Pashupatinath Temple and Bodhnath Stupa Tour from Kathmandu
From USD 58.00
Overview
Pashupatinath—dedicated to Shiva, the patron deity of Nepal—is one of the world’s holiest Hindu temples, and Boudhanath is a 14th-century Buddhist stupa located within Nepal’s “Little Tibet.” This tour visits both UNESCO-listed religious sites in Kathmandu. You’ll even have a chance to meet a well-known Nepali astrologer for an optional reading. A small group makes for an intimate atmosphere, and the tour includes all entrance fees for a seamless experience.
What to Expect
After meeting your guide at a centrally located Kathmandu hotel, ride with your guide to Pashupatinath via public transportation.
Once there, you’ll have a chance to meet the bearded, ash-smeared holy men known as sadhus. Your guide will be on-hand to teach you about Hindu beliefs and the importance of Shiva, the 3-eyed god who is Nepal’s patron deity. Next, you’ll hop a local bus to the stupa of Boudhanath, which draws pilgrims from all over the world. You can join Buddhists in circling the world-famous landmark, rotating prayer wheels as you go.
Your guide will also introduce you to resident monks, who will share insights into local Buddhist traditions. For an even deeper immersion into Nepal’s spiritual traditions, upgrade to have your stars read in consultation with a famous local astrologer.

Spiritual Nepal

Beautiful tour with Amit. He was knowledgeable and was very happy to take photos. Even using his own camera, the photos were stunning! Highly recommend Amit Banmala!

An experience you must have in Kathmandu

I toured the temple and stupa and also stayed for the priest lighting ceremony in the evening. It's not to miss. Not only sacred but very festive and gives you a true feel of Kathmandu. It's attended by many locals.

Interesting but expensive

Attended the so called Spiritual tour in early November 2017. Very good guide, a young woman named Gyanu, and she spoke just about the best English I ever heard in Kathmandu. But why, according to the costs in Nepal, so expensive? Over 50 US dollars...More
