly unforgettable experience!

Private cars, selling in front of your hotel to the floating market. The trip to it costs 1500 baths, when you arrive at the place, you can buy 3 different tickets, from 4000, 5000, 6000 baths, depending on whether you also want to go out and see an elephant show, tigers etc.. we only took the sailing trip to 4000 baths for 2 pers. It's not worth the money, in old days, it was also for natives now it's only for tourists, and that's the goods you can get anywhere in Thailand. There's mule ordered in the canals, but garbage, plastic and bottles. For the price we pay, they could clear up.
We were also driven to the train market, a market that is made on the rails, but the train does not go there anymore. But very fun to experience.
The trip alone came to cost 6000 baths with drinking money, it was not worth it. The trip there takes Father's center 1.5 hours and longer on the home trip, as there is a lot of traffic.

We did a half day morning tour to Damneon Saduak floating market. It was an early start with a 6:20 am pick up. We were transferred to a big bus by taxi. The bus had plenty empty seats so we were comfortable. It is a rather long drive (2 hrs) so it can get boring.

The market was very busy and bustling. Do be honest there is nothing spectacular here. In fact it is probably better at one of Bangkok night markets.

Our tour guide and the tour company were very professional and I would highly recommend them.

Dear Lester, Thank you for your kind words of Tour East and of your tour guide. Totally understand that each person has his or her own tastes and I do regret that you did not feel the Damnern Saduak Floating Market was to your liking and regret if you went there expecting to find “spectacular”. ‘Very different’ might be a more appropriate description for the place, as it is certainly very different than Bangkok night markets or markets in western countries. Kind regards, Tour East

The concept of floating market is a novelty worth seeing. However it seems to have degenerated into selling of mass produced goods at a higher price than the city markets like Chatuchak. Authorities have tried to keep some originality by plying their boats with fruits, vegetables etc. As for the organising of our trip, viator/tour east had done a good job . The lady guide was knowledgeable and sensible
If you are short on time, this trip is avoidable

This was a nostalgic trip to the floating market I first visited over 30 yrs ago, together with trips on the klongs (canals) along which people lived in houses on stilts. What a nightmare! I spent Bt1500.00 on a taxi there & back and Bt2000.00 for a longboat and saw loads of tourists crammed into longboats which were all crammed together on the canals - with more vendors in shops, built along the filthy canals, clamouring for your attention. There is nothing authentic about such tourist hotspots in Thailand any more. While residents do buy from vendors in boats, the vast majority of vendors merely paddle around for tourists to buy stuff n take photos of them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience at the Floating Markets did not meet your expectations. However, we kindly ask for your understanding in this matter, as it seems there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the services. We are a tour operator that provides curated tours with professional guides and a comprehensive experience, not a taxi service or direct boat rental. Your review seems to primarily address the market itself and the mode of transportation you arranged independently, which are not part of the services we provide. While we respect your opinions about the Floating Markets, posting this review under our product listing may unfairly penalize our service, as it does not reflect the actual experience we offer. We kindly request that you consider relocating your review to a more appropriate listing focused on the Floating Markets themselves or the relevant transportation providers. We hope you can understand our perspective, and we would love the opportunity to provide you with an authentic and memorable tour experience in the future. Thank you for your cooperation, and we wish you safe and enjoyable travels ahead. Kind regards, Tour East Thailand

Left at 7:30am for a 70 mile trip one way bus trip. This bus took us to an area full of other busses and dropped us off at a dock full of large engined canoes. These long boats flew through some mangroves and canals that were full of trash. Floating Market had some yummy coconut ice cream and sticky rice. Lots of trinkets and souvenirs for sale. Waste of a day and $$ on a Toursit trap at best.

We did this tour with Gift our guide. Private pick up and journey to the markets. A fast speed boat into the markets which was brilliant fun and like something out of James Bond! Then we paid extra to get a row boat round the markets. Really good experience and glad we did it! It’s quite full on so it’s definitely good to have someone who knows the scene and keep you right! Also stopped at a market and coconut and orchid farm which was amazing. Gift was a great guide and we would highly recommend.

I am giving this a 5/5 simply because of the customer service. First off, you aren't just going to the floating markets. On the way to the floating market you stop by a coconut farm and then go to a longtail boat and then the floating markets. Like the others said, once you get to the floating market you do have to pay for your own paddle boat (150 baht per person).

The market itself was not amazing and not a true floating market. It's more like tourists on boats going to the stalls versus the other way around.

What made this trip amazing was the customer service. On our way to the coconut farm, my mom asked about roasted coconuts and a rare coconut that she had heard when she was in Vietnam and they went out of their way to help her find what she wanted.

I would definitely do another tour with this company but probably not to Damnoen.

We were looking forward to seeing lots of colours with some good photography.
We had a private driver , the journey still took 2 hrs from Bangkok.
It was heaving with tourists, we were taken round some of the backwaters first in a small local boat which had nothing to offer, then into the main floating market which was hugely disappointing. There were not so many boats selling their wares as they have now gone into the covered market areas which are just full of tourist rubbish.
A few older ladies are trying to make a living, but it has just become a show put on for the tourists.
We would not have bothered if we had known.
There are far better markets around the world.

Dear Vony18, Yes the journey is around 90 minutes as this is another province. The boat which you went on is approx 30 minutes which is right into the market itself. There is a platform which you mention where they have another market and then you have the floating market itself. Its not a show for the tourists as many locals will also visit here on the weekend. However thanks for your comments, Nick

Overcorwded, dirty, way overpriced and not worth the time. It is almost a 2 hour drive from Bangkok (we had a private driver so probably longer by bus). While the idea of touring the market was very appealing to us, we found it to be way too commercialized and not any better than any day or night market that you can walk around for free in any Asian city. We felt like we wasted an entire day by going to Danmoen.

The tour has evolved since many tourists visit this however they have still kept a large portion of this area away from the mass markets. This market is the still only place where the sellers still sell their fruit and vegetables, souvenirs, etc from their boats. You can not find this anywhere on the streets of Bangkok. Thanks for your comments however, Regards, Nick
