About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ashishxiangyik0 contributionsFantastic ABC Trek in Dec 2024Had a fantastic time with Mount Face doing the Annapurna Base Camp trek in early Dec 2024. Guides/porters Dipu and Ram, our two guides, were fantastic to work with. Exceptionally friendly and hospitable, and willing to match my rather chaotic energy on trail. At the same time, professional and meticulous in planning the days’ routes – we got a good briefing every evening about what we’d be doing the next day. They also cater to hikers of different levels of experience – rest assured that if you’re a slower hiker, they’ll be cheerfully with you every step of the way. (And you want to go fast, they’ll let you run ahead – just meet up with everyone at the next rest stop.) The porters (Matsyendra, Dinesh, Ram (a different Ram), Raju, Praveen) were a fun and helpful bunch too – Dinesh gave me his buff after I left my beanie on a bush and never saw it again, and if I recall Praveen did most of the trek in a pair of suede Nikes. Shoutout to Dipu for going the extra mile when I texted him some days before the trip to ask about a drone permit; he went down to the district office to get things sorted out for me and charged nothing for it. So: exceptional service. Itinerary Mount Face provided end-to-end service on this trip. Met us at the airport, brought us to the hotel, arranged for all our flights and rides within Nepal. A nice touch was that for the flights to/from Pokhara, they made sure we got the best seats – I managed to see the nearly the whole of the magnificent Annapurna Massif passing us by. The itinerary was very well planned – each day on the trek was very different, and we were also given sightseeing in Pokhara and Kathmandu as a fun bonus. The itinerary was a very good mix of pre-planned and spontaneous stuff; if you wanted to walk into a thangka painting school to learn more, Dipu would happily accommodate. If you wanted to tour a Himalayan village, that would be organised; if you wanted to stay at the hotel and watch the sunset, you’d be free to do that too. One of the highlights was a spontaneous (and delicious) barbecue we had on the rooftop of our hotel at Jhinu Danda prepared by the porters. A bunch of us ending up dancing on the roof too (the Jackson’s 5 “ABC” featured), because why not? And at the Jhinu hot springs, the porters managed to find and fill one of the empty pools for us to use. Accommodation, food Our accommodation was excellent, within the natural constraints imposed by being high in the Himalayas. Dipu seems to know exactly which roofs of which buildings offer the best views, and plans meals, tea breaks, and overnight stops accordingly. The view from the roof of our hotel in Ghandruk in particular was heart-stopping, and a couple of us enjoyed a full sunset and sunrise there. While it did get cold at night, we were given fair warning and a very comprehensive packing list, so that never became an issue. The food we enjoyed on trail was excellent and cheap, and several of us joked that this might be the only trail we did where we’d leave fatter than when we started. (Tip: load up on the dal bhat and Gurung bread sets.) The regular tea breaks we had on trail were very pleasant – gave all the hikers strung out along the trail to bunch back up, and just generally chill for a bit. Twice (at Ghandrunk, and in the sub-zero cold of base camp) the few of us who got up very early for the sunrise were surprised by Dipu and the porters magicking out of nowhere with hot tea. We were the only group who got this treatment, so that says something. Safety We were very well taken care of. Dipu gave us lots of warning about altitude sickness and tips for staying warm. He’s also got a stash of Diamox on him, so don’t worry about that. The concern for safety went beyond the usual things to stuff like advice on how to deal with donkeys (stay on the inside of the path) and what to eat/drink (avoid too much dairy/alcohol on the way up, but feel free on the way down). Since I was one of the more experienced hikers and generally ok with being a little cold I carried little more of my own gear (mostly camera stuff), but was constantly being gently prodded to unload more stuff on the porters and layer up, which I found very endearing. I slashed a chunk of two fingers wide open (I ran up a staircase at the hotel in Lower Sinuwa a little too fast and caught a sharp metal edge on the railing) on day 2 of the trek, and was immediately tended to by Dipu and Ram, who promptly sterilised/bandaged the wound and changed the dressing regularly. So firsthand, I can say the first aid is solid! Cost For what you’re getting, this is *cheap* -- we paid a smidge under $1200 per head for 10+ days of trekking/sightseeing, and basically all food, travel, and accommodation was covered. Remember to tip generously!Written 21 December 2024
- aniewial0 contributionsOnly the best provided for Annapurna Base Camp Trek + Pokhara and Kathmandu sightseeing.Dipu was my assigned guide when I previously did the EBC + Gokyo lake trek. I was very well taken care of then, and naturally decided to entrust him with my next trek to ABC. Only this time, Dipu had started working independently for his own company (Mount Face Nepal) and I had 8 other friends join. Dipu curated the best itinerary for the 11 days we had and thoughtfully included sightseeing to the various highlights (UNESCO heritage sites) as it was most of the group’s first time in Nepal. The package was very reasonably priced given that it covered almost all expenses (incl. most meals while trekking, all accommodation and transport, new trekking poles, sleeping bags). Most of all, what stood out was Dipu and his team of guides and porters’ hospitality and friendliness. The team always went the extra mile to ensure our comfort, our safety, and our trek’s success, with lots of encouragement. Some examples of Dipu and the team going the extra mile: 1. ensured we were well taken care of the moment we landed in Kathmandu, with seamless end-to-end transport (incl. for early arrivals/departures) 2. made sure that we got the seats with the best views for the flights to-and-fro Pokhara 3. we the only ones enjoying hot tea while watching the sunrise at ABC, while everyone else was freezing 4. surprise BBQ towards the end of the trek, and arranged for a group dinner before we left for the airport (because there were no restaurants in the airport) despite this not being covered My friends and I will definitely return for future treks in Nepal with Dipu and Mount Face Nepal, and we cannot recommend him any less!Written 16 December 2024
- AdilH2170 contributionsAmazing hospitality and great guidance!Great Annapurna base camp trek experience, thanks to guides Dipu and Ram, who set a comfortable pace and were very proactive in taking care of us when we had issues; they also went the extra mile with the barbeque and various other aspects of the trek. Porters were friendly and very helpful!Written 12 December 2024
- samuelcY9663CO0 contributions10/10 ABC TrekI did the ABC trek. Dipu was our guide — he was knowledgeable of the terrain, weather and trek. Throughout the trip, he always placed our welfare first and ensured we were safe and had an amazing trek up and down. The views from ABC were stunning and definitely worth the every step!Written 11 December 2024
- yi l0 contributionsThe most hospitable teamThank you Dipu & team for the experience! They ensure that you are always well taken care of throughout the trip, often going above and beyond what is required. Food selection for the trek was also great- beware, you might just end up eating much more than you thought you would! :-)Written 9 December 2024
- janicelhmx0 contributionsBEST EXPERIENCE IN THE MOUNTAINS!We had the best time with Dipu and his team throughout the entire trek! The team was hospitable, had amazing vibes, and made sure we were extremely well taken care of! Definitely hit them up for trekking adventures in Nepal!Written 7 December 2024
- Companion7579040 contributionsHospitable team & incredible sightsDipu, his assistant guide Ram, and his (sup)porters - Matsyendra, Dinesh, Ram, Raju & Praveen - provided some of the most hospitable service on our trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Seeing as it was my first ever multi day hike, I was not the most seasoned or well prepared trekker on the trail, but Dipu ensured that I was always accompanied by a porter if not himself, and I never once felt unsafe or unaccounted for during the trip. The itinerary was very feasible and the pace felt comfortable overall - enough for us to admire the gorgeous scenery along the way while making our trek to ABC. Dipu’s choices for tea houses, rest stops, places to go were excellent, and provided so much variation for our trek, that I felt like not a minute was wasted. Most commendably, Dipu and his team remain ever humble and eager to improve, constantly asking for and taking feedback seriously - so if you’re ever looking for a trek in Nepal led by the most sincere team - I would look no further than Mount Face Nepal!Written 7 December 2024

Can’t describe how much this experience meant to me and how life-altering it was — in the best possible way, of course. No trip is seamless and perfect, and for every challenge, our guides were always there to accommodate. Special shout-out to Sumir for ensuring that our needs are tended to and for going out of his way every single time.Written 12 November 2022

We’ve done many hikes around the world from Kilimanjaro , Patagonia. Choqouquiro route to Machu Picchu. This one by far was the most scenic and rewarding. It was not easy. You had to be physically fit and mentally tough, but totally worth it. I would highly recommend the Himalayan adventure and trek company to manage your itinerary. They were fantastic!!

There are not enough words to begin to express how happy I am to have gone with Everest thrill after months of searching for the right tour company to not only lead me to EBC but to also help me successfully summit island peak. The reviews led me here, and I was not disappointed. As a solo traveller I am also skeptical about who I choose to be my climbing guides, but Everest thrill ensured I was left in the best hands! ( thank you Bhudhi) Amir was kind, patient, and completely understanding to all my concerns I had with climbing a solo peak on my own, but I am so happy I went with them. The whole team was wonderful, fun and made my experience in the Himalayas a once in a lifetime memory that most only dream
Of. I can not wait to do the Annapurna base camp with them as well

My friends and I joined the 18 days EBC trek organised by Mount Face Nepal in Jan 2018, it was very well planned with detailed itinerary and warm reminders. Our guide Sumir Gyawali is the best, he is very patient and helpful, that he makes sure we are all comfortable and enjoyed the trip! Thank you very much for taking care of us when we were sick in the mountains, he has very good knowledge of acclimatisation, as well as good connections with the Sherpa people! His positive attitude lifted us up even when we were a bit frustrated. We develop a good friendship after the trek, and I am sure we will meet again!!
When we were back to Kathmandu, Kisan invited us for a dinner with live cultural dance, it was a very special experience!
Thank you again for Mount Face team, I am looking forward to trekking with you guys again in the future!

Kisan have been always a soft spokent and humble guy who helped me thru the planning of EBC with all the arrangements from the time i stepped foot in KTM, He was professional and at the same time a very friendly chap that helped me ease all the tension as a stranger in a new place. He`s recommended guide was Mr Buddhi who has the vast experience in the Himalayas and brought me and my wife with lots of care and concern. Customer service in the mountains was well met.
I will recommend anyone who plan to trek or climb a mountain in Nepal to get in touch with Kisan and he can not only cater to it but also customize a well suited one just for you and team. I will for sure go back to him for my next expedition.

I trekked with these guys in May 2017 for the Everest Base Camp trek. Our guide was Ganesh, he was great with good knowledge of the treks, lodges, etc, at the same time very flexible to adjust the trek for our needs. Everything was organized perfectly both before and during the trek. Highly recommend them for your trekking adventure in the Himalayas!
