We just came back from a 12 day private tour in Nepal and Bhutan, and I can’t recommend Himalayan Windows highly enough for organizing such an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the team was accommodating, caring, and incredibly helpful, ensuring every detail of the trip was seamless and tailored to our preferences. In Kathmandu, they showed us the best of the culture and nature, with a knowledgeable guide, Anish, who truly made each day special. The trip to Bhutan was equally magical, with their local collaborators, Piti and Mindu, giving us access to hidden gems and giving us insight into the local culture and history. What stood out most was how genuinely caring the entire team was—they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, well-informed, and enjoying every moment. Particularly appreciated swift and immediate access they provided to a medical treatment for our 8yo daughter (caught eye infection during the flight) - thank you Anup! They took care of all the logistics, so we could relax and immerse ourselves in the beauty of these two incredible countries. We were happy with the selection of hotel (6 different hotels during the tour) and restaurants and Anup, the owner, asked for feedback on each at the end showing true care and interest in client opinion. In my previous review, I forgot to mention that HW has a Specialist team who liaises and guides you leading up to EBC trek. I had Rafael Maior, who was incredible and answered all my queries in preparation for the trek. His guidance and support was very valuable in my accomplishing a successful EBC trek. We took the Nepal and Bhutan trip and it was AMAZING! The itinerary was straight forward and caught my attention but what really made me book this tour was how responsive and organized Anup was! From airport pick ups to arranging our airplane seats to view the Himalayas including Mount Everest, everything was smooth! The local tour guides were great especially in Bhutan. Guide Tshering Tashi made our stay extra fun and was really accommodating and friendly, driver Tenzin also! Nothing was rushed and was given ample time. This tour definitely exceeded our expectations and definitely one of my favorites. Both countries had a lot of surprises and a must visit! Definitely recommend!

Anup from Himalayan Windows ensured that we had a seamless and enjoyable experience trekking Poon Hill. He was always reachable via WhatsApp, and was quick to address any questions and concerns we had. He was also able to accommodate our requests - from creating and condensing our itinerary into a 3 day trek, to having an attached private bathroom at our tea houses and arranging a different pick up point higher on the trail to shorten our descent. All our end-to-end needs - including the securing of the trekking permit, booking of flights to/from Pokhara as well as pick-up and drop off to our hotels pre and post trek - were arranged and managed by Anup. As far as the Poon Hill trek itself, we were blessed with good weather and clear skies overall especially on summit day. Though there are a lot of stairs you’ll need to climb up and down, they aren’t too steep and the trek isn’t too physically demanding - it's definitely suitable for those new to trekking. The final push to the summit is only an hour, but you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Annapurna South, Annapurna 1, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail mountain). The tea houses along the way are also superb - great food, cozy rooms (some with attached private bathrooms), and best of all, hot showers! Our guide Ishwar was very knowledgeable and experienced - having spent over two decades in the industry - and was a supportive and reassuring presence throughout the trek. He made us feel comfortable to go at our own pace, and was always willing to take photos for us and ensured we were well fed and happy with our rooms. We also got to converse with him during mealtimes, which was an insightful experience. All in all, I'd highly recommend Himalayan Windows to anyone visiting Nepal!

From our initial inquiry about the tour to the moment we bid farewell at Kathmandu airport, Anup and the Himalayan Windows team have been going above and beyond to make this trip one we will never forget. Following Anup’s suggestion, we expanded our initial plan to add stops in Pokhara and Chitwan National Park, while our permits for Tibet were being processed. The itinerary that Anup put together for us was a perfect mix of culture and nature, adventure and leisure, and gave us a good taste of what Nepal has to offer, while leaving us hungry for more explorations in the future. Our guide in Nepal, Anish, was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around, and we shared many laughs and thought provoking conversations about culture and Buddhism, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Moreover, Anish generously facilitated our special requests such as getting a thangka mounted or buying gear for our jungle adventure. For him, nothing was ever too much to ask. We also couldn’t not mention our excellent driver Dipendra, who made us feel incredibly safe whether navigating the frantic traffic in the city of Kathmandu or winding dirt roads in the mountains. Safety really is the number one priority at Himalayan Windows and we could feel that every step of the way. We also appreciated the emphasis they put on supporting local businesses such as small boutique hotels, restaurants, local craftsmen etc. Visiting Tibet has been a long standing dream of ours and Anup, who handled all the paperwork for us, made the visa process quick and easy. Since we travelled during low season, Anup and Anish decided to join us for this leg of our journey as fellow tourists, thanks to which we got an opportunity to get to know them better on a personal level, making the trip all the more special. While in Lhasa, once again we found ourselves in the expert hands of Tashi and Norbu, who ensured the short time we spent there was a memorable one. We were incredibly lucky to witness the annual examinations at Drepung and Sera monasteries, making this one of the most special experiences of the entire trip. Having done a fair share of both self-organised and private guided tours, we can confidently say that Anup and the Himalayan Windows team are on top of their game, and whatever your dream adventure in the Himalayas may be, they can make it happen. The memories of this trip will forever live rent free in our heads and we’re already planning our future adventures with Himalayan Windows. Anup and his team were simply amazing, answering all my queries before embarking on the trip, up to the tiniest detail. Anup personally met up with me upon my arrival and on my departure. We cannot rate Anup and his team high enough for the excellently organised 10 weeks adventure across India, Nepal, Tibet, China. The attention to detail, from some 6 months before we started with creating an extensive itinerary including all the activities and destinations that we listed and advising many more interesting places and things to see on our epic journey. The guides in all countries where exceptionally good, and at all times we felt safe, comfortable and informed. The activities that we chose were with great partners of Himilayan Windows, Trekking in Annupuna, 3 days White Water Rafting, Safari, Helicopter to Everest, farmstay high in mountains in Buhtan, train journey acroos the Tibetian Plateau, were all pre organised by Anup's team, but during the whole trip they were in contact helping organise small activities, day trips and helping us get the very most from our experience. We would strongly recommend Himilayian Windows to organise any bespoke holidays/trips and adventures in these regions, at all times it felt like we were being guided by real proffessionals. After extensive research and reading reviews, we booked with Himalayan Windows and were able to customize a tour to Nepal and Bhutan. Anup and team were great to work with, and the trip was more than we hoped for. The flight from Nepal to Bhutan (sit on the left side of the plane) was incredible to see Everest - on the flight over we thought it was worth going to Bhutan just for the flight... But then we landed in Bhutan and absolutely loved the visit. Definitely use Himalayan Windows!

We were a group of 5 and from the very beginning, Anup quickly responded to any questions we had. The airport transfers were without a hitch, city tours were great, they arranged flights to Bhutan and back to Nepal. Tiger's Nest was amazing. Both Sonam and driver Don were very helpful on the hikes. The drive to Chitwan was long but it was awesome to see a tiger, rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, etc. Anup arranged a dinner and culture show on our last night. Very good experience. If I go back to Nepal, I will book with Himalayan Windows!

Himalayan Windows is a fantastic travel agency to work with and, dare I say, the best for tours in Bhutan and possibly in Nepal too. Professional and meticulous in planning to perfection. We've been more than satisfied with all arrangements and their professional ethics from our first exchange of emails and introduction about six months prior to our trip. They offered prompt and helpful replies to all our questions and helped us prepare our perfect itinerary, including a bird watching tour for my partner. They were also very honest at passing on Bhutan government’s special offers and tourist discounts, which lowered our costs. Whenever I contacted Anup, I felt like I am conversing with a good friend whom I can trust and rely on. His advice was invaluable and allowed us to make the most of our short (4D3N) trip in Bhutan. I decided to celebrate the festive season in a different way this year and booked a trip to Nepal. Anup and his team helped me arranged a trek to Mardi Himal, in the Annapurna region, which I was very much looking forward to do. He is willing to tailor your trip as it best fits you, available for any beginners question you may have and very quick at replying, flexible with payment options and genuinely caring about following up after the trek to see how the experience went all in all. The team that guided me through the trek were also incredibly professional and caring. Adapting to my pace, always checking in and very good partners to chat to and get to know Nepali's culture and way of living. I only have good words for the organization of the trip. My sister and I went on 3-day tour of Bhutan organized by Anup from Himalayan Windows Tours and conducted by our tour guide Sonam and driver Dawa. Our tour was customized to some special sites we wanted to see -- and Anup and Sonam did an outstanding job meeting our needs. We visited many sites in Paro and Thimphu, and the highlight of the trip was a hike to Tiger's Nest. Our guide, Sonam, did an excellent job encouraging us on the hike and was very knowledgeable about Bhutanese and Buddhist culture. The hotels and food were great! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bhutan and recommend a visit to this country under the guidance of Himalayan Windows Tours!

We are very satisfied with the service and everything worked out perfectly. We had actually only booked the tour to Everest Base Camp. Thanks to Anup's excellent service, we subsequently booked three additional tours through him. He also helped us with the China visa and arranged everything. Everything went smoothly from start to finish and Anup was always available! We are very grateful to Anup for the excellent service and can highly recommend him! Of course we will book future tours in Nepal through him again :-).

Just got back from a trip in Nepal and Bhutan. I rarely write reviews but Himalayan Windows and the founder, Anup, certainly deserve credit for what turned out to be a great trip with meticulous planning. Organise a solo trip starting with 3 days in Bhutan, followed by a day sightseeing back in Kathmandu, and then an Everest Base Camp trek, with guide and porter. Anup was responsive from the get go, always answering promptly to questions via email before the trip, and once I arrived in Kathmandu, came to personally greet me at the hotel with printed itineraries and to go through what I can expect. Bhutan went without a hitch, and well worth a visit. Everest Base Camp was a challenging hike, but Anup was available on WhatsApp and in contact regularly with the guide, as I looked to slightly adjust the hike as I went along (due to monsoon weather). We also had difficulty getting back out of Lukla (not unusual for time of year) so was able to organise an alternative route (hike plus jeep drive out). Himalayan Windows know what they are doing in the region. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trusted local tour company. James

I give Himalayan Windows my highest recommendation! Mr. Anup planned a fantastic week for my 10-year-old son and me - the hotels were outstanding and the experiences we had were unforgettable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our guide, Mr. Anish, who was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful. They both went above and beyond to make our time in Nepal the trip of a lifetime. I will definitely contact Himalayan Windows again when we return to Nepal!
