What to expect
  • After morning pickup at your accommodation in Kathmandu, drive to Patan, which is located on the opposite side of the Bagmati River. Upon arrival, begin a walking tour of Patan Durbar Square to see its stunning architecture. In the courtyards of Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk, your guide points out the features of Newari architecture that make this site famous. You also watch a demonstration of carpet weaving during a visit to a Tibetan handicraft center at Jawalakhel. Next up, head to reach Bhaktapur, which is also referred to as Bhadgaon by locals. The medieval city has its own famous Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site with attractions such as the Golden Gate, Lion Gate, Potter’s Square, National Art Gallery, and the 55-Window Palace—once the royal seat of Nepal. Take a break for a traditional lunch in the square. Your tour ends with return to your Kathmandu accommodation.

Patan and Bakhtapur Day Tour
Our guide was Bidaya and we enjoyed her explanations and conversation very much. She shared a lot with us about the historic sites we visited, the religious meanings we encountered and more genetally about life in Nepal. Patan and Bakhtapur are fascinating areas well worth a vist.

A good day trip, plenty of time in both towns and very knowledgeable guide
Dec. 2017 • Solo
My guide Giyanu and driver Ashish where both very polite, professional and knowledgeable.
The traffic was very heavy due to a festival, but Ashish managed to get us through peacefully.
is very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to take photos and look at what interested us.
Very good day trip, much easier that trying to do oneself.
