Akagera National park game viewing in Rwanda was very enjoyable and the tour guide called Venous was the best and very knowledgeble about wildlife because we managed to search for the big five mammals plus species of birds.

A group of friends and I visit an African country each year. Kigali was our pit stop for October 2019 and we needed a tour company to provide us with a tailored package that included navigating the popular tourist sites and getting to see the real Kigali! Liz and her business partner Claudine did not disappoint; their professional approach was second to none and we received great recommendations re tourist sites to visit, restaurants to eat and coffee shops/ bars to chill. Our own dedicated tour guides and coach service made getting around easy. Our first stop was the Akagera National Park followed by visits to the Genocide Memorial and Parliament Museums. A sumptuous lunch at the Hotel des Mille Collines aka "Hotel Rwanda" followed by individual visits to local markets and galleries followed. Our evening ended with a Kigali bar-crawl! An amazing road trip at the crack of dawn to Rwesero to enjoy the lake Muhazi and King Fish Beach Resort kicked off our 2nd day! The scenery was as good as the food! To top it off a bonfire was organised where we chilled appreciated the nature! The night ended with an amazing rooftop reception in Kigali while we rounded up our city tour on the last day and spent the final evening at the renown Piri-Piri spot. I would highly recommend Phonenix Travel & Tours as they showed a deep knowledge of the entire landscape and definitely provided a rounded experience for us. One thing the group unanimously agreed on was that a second visit was necessary!

Nothing beats nature, we enjoyed it though we didn't get to see some of the big 5 like lions and Leopards hopefully next time but we managed to see the Elephants,zebras,Impalas,buffaloes,gorillas,monkeys giraffes,crocodiles and many species of birds.Akagera is stunning with plenty of beautiful views of lakes,mountains and plains all situated within the park. We liked our stay at Akagera Game Lodge in the park though the noise of the small monkeys on top of the roof was not what we expected and hoping it will be checked in future because it can make it hard to sleep besides that we loved the game drive led by Mr Clement who worked tirelessly and effectively to give us the best experience. The boat trip on the lake was thrilling fun,such an incredible scenery and wildlife because we managed to see the exotic birds and lolling hippos.the Akagera team were hospitable,meals were nice,generally the whole extraordinary adventure,thanks to Phoenix Tour and Travel Company. We really enjoyed our safari to Akagera NP. Clement, the driver, was very knowledgeable about the park and where to spot the animals. Game drives were very nice, as well as the boat tour in Lake Ihema. Excellent price / quality value. I recommend it.

I was very impressed with the park. Unfortunately we came in the afternoon and so was not able to see all the big 5. However we saw the hyena, Elephants and buffalo though. It was a well organised tour made even more interesting and informative by our excellent tour guides, Liz Tuyisenge and Coco. A 2 hour trip from the centre of Kigali which gave us a perfect opportunity to see a bit of the country side. I definitely will go back for a repeat performance.

We had great sightings of different animals especially Elephants and Zebras. It was the best game drive Safari had experienced. We saw the different Lakes, about 6 of them, within the massive Game Reserve, including the biggest, Akagera Lake, which is on the border between Rwanda and Tanzania. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and our Tour Agent, Phoenix Tour and Travel Company, ensured the entire visit went smoothly.

The entire tour was quite memorable and very informative. It was well arranged and co-ordinated by our Tour Agents (Lise and Coco) Phoenix Tour and Travel Company. It was a great experience for us, being our first time in Rwanda. The company was vey professional and their attention to our specific requirements was apt!
