- Odyssey4529730 contributionsAn amazing and memorable family holiday. This has been an amazing and memorable family first trip to Africa. Claire is very prompt to reply to all my questions She helped to organised and plan the trip to suit our family of 5. Daniel our guide is very knowledgeable on all the wildlife. He has eagle sharp eyes and can spot an animal/birds miles away so we don't miss anything. We also learnt a lot on Namibia (culture, people, places and food) from Daniel. We all had a great time travelling across Namibia and safari at Ethosa Park. We misses Namibia and hope to be back one day. Thank you Claire and Daniel from the Lai family from SingaporeWritten 10 August 2024
- Trail3692950 contributionsHighly recommended city tour with PetrusWe went on the half day City tour with Petrus from Lark journeys. Petrus was an exceptional guide and explained aspects of Namibian culture and history in a very accessible and engaging way. He made the tour informative, moving and inspiring for me and my 17 year old daughter. We learnt so much and it was a really good introduction to the country. Visiting the township, market and women’s project topped off our enriching experience with Petrus whom I would highly recommend as a guide.Written 4 August 2024

- 624ladislavas0 contributionsFantastic experience in Namibia with ElvisI don't even know where to start. Our 11-day trip to Namibia organised by Claire and guided by Elvis was one of the best experiences we have had on our family travels. The country is so varied and beautiful, we are very grateful we had Elvis with us to show it to us and talk us through its different aspects, including history, culture and wildlife. He was very kind and knowledgeable and great company. He was absolutely fantastic at spotting animals that we would not have seen without him. Even now, upon our return, I can't quite believe what we saw and experienced, from the desert hike to game drives and beautiful lodges and fantastic food. Our three teenagers had the best time. Thank you, Elvis, for spending the time with us. We will treasure the memories forever.Written 21 July 2024
- emilyhI608MB0 contributionsAmazing Week!We spent three weeks traveling around Southern Africa for our honeymoon, and our week in Namibia with Lark Journeys was far and away our favorite week. Our guide Elvis was so knowledgable and has truly seen every inch of Namibia. All of the accommodations were way beyond our expectations, and they were all lovely to rest in after a long day's drive. If you're planning on visiting Namibia, you won't regret booking with Claire and Lark!Written 8 July 2024

We have seen many places and lucky enough to see many animals. Beautiful sunsets and above all, always feeling safe, as it was our first time in Africa. Without a doubt I recommend it 100%, it is a unique experience and above all one that you will surely remember forever.Written 4 July 2024
- 979jackw0 contributionsBrilliant 17 day self drive 4x4 trip around Namibia!Claire and Lark Journeys are the best! My girlfriend and I went on a self drive, 17 day, road trip around Namibia organised by Lark Journeys. I had in mind several places and activities I wanted to do whilst in Namibia. I provided this, along with a general budget, to Claire who suggested an itinerary . The communication was very quick, clear and transparent. My girlfriend being South Korean meant she needed a visa unlike myself as a Brit but Claire helped us sort this out with ease. Claire met us at the airport with lots of maps, useful info, travel guides and a mobile SIM which made our lives so much easier setting off in the car. We opted to do roughly 50:50 between lodges and camping so we hired a 4x4 with a roof top tent which was easy to pick up and never failed us on the way round. Claire was always on the end of the phone whenever we needed any help or suggestions. She recommended lots of nice places to eat, cafes you'd miss if you didn't know they were there and most importantly, helped us when the occasional issue came up with bookings on the 3rd party end. We had one incident with some problematic police officers which Claire helped resolve through a phone call with one of the officers. This help in itself was worth booking with Lark Journeys! Thanks to Claire and Lark Journeys we had the trip of a lifetime and we're already thinking about heading back next year for round 2!Written 29 June 2024
- bychen_nyc0 contributionsWonderful introduction to NamibiaThe 10-Day Discover Namibia Small Group Safari itinerary is a great introduction to Namibia, and Lark Journeys offers an enjoyable experience. Communication with Claire throughout the entire booking process was easy and quick. She answered every question I had. Everyone at Lark Journeys is welcoming, dedicated, and passionate about what they are sharing about the country to their customers. Upon arrival, everything went smoothly with comfortable and unique lodgings and a good balance of daily activities with long driving distances. Michael, the guide, was very informative and easy going; I learned a lot from him and others throughout the trip.Written 28 June 2024
- 388ellenl0 contributions12 Days Custom Tour of Namibia - ExcellentClaire of Lark Journeys was prompt and efficient in replying to our enquiries and customizied a 12-day tour for our grou of 26. The tour guide, Abel, was knowledgeable and did an excellent job. The driver, Rudolph, took good care of us driving long hours most days. The accommodations are of high standard. The dinner buffets were tasty with lots of food options. We started with an afternoon game drive into the Kalahari Desert, saw eland, gembok, springbok, oryx, giraffe and wild wildlife. The tour ended with drinks and snacks and a beautiful sunset desert view. We also visited the Namib Desert and the famous Dune 45 and Dead Vlei. In Swakopmund, we had a quad bike ride along the scenic coastal desert which was fun and exiting. In Damaraland, we had the chance to see the elusive desert elephants. Namibis is one of just two countries in the world (the other Mali) where the elephants have specially adapted to harsh desert environments. We had 2 nights in Etosha West and saw many zebras, giraffes, wildebeasts, springboks, lions and white rhinos. There is a waterhold next to the Okaukuejo Camp. We went to the waterhole after dark and saw 2 families of 3 each white rhinos. The male rhinos had fights right in front of us. This was a truly a memorable experience. All in all, the tour was excellent and we totally enjoyed it. Thanks to Claire, Abel and Rudolph!Written 27 June 2024
- H6570ILronb0 contributionsExcellent tourWhile I had a rental car in Windhoek, I am extremely pleased to have booked this tour of the city. The convenience was well worth the cost and the experiences were well beyond expectation. The driver, Petrus, lead an informative tour that outlined the history of both Windhoek and Namibia. I cannot emphasize more the convenience of this tour and the knowledge gained.Written 18 June 2024
- sherryf80 contributionsGo with Lark Journeys! My husband and I did a custom 11 day private guided tour across Namibia, and it was the trip of a lifetime! Here's why we're so grateful we went with Lark... Planning: We emailed about 5-6 different tour operators, but ultimately went with Lark, as we felt the best level of customer service with Claire through our email exchange. She was highly responsive, which was important for us, as we were booking fairly last minute (about 3 weeks before departure), so wanted to get things ironed out quickly so we could confirm our flights. With the time difference vs Toronto, I always woke up with her response in my inbox first thing in the morning. As we specifically knew what we wanted to see, we landed on a custom tour, and I had very specific questions. Claire was very organized in her responses to my questions (which was not the case with all the operators). In addition, she was able to flexibly adjust some of our accommodations to match/fit our preferences and budget, so that we could experience exactly the trip we wanted. Now, for the actual adventure itself - everything was amazing from start to finish! We were promptly picked up at the airport. Claire walked us through our itinerary, and left us with a printed copy for easy reference. Rich was our guide/driver and he is truly a huge part of why this was such an amazing trip! We've had private guides in other places in Africa and elsewhere in the world, and we can truly say Rich is THE BEST guide we've ever had! Spending 11 days straight with him was easy, comfortable, and lovely. He didn't talk too much or too little, and clearly knows how to adjust to his audience. He's very good at reading people, and his level of helpfulness is unmatched. There were countless occasions where he addressed an issue before we even thought it to be an issue. Small example, but he'd notice I was missing a spoon, and take care of it before I even noticed I needed one. He would also help other tourists/strangers (ex. there was a 4x4 vehicle that got stuck in the sand, and he was able to easily, quickly, and proactively help them). His knowledge of all things Namibia and wildlife was also extremely impressive. For example, in Damaraland, he was able to read elephant tracks and easily find where the herd was, making for a memorable sighting. We were also able to get an amazing up-close encounter with lions, due to his knowledge and being able to anticipate where they would cross the road. Lastly, I had a request to try a local food, and he went out of his way to make it happen. There are countless other examples of how helpful Rich was - he is truly a GEM, and the best of the best! Overall, Namibia is an amazing mix of scenery, adventure, nature, and wildlife. And no doubt you'll be able to experience/see these things no matter what tour operator you go with. But the difference maker (especially if you're doing a multi-day tour) is in the service, especially as you spend many hours with the guide. And that's why we're so glad we went with Lark! Thank you Claire and Rich for making this the trip of our dreams! Highly highly recommend Lark Journeys! P.S. For anyone reading this, if you have questions about travels in Namibia, feel free to DM me. I've been to 50+ countries and think Namibia is the most underrated of them all. :)Written 30 May 2024

My friend and I did the two day safari tour in Etosha park and it was fantastic! Clarie was very responsive in responding to my multiple emails before the trip and our guide, William, was the best!! If you take a tour with Lark be sure to ask for him. He’s very knowledgeable about the animals, birds, and plants in the park. He took great care of us and made sure we had a fantastic adventure.
