Amazing! Helped us learn a ton in a short time.
Sarita was simply incredible. She's clearly a passionate scholar of Nepali history, and was able to answer every question we had in great detail. She's also a fun hang! We really enjoyed spending two days with her and soaking up her knowledge of Kathmandu and it's incredibly intricate history. She was kind and flexible and able to respond to our different levels of comfort with different things at whatever time. We highly recommend booking with Himalayan Advisor but especially Sarita!

          Well informed guides
We had such a great time during our short stay in Kathmandu. Our guide Shanthi greeted us early in the morning and took us to see all the unesco sites. She gave us a clear history of Nepal and highlighted the important architectural significance of the symbols used in the Hindu and bhuddist temples. The views were obscured by the fog on the day but we had a most enjoyable time on our tour.

We saw just about everything in Kathmandu.
We saw just about everything in Kathmandu on this private tour. Shanti, our tour guide was knowledgeable on all the sites. This was all new to us so it was a lot of information to absorb. We even locked out and we say the Kumari. We got pamphlets at each destination so we can go back and match up pictures and names. Take plenty of water with you and maybe a snack. It can be a long day. We were gone from 9am -6pm.

          Wonderful Full Day Experience
Shanti was a terrific guide—professional and knowledgeable. Throughout the tour she was concerned about our interests and made sure all our questions were answered—always asking if we had any further questions. This tour was exactly what we hoped for expected. All the stops were informative and enjoyable. Shanti and the driver made this a very pleasant and memorable experience that we will cherish for a long time

          Excellent Tour and Guide
I did this on my own as I'd have never been able to get to all the place, especially in one day. My guide Shanti Karki was professional, friendly and full of information. We saw so much, even the royal Kumari! The driver was excellent, too. All in all a great and very well-organised tour which Is fully recommend!

All you need to see in Kathmandu without any hustle
After several attempts of being ripped off by the so called ‘guides’, which start literally the moment you exit Kathmandu airport and some strange ‘negotiations’, I found Himalayan Advisor on Trip Advisor and i booked a 12 hour tour of Kathmandu. I wanted a stress free and informative experience and I got exactly that! I was contacted by the owner of the company within the minutes of making my reservation, which was were professional and reassuring. He provided me with some details and gave me contact info to my actual tour guide Shanti. She sent me a what’s up message shortly after introducing herself and letting me know exactly what to expect on the day of the tour. She even suggested I take the umbrella, because she checked the weather forecast and it was supposed rain that day. The day of my tour Shanti showed up right on time and we started this awesome adventure. She graduated with a degree in Nepali history, so she was a wealth of information! She was also a nice counterbalance and a calming force for my intense and extrovert personality lol We have been talking and walking and climbing and marveling at the treasures of Kathmandu for the entire day. She showed me the city the ‘local way’ and accommodated all of my needs or requests. Nepali capital might be overwhelming and hard to navigate, so this tour of all the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu, especially with Shanti is a must.

What a beautiful experience/Views from the top
We were collected by our lovely guide Shanti, on our first day in Kathmandu. On the drive to the cable cars, Shanti gave us lots of information, the people and their way of life. Shanti accompanied us on the cable car and gave us lots of information about the area and the mountains. Once at the top, she explained about the temple and the gods and gave us some insights into Hinduism. We were lucky enough to visit on the Teej Women's Festival and we got some great photo opportunities of both the views and women in their beautiful saris. We would highly recommend this trip. Thank you Shanti for making our day so wonderful.

All UNESCO sites and the Royal Kumari
Sarita was an amazing guide. We had a slight mishap with the vehicle and she took care of it right away! We also had the pleasure to see the Royal Kumari which was one of the major highlights of the day. If you want to see everything in one day, this is the tour. Highly recommended.

          1 night in Nargarkot
Nargarkot is a real quiet little town where you can escape the crazy of Kathmandu. If you’re lucky you can see the whole himalaya from the top. The guide Shishir was great. Definitely worth a visit.

          Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful and memorable trip with our guide, Pankaj! He and the driver picked us up at the hotel as agreed (punctually), after which we headed to Nagarkot to view the sunrise over the Himalaya. If you're uncertain whether it is worth getting up for at 3.30 at night: Yes, it is! We had a clear blue sky and the views were magnificent. After plenty of time for enjoying the magic, we had a very good breakfast at Club Himalaya. Then a two-hour pleasant and easy walk in the hillside, which gives insight in Nepalese rural life. We finished the tour with a visit to a world heritage hindu temple. Pankaj spoke good Enhlish, was very pleasant to be with and very knowledgeable about the places that we visited. The driver drove responsibly and carefully, so that we felt safe all the way (there were seatbelts also in the back of the car, which is not that common in Nepal). I would definitely recommend taking a tour with Pankaj!

          Customized day trip
Shanti was wonderful! She was so flexible and accommodating to all of my needs. She worked much later than I think she was expecting but never complained. She is very knowledgeable but also personable. She was patient with me while I shopped and never made me feel rushed. I highly recommend Shanti!

The ”monkey montain” with stupa and Durban square (including the living godess); a very good introduction of Nepal and it’s history as well as some inportant landmarks of Kathmandu

It was my first time in Nepal and I scheduled this tour to get a thorough overview of the City's UNESCO heritage sites in the Kathmandu area. My guide - Rabina Khadka, was nice and very knowledgeable. She provided me with the history and significance of each place we stopped at as well as bore witness to the daily life activities of locals. We stopped at a school where students work Thangkas and learned about the art form. Overall the tour was an amazing learning experience and a great way to see all that Kathmandu has to offer.

This was an excellent tour to experience the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley. The guide Rabina did a wonderful job of explaining the history of the sites and has an amazing in depth knowledge of the associated legends. The tour was at a nice pace to be able to experience everything but not feel exhausted or overwhelmed. Rabina selected a wonderful restaurant for lunch that had a variety of dishes available including veggie options. I highly recommend this tour and tour guide.

This tour is exactly what we wanted . The 7 places are unique . We had a wonderful time and please ask for Rabina as your tour guide because she is an expert on the historical and arqueológical Nepali sites . They arrive on time to pick us up at the hotel and we had a wonderful experience that we won’t forget don’t think It is expensive because the ticket places are included and Rabina always takes care of the entrances so everything is done quickly . Also the tanka shopping and wood carving , healing bowls with Sajan was so good he made a great healing on my spine . This is a tour you must do if you go to Nepal don’t miss it . You will do an excellent review after you get the experience .We love it . Thank you Himalayan advisor , your tourist guide Rabina and your driver Abash .

The most comprehensive tour of Kathmandu Valley, including 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Entrance fees are included (which is not the case with many other providers). The tour description clearly names the places to be visited and is very reliable. Our guide Shanti is very knowledgeable and always prepared to answer any questions one might have. There is no time pressure to move on, so that each stop on the tour can be timed according to one's interests. The place for lunch is well chosen in terms of ambiance, food / drinks (incl. draft beer) and price. We can highly recommend Himalayan Advisor as provider and Shanti as guide.

This is the one “must do” day trip while vacationing in Kathmandu, and Rabina and her driver are a large part of this recommendation. No other tour combines all the major sites in a day. Rabina was on time, professional, and such a pleasant and knowledgeable guide making sure if I needed more time at a site or less time at another. Her restaurant selection was delicious and authentic. Her driver arrived in a clean and comfortable car and ably navigated the streets and traffic which is no small feat for Kathmandu. Highly highly recommend this tour with Rabina!

Wow! What an incredible tour! Shanti did an amazing job on this tour. Recommend that you request her by name when making your reservation! This tour is exactly as advertised- it is a full day, 12 hour tour that hits ALL of the major sights of the Kathmandu Valley. Shanti also timed the sequence of the tour to ensure that we saw them right when things were best. She was very helpful as we learned about all of the different temples, rituals, stupas, and history of the cities in the Kathmandu valley. She also was able to adjust the tour as needed for us, when we needed to skip or add stops.

I initially questioned the price, but this tour is worth it! Looking back and seeing what we accomplished over the span of twelve hours, it's actually quite a bargain! Transport and entrances were all included as part of the package. I will definitely recommend this tour and Shanti to any of my friends traveling to Kathmandu!

First the negative, you will never be able to remember all the information that you will be given. That said, the rest is as positive as it can be. My guide, Shanti Karki, was absolutely brilliant, explaining in detail all the temples, the architecture, the beliefs behind the carvings. She also kept me walking on the left side of the street - safer. This is a 9 hour tour and you will be simply carried away by what you see and hear. And the smell of jasmine incense and spices will bring it back to you. There is so much to see and take in that having a guide like Shanti (as well as a good driver) is essential. I had time to wait for the ideal photograph, we diverted to a painting school because I mentioned an interest. You would not get that flexibility on a larger, cheaper tour. If your time in Kathmandu is limited, this takes in all the "must see" places. This tour was worth every penny and then some. And the restaurant Shanti took me for lunch had a great view, great food and beaten rice - try it.

Tip: book this activity and you will be so happy with all you get to experience. This is a great way to see the world heritage sites and learn about their history and the local cultures. Our guide, Sarita, was a wealth of knowledge. She shared important historical information and also interesting facts about details of each of the sites. She told it in a way of storytelling that helped you understand the cultural practices and local way of life. It was so fun exploring the different areas with her. She was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. She always made sure we were okay and asked about preferences for our different visits. The major highlight of the day was seeing the Kartik Dance on Changunarayan. She tailored the experience around what was meaningful to us and happily answered our many questions along the way. She is passionate and an excellent guide. Our driver was also timely and safe, helping us get to the different locations with ease.

Loved the tour! We spent the day making our way across the city visiting the many temples and districts of Kathmandu... (The monkey temple was the favorite!) We arrived just in time to see the Royal Kumari. (Which many people missed out on!) We had a nice lunch at a temple cafe, and had some tasty homemade candy as wandered through some really interesting areas! The guide, Shanti, was VERY knowledgeable and managed to navigate us through the crowds and to rain with ease! Thank you for the spectacular tour!
