About
This is the only Kruger Park Tour from Maputo that uses a Safari Truck if your group is over 3 people. If it's up to 3 we still use a tall car with wide windows for optimal game viewing.
The trip is all-inclusive, with food, beverages, professional and certified Kruger Park guide. The only exclusion is the conservation fee because it depends on your country of residence.
We have binoculars in every seat, USB chargers for your mobile phones and cameras, a fridge and a freezer, and much more. Also, you will have a very different perspective on Kruger Park just because of the fact of having a higher view.
Looking forward to welcoming you onboard.

- JmaElias0 contributionsExcellent April Ponta Membene - Ponta do Ouro Walking TourWe did, with Mussiro Trips, the April Ponta Membene - Ponta do Ouro Walking Tour. Enchanting route on the south coast of Mozambique, with the bonus of spotting some wild animals in the Maputo Reserve. The organization was very good, flawless. The schedules have been met, the camping conditions were adequate and the food was above expectations. Thanks to ALL the staff who were extremely friendly, efficient and professional. I highly recommend this trip.Written 14 April 2021
- Haelen0 contributionsWorth a visit, but not for the big fiveThis park can be visited as day trip from Maputo. ( one and a half hour drive) We saw giraffes, elephants, hippos, one crocodile, wilde beast , impalas and other antelopes and a lot of interesting birds. There are no lions or rhinos, but from July till October you might be able to spot a humpback whale in a distance from the beach, which you cannot in the Kruger Park. The roads are very sandy and difficult to drive in dry weather. It is impossible to drive in a normal car. You need a 4x4 and to reduce the air pressure. There is a nice new camping site and one resort at the beach is under construction. If you are back, there is a petrol station at the main road 8 km towards Maputo. They will pump your tires at the right pressure for a small tip. Entrance fee for foreigners is much less than Kruger. If you go camping, ask the reception at the park entrance where it is. Do not follow the camping signs as these bring you to the old abandoned camping site.Written 17 November 2020
- Sudhir K0 contributionsWorth visitingThis day trip is good to do especially if you are in Maputo. it took almost an hour by car to reach the entrance of reserve. i was able to see zebra, giraffe, jackal, grey and red bucks, wild beast ( abundant), hippo, some interesting birds. Overall, its good to see animals in true natural habitat and landscape. Not sure somebody who has done safari in Kenya, south Africa, etc. will find it great. The entrance fee was 900 MT (local currency) and tour operator charged around 6000 MT for taking me from Maputo and return, snacks and drinks during trip. Pick up from Maputo was 6 am and was back around 4:30 pm.Written 15 January 2020
- 219mayal0 contributions2 week holiday in Mozambique and safari at Kruger National ParkWe returned from a 2 week holiday in Mozambique combined with a safari at Kruger National Park in December, organised by Mussiro trips. We can honestly say that this was a once in a lifetime experience where the trip was beyond our expectations. We had been looking for something special to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. Mussiro trips created a bespoke 2 week itinerary, which enabled us as a family of 6 to have a wonderful holiday. Our 2 week holiday comprised of 3 days safari in Kruger National Park, we stayed in excellent accommodation within the park and our last night was spent at Pestana Kruger Lodge just outside the Park. This was a lovely way to finish our Safari as the accommodation had a luxury feel to it, with superb views from the balcony overlooking a watering hole filled with hippopotamus’s grazing leisurely. Simba was our guide during the safari and he possessed a wealth of knowledge about the animals on the reserve especially on birds. Thereafter, we travelled back to Mozambique and spent one night at Chizavane to rest en route to our journey to Tofu. We explored the beach at sunrise and the views were breathtaking, but this only touched the surface of what we saw next on our travels. We then travelled to Tofu from Chizavane. As you arrive into Tofu you are greeted by the beautiful beach. We stayed at Tofo Mar, a beautiful hotel nestled on the beach front with breathtaking views. Any amount of words cannot do Tofo (or indeed Vilanculos which we visited next) justice because the beaches and the Mozambican skyline are truly magical. We ventured out into the ocean with Diversity Scuba to look for dolphins and whales; we were very lucky as we spotted a number of dolphins and were able to snorkel with them. A short distance from Tofo beach you can also travel to Bara beach which is very secluded but equally as beautiful. Having spent 3 days at Tofu we travelled to Vilanculos staying at the wonderful Archipelago Lodge. Again we were not disappointed with the stunning views, beaches and our day trip to Bazaruto Island was really memorable. As you approach Bazaruto Island, you see small white dots and the closer you reach the island you see a thin peninsular of sparkling white sand and translucent water. Bazaruto Island is filled with sand dunes which is only a short climb to the top, where you will see the beautiful Indian ocean surrounding you. We had spent the day swimming, snorkelling and trying to spot various marine life like turtles and dugong. We had some of the most delicious food in Tofo and Vilanculos -Green Turtle and Neptune on Bara Beach (Tofo). In Vilanculos we ate most evenings at the Archipelago resort as the chef there cooked the best peri-peri chicken one has ever tasted. Both Tofo and Vilanculos beach embody this endless coastline stretch with the warm and clear turquoise waters, which are an unending and uninterrupted beauty, unspoilt and drenched in charm by the local inhabitants. We travelled in a safari truck which was well equipped and very comfortable for a family of 6. Our driver was Taibo who was very nice and accommodated all our requests. The truck was always stocked with lots of snacks and plenty of water. Our trip organised by Mussiro trips was extremely professional and everything ran according to the itinerary. All communication and organisation with them could not be faulted from the initial planning, to our arrival at the airport to the end of our trip. Upon our arrival at Maputo airport, one of our bags had been left behind in our connecting flight. Mussiro trips went above and beyond to resolve the situation were they spoke with the airport staff and had arranged to collect our bag from the airport. Arrangements had been made for the bag to be delivered to us a day later - which was a huge relief. Even when we crossed the border from Mozambique into South Africa everything went smoothly - as both Simba and Taibo were with us to ensure everything went without a hitch. Fernando, Igor, Simba and Taibo are such a great team and fun. They even provided us with local sim cards to facilitate contact throughout the trip. Our trip was excellent value for money for a 2 week holiday. So much thought and consideration had gone into the trip and is clear that Mussiro trips are promoting their love of Mozambique, which has not gone unnoticed. What we wanted from the holiday was to create unforgettable memories for my dad’s 60th birthday, but also explore and see something different and Mussiro trips delivered on every level pulling out all the stops. My only criticism would be that we didn’t stay longer in Mozambique as you could easily have spent more time in Tofo and Vilanculos being immersed in their beauty. We wouldn’t hesitate recommending Mussiro trips for arranging your holiday, you will be forever longing to visit Mozambique again and again as it is a special place.Written 12 January 2020
- seheshtamad0 contributionsDont book and pay from abroadI booked and paid from Europe 2 weeks before my travel. It was for a day tour to Maputo Special Reserve. They sent me information about the address of the Mussiro office in Maputo and said that I should be there by 6 am and they said that they can not fetch me from the hotel and its my responsibility to take me there. Well in Maputo I took a taxi from my hotel early on a Saturday to Mussiro office. We arrived to the address 5 min to 6 (it wasnt easy for the driver to find the place as there is no visible sign and the office is a smal room in a big buildnig), the street was empty as well as the building. I paid the driver and expected that the bus would show up any time. 6 am passed without seeing any bus, van or human being? Then I found a guard nearby who in porteagese said the bus left 10 min to 6?? No one was in the Mussiro office. The guard took me to a taxi ofice in the building where we could find a telephone. I called to the Mussiro number that I had. The person on telephone first lied to me that I was late but when I asked my money back he said he will cll me back, he called later and he said the bus driver could wait for mig outside Maputo and close to the Park if I took a taxi and reached them. So finally I paid 50 USD extra (didnt get back that money) for taxi and reached the bus by 8 am. Wel there I saw the bus with 4 passengers. The driver said that Musiro sent them a list the day before and it was only 4 people on the list but not my name??? The safari itself was good and the staff were kind but the start of the day was a nightmare.Written 30 October 2019
- happytrip580 contributionsFun bycicle city tourFun trip with a kind young guide, a Mussiro guy from Maputo. We went to the mean attractions of the city cycling and visiting in a fun way. Maputo is a reasonable quiet city, with large avenues beside the crowded mean streets, so it’s possible to go around without too stress. Thanks Mussiro Tour for this nice opportunity!Written 31 August 2019
- Paulius290 contributionsThank you Mussiro Trips CrewWe did a 3 day tour as a family including Maputo Special Reserve and Inhaca and it was great. The Reserve is very unique, raw and wild. Mussiro Trips crew took very good care of everything and took us to places that we would never be able to go, very immersive experience. Top crew and advice!Written 17 July 2019
- zacharaqirkgmz0 contributionsMozambique would not have been the same without Mussiro Trips! In a nutshell: Precious advise – extraordinary service – they go the extra mile! Looking for tips on Mozambique for our upcoming trip, we came across their website and immediately had a good feeling about it. Contacting them by whats app, we instantly received a response from Fernando, one of their trip leaders, who shared his passion and enthusiasm about Mozambique during a long call making us even more impatient to visit this country. He gave us very precious first-hand advise about where to go, what to do and how to do it without any hidden agendas, just for the love of Mozambique and making the country discover to other fellows. Thanks to him, we finally placed Ilha de Mozambique on our itinerary and we did not regret it for a second! Wanting to enjoy a relaxing and easy-going time in Mozambique, we finally booked a tailor-made road trip from Maputo to Vilankulo with Mussiro and it was fantastic! They took great care of us from the beginning to the end, fully respecting and being flexible about our choices on the way ('cause we are usually organising everything ourselves ;-)). The car was in excellent condition and their driver James very cautious, taking us safely from one place to another and explaining us the habits of his country - a very precious asset. On our own for the second part of the trip, Fernando stayed in close contact with us recommending restaurants and places to visit and pepole to contact wherever we were. As we said, our trip to Mozambique would not have been the same without the guys from Mussiro. A warm thank you to Fernando, George and JamesWritten 9 July 2019
- mollyzee330 contributionsBicycle Tour of MaputoWe did the bicycle tour with Andrew. We were the first people to ever do this tour, so there were definitely a few rough edges - particularly in terms of getting info on social and political context. With that said, Andrew was a great sport and his enthusiasm was infectious. We saw many of the downtown sites and then biked all the way to the Fish Market where we bought fresh fish and had it cooked to order. The bikes and helmets were in great shape, and Andrew made road safety a priority. We had a fantastic time, and imagine that the tour itself will get smoother over time. Thanks!Written 3 June 2019
