About
Nar Phu Valley Trek is a rugged and wild trek that takes you to the exotic valley of Nar Phu, one of the remote and alluring regions located on the north of Annapurna. This exotic land offers medieval Tibetan culture in undisturbed form, dramatic mountain views and great alpine scenery. Being a newly opened trekking destination, it is a seldom travelled route with a unique combination of high peaks and passes, glaciers, remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, yaks, Gompas and unique Himalayan cultures. Passing through the Chorten gate that labels the entrance to Nar Phu and traversing through the Himalayan pine trees, we encounter high plateaus and remote Tibetan villages built of stone. Nar Phu valley Trek is a restricted trekking trail. A special trekking permit through government registered Nepal trekking Agency and minimum two people are required to obtain Nar Phu valley trekking permit.

Day 07: Trek to Phu Gaon (4250m) Duration: 6- 7 hrs
We follow the Phu Khola, through an almost desert valley, enjoying stunning views of Kangaroo Mountain, Pokharkan and Amotsang Himal. It is a gradual incline today, not too difficult. The first migrants from Tibet settled in Phu Gaon nearly 200 years ago, we will stay here for the night in a very basic, local Teahouse
Day 08: Acclimatization day in Phu Gaon
We will stay an extra day here to acclimatize to the increasing elevation. We can wonder around the town, talk to the local people and visit the ancient monastery that was built by the first Tibetan migrants. basic, local teahouse,

You will not be disappointed when you reach the top and all your efforts will be worth it, you will be awestruck by a mountain paradise. 360 degree, panoramic views of these snow-capped, majestic mountains await you. We then descend down a very steep track to Ngwal and our teahouse for the night. Overnight at the tea-house,
Day 12: Trek to Manang (3540m) Duration: 4 hrs
A well-deserved and welcomed easy trekking route today, through the pine forest and local Manang and Gurung villages. Manang is one of the main villages in the area and is the home to a very beautiful monastery. We stay the night in a local teahouse. The level of accommodation now improves and probably seems quite luxurious compared to the teahouses of the previous nights in the more remote regions. Overnight at the Guesthouse
Day 13: Trek to Yak Kharka (4,110m) Duration: 3 - 4 hours
From Manang village, the trail crosses a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki above Manang, and then continues to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. The trail follows this valley northward, passing a few pastures, a scrub of juniper trees, as it steadily gains elevation. The trail further passes near the small village of Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roofs just below the trailhead. Now the trail goes through meadows where horses and yaks graze. After crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, the trail passes an ancient old Mani wall in a pleasant meadow and then reaches another small village of Yak Kharka. Little but Gradual ascent is the key to avoiding altitude problems. Overnight at Guesthouse
Day 14: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,600m) Duration: 3 - 4 hrs
We make our way to the foot of the pass, Throng Phedi today. Thorong Phedi is a small busy settlement catering to the needs of tired trekkers and climbers. Trekkers like us use this point as a base camp. Some visitors also attempt a hike to the High Camp today so that the next day can be easier for them. But, Himalayan Glacier’s team leader does not advise for this. Although we will have a tough day tomorrow, we stop at Thorong Phedi so that we can sleep sound rather than a risky sleep in higher altitude at High Camp. Overnight at Thorong Phedi. Overnight at Guesthouse
Day 15: Trek to Muktinath (3800m) crossing over Thorong La Pass (5416m) Duration: 6 - 8 hrs
Today, early in the morning, we start our climb to the pass. The initial stage of the ascend is very steep. As we approach the peak it becomes much sloppier. After making our way through rocky ridges, we will be on the top of the pass (5416m). The top offers an unexplainable 360 degree panorama of snow capped peaks extending northwards into Tibet. Looking back, we can view several peaks of Annapurna and in front of us is the unfathomable gorge of Kali Gandaki. Our trail then descends steeply down to Muktinath (3800m) an important pilgrimage sight for Hindus. It is a home to many ethnic Tibetans and holy Buddhists as well. Overnight at Guesthouse
Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2600m) Duration: 5 hrs
