          Friendly guide and important sites
Extremely friendly guide! She told us the history of the Doleshwar Mahadev temple. The statue was impressive and also fun, we were there with some school groups and became local celebrities. What a great day!

Looking for a bespoke tour? Himalayan Advisors is your answer!
I highly recommend Himalayan Advisor and their attention to detail. I had an amazing time in Nepal! I reached out to them in advance of my trip and everything in Nepal has been scheduled, thought through and organised by Naba. The itinerary that Naba put together for me was a perfect plan allowing for me see the most of Nepal. My private trip was also considerate of my budget and my personal interests and requests. I had a number of different local guides who looked after me during the trip. Shanti was my absolute favourite guide! She picked me up from the airport on my first day and looked after me on 2 different occasions. Shanti is extremely professional, caring, she always provided really good information and answered all my questions. She was also able to recommend the best spots that were of interest to me. It was an unforgettable trip and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Shanti and Naba!

          Nice!
We’ll set up. Modern equipment nice ride up and down. View should be spectacular but we went rainy day (don’t do that). We ride zip line. Only 30 seconds for long one so very short but fun. Cost 800 rupees (@7$) each. Beer garden so so but dirty/moldy furniture (see photo). Probably a must on clear days!

          Great experience!
Wonderful experience going up to Chandragiri Hills with Shanti, our tour guide. The cable car ride was smooth. The skies were not clear on the day we went but we still had a great time and beautiful views of the city and temple. Shanti was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Would recommend.

          Fantastic trip
Really great trip. Kind and considerate company. When I was sick on the day of my tour, they happily postponed it for me and I booked the next day at short notice. Ananto was an excellent guide. He let me take things up my own pace and he was also very spiritually and culturally aware. He knew a lot about Namo Buddha and shared his knowledge. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and I highly recommend him.

          Om Shanti Shanti!
If I could put here 100 stars instead of 5, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Shanti, your guide on 7 Heritage UNESCO trip - is a star herself. Professional, polite, attentive, service-minded, smart and knowledgeable, I was so lucky to have her on my first day in Kathmandu. It’s worth every penny you pay for your private tour. I felt so welcome and safe during the whole day, this matters for solo travelers! It’s a lot of information to digest at once but at the same time it’s the best way to see all in one if you are limited in time and your guide will make sure you don’t get too tired or bored, always checking on you and leading with good pace. Shanti took great care of myself and my needs, and I’m very grateful she was my guide in creating all those amazing memories. Visiting Nepal was my dream since a while and this tour showed me so many reasons to fall in love with Nepalese culture. Thank you guys for this smooth experience, special thanks to Shanti!

Highly recommended as a starter / light activity
We did this tour on our first day in Kathmandu after arriving quite late the night before. We purposely picked this as we felt that the program is not too early & heavy for the first day. We were met by our guide Sarita at the hotel and we proceeded directly to the Cable Car station, about 40 mins from the center of the city. Once we reached the top of the Chandragiri hill we were able to see a large part of the Kathmandu valley and we were lucky enough that the sky was pretty clear which enabled us to spot a number of the Himalaya’s peak from a distance. The temple on the hill top has an important historical background as well. Overall, the activity was worthwhile as an intro to Kathmandu and recommended if you are looking for a light activity for half a day. We were great full to have Sarita assigned as our guide as she speaks very good english and very knowledgeable about everythingNepal & Kathmandu. Highly recommended to request for the service should you engage a tour with this provider.

Amazing! Helped us learn a ton in a short time.
Sarita was simply incredible. She's clearly a passionate scholar of Nepali history, and was able to answer every question we had in great detail. She's also a fun hang! We really enjoyed spending two days with her and soaking up her knowledge of Kathmandu and it's incredibly intricate history. She was kind and flexible and able to respond to our different levels of comfort with different things at whatever time. We highly recommend booking with Himalayan Advisor but especially Sarita!

          Well informed guides
We had such a great time during our short stay in Kathmandu. Our guide Shanthi greeted us early in the morning and took us to see all the unesco sites. She gave us a clear history of Nepal and highlighted the important architectural significance of the symbols used in the Hindu and bhuddist temples. The views were obscured by the fog on the day but we had a most enjoyable time on our tour.

We saw just about everything in Kathmandu.
We saw just about everything in Kathmandu on this private tour. Shanti, our tour guide was knowledgeable on all the sites. This was all new to us so it was a lot of information to absorb. We even locked out and we say the Kumari. We got pamphlets at each destination so we can go back and match up pictures and names. Take plenty of water with you and maybe a snack. It can be a long day. We were gone from 9am -6pm.

          Wonderful Full Day Experience
Shanti was a terrific guide—professional and knowledgeable. Throughout the tour she was concerned about our interests and made sure all our questions were answered—always asking if we had any further questions. This tour was exactly what we hoped for expected. All the stops were informative and enjoyable. Shanti and the driver made this a very pleasant and memorable experience that we will cherish for a long time

          Excellent Tour and Guide
I did this on my own as I'd have never been able to get to all the place, especially in one day. My guide Shanti Karki was professional, friendly and full of information. We saw so much, even the royal Kumari! The driver was excellent, too. All in all a great and very well-organised tour which Is fully recommend!

All you need to see in Kathmandu without any hustle
After several attempts of being ripped off by the so called ‘guides’, which start literally the moment you exit Kathmandu airport and some strange ‘negotiations’, I found Himalayan Advisor on Trip Advisor and i booked a 12 hour tour of Kathmandu. I wanted a stress free and informative experience and I got exactly that! I was contacted by the owner of the company within the minutes of making my reservation, which was were professional and reassuring. He provided me with some details and gave me contact info to my actual tour guide Shanti. She sent me a what’s up message shortly after introducing herself and letting me know exactly what to expect on the day of the tour. She even suggested I take the umbrella, because she checked the weather forecast and it was supposed rain that day. The day of my tour Shanti showed up right on time and we started this awesome adventure. She graduated with a degree in Nepali history, so she was a wealth of information! She was also a nice counterbalance and a calming force for my intense and extrovert personality lol We have been talking and walking and climbing and marveling at the treasures of Kathmandu for the entire day. She showed me the city the ‘local way’ and accommodated all of my needs or requests. Nepali capital might be overwhelming and hard to navigate, so this tour of all the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu, especially with Shanti is a must.

What a beautiful experience/Views from the top
We were collected by our lovely guide Shanti, on our first day in Kathmandu. On the drive to the cable cars, Shanti gave us lots of information, the people and their way of life. Shanti accompanied us on the cable car and gave us lots of information about the area and the mountains. Once at the top, she explained about the temple and the gods and gave us some insights into Hinduism. We were lucky enough to visit on the Teej Women's Festival and we got some great photo opportunities of both the views and women in their beautiful saris. We would highly recommend this trip. Thank you Shanti for making our day so wonderful.

This was one of the best guided tours I have done. My guide for the day , Ananta, was excellent. He is an amazing storyteller and has a wealth of knowledge on many topics. He happily answered all my questions , and I learned so much listening to him . He was great company and easy to talk to throughout the day , he often offered to take photos and suggested an amazing restaurant for lunch . Ananta paced our stops well and always made sure to ask if I was doing okay, I really appreciated his concern for my well-being and not just ticking off the stops we needed, too. As a Hindu, I gained so much from this tour because of Ananta and his willingness to go into detail if I needed with regard to certain sites or topics .

Our driver was always nearby and ready to leave whenever we needed. He was excellent on the roads, a safe and courteous driver who maneuvered through Kathmandu's busy roads calmly and with easy .

This tour covers alot in one day , so expect a long day with lots of walking but one that you'll experience and see alot , so its great value for money , especially if you're only in Kathmandu for a short period of time, this tour ensures you get a good dose of the culture while fitting in all the important heritage sites.

Another great thing about this tour , is that all the admission fees to sites are included, so it saves you from having to carry around cash and dealing with any language barriers had you done this on your own .
I highly recommend this tour, and Ananta, his professionalism and impressive knowledge of all things Nepali , has truly left me with memories I will cherish forever.

With limited time in Kathmandu I booked this tour as it covered the UNESCO sites I wanted to visit. I was not disappointed—in fact very very pleased with how smoothly it all transpired.

My guide, Rabina, with her Master’s degree in Nepalese culture and heritage was acutely knowledgeable of each site and its history and the various stages of restoration through the recent earthquakes and centuries of wear.

Having a personal driver expedited the challenging traffic and perilous road conditions in-between locations as he was always ready and waiting for us at the completed of each site tour.

It took all of 12 hours to complete the entire tour but, that included shopping time which I wanted in-between locations and an authentic Nepalese lunch at a local restaurant.

I highly recommend this tour as an excellent value for the personalized touches, the convenience of a personal driver, and the knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to help me process all the history and information that was imparted in such a fast track, crash course manner.

        Namaste,

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with the tour organized by Ananta in Kathmandu! From the moment we started, the guide demonstrated a deep knowledge of Kathmandu’s rich history and culture, making every stop feel like stepping into a storybook.

The itinerary was well-balanced, allowing time to explore iconic landmarks like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa while also visiting hidden gems that I would have never discovered on my own. What stood out most was the personal touch—our guide made sure to tailor the experience to our interests, offering fascinating insights into local traditions and even introducing us to authentic Nepali cuisine along the way.

Their professionalism, punctuality, and warm hospitality made this tour seamless and enjoyable. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning to Kathmandu, I highly recommend Ananta as a guide. This experience truly elevated my trip and left me with unforgettable memories!

We enjoyed a very full day checking out religious shrines and other significant structures throughout the city. Our guide Ananta was very knowledgeable about the history of the sites but also a variety of contemporary topics about life in Nepal. His English was excellent and his experience traveling in other countries made him ideal for educating us. The trip also includes a driver who safely navigated the dynamic traffic and was always ready to whisk us to the next destination. I recommend this tour as a great introduction to Nepal and Kathmandu!

Shanti was an excellent guide on the seven UNESCO site tour and was extremely knowledgeable about each statue and temple we encountered and asked about on the tour. She was a great photographer and knew all the best places to capture the sights and was helpful on learning the religious and historical context of all the places we encountered. This tour was extremely convenient with the prices and ride all included.

This tour was a win from start to finish! The company contacted be the night prior to confirm the pick up time and location, and let me know who my guide would be. Kabita arrived right on time. The tour was absolutely amazing and Kabita really made the trip wonderful by taking the time to explain so much about each site, information that would have been completely missed had I tried to see all of the sites on my own. I feel so fortunate to have been able to see and learn so much about Nepal, Kathmandu, Hindu and Buddhism in such a short time. Kabita was also helpful in helping me find and bargain for souvenirs. The car was nice, new, clean and cool, and the driver was great, even the coffe and lunch break locations were very nice! This was a wonderful, jam packed tour, and a great experience. I definitely recommend this tour and Himalayan Advisor, Kathmandu!

While planning our trip to Kathmandu, one of the highlights was the concentration of UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. With that in mind, we opted to do this tour as all fees would be included. The tour operator was great with communication, letting us know who our guide was (Shanti) and confirmed our tour the day before. Shanti met us in our hotel lobby and directed us to the car. We were delighted to see this would be a private tour as it was just my partner and myself, along with Shanti and the driver. Shanti was warm and friendly and answered all questions that we had. She described each site in detail and we got to see sites beyond the 7 UNESCO sites that were listed on the itinerary. My partner also has a hobby of collecting (and sending) UNESCO postcards and Shanti helped us locate a treasure trove of postcards. After a delicious Nepali lunch in Bhaktapur, Shanti also helped my partner locate some Nepali hats that he was looking for, and a Hindu thangka that he was looking for. She far exceeded our expectations for this tour. Not only did we get expert explanations for each site, we got wonderful shopping help as well. We felt safe with our driver as well, getting from each site. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and if you are lucky, you will have Shanti as your guide.

This was an excellent tour of Katmandu for anyone short on time. In one day I saw all the major sites of the city. There is no way I could have done this on my own. I booked this after reading the other positive reviews and I have to agree with them. Shanti was an excellent tour guide. She has her degree in tourism and is getting a masters in Nepali history. She was so informative and I learned so much (even though I know a good deal about Hinduism and Buddhism).

She was also very flexible (even though we were on a tight schedule she allowed me to do a little shopping in the street).

Our driver did an exceptional job navigating the very crowded streets and the car was very comfortable.

I highly recommend this tour! Ideally if you have more time and can split it into two days you may prefer it so you can spend more time at each site (though I felt like I saw everything I wanted to).

First the negative, you will never be able to remember all the information that you will be given. That said, the rest is as positive as it can be. My guide, Shanti Karki, was absolutely brilliant, explaining in detail all the temples, the architecture, the beliefs behind the carvings. She also kept me walking on the left side of the street - safer. This is a 9 hour tour and you will be simply carried away by what you see and hear. And the smell of jasmine incense and spices will bring it back to you. There is so much to see and take in that having a guide like Shanti (as well as a good driver) is essential. I had time to wait for the ideal photograph, we diverted to a painting school because I mentioned an interest. You would not get that flexibility on a larger, cheaper tour. If your time in Kathmandu is limited, this takes in all the "must see" places. This tour was worth every penny and then some. And the restaurant Shanti took me for lunch had a great view, great food and beaten rice - try it.

It was perfect, Shanti, our guide has all the knowledge possible to explain every detail in each step we were.
The timming in each place was good. The driver was always on time, it was a really good experience for those that don't have much time to visit it all.
