What to Expect
Maputo Special Reserve is a spot that is not particularly well known across the world. For this reason, amongst others, it is an understatement to say that it is a definite hidden gem.

Itinerary:

Day One: Today, you can expect our guide to pick you up in the early morning from your accommodation in Maputo. On the way to the reserve, you'll be served a light breakfast.

Next we will head towards the ferry that takes us to the South side of Maputo Bay, Catembe. If the wait time at the ferry happens to be too long, we will simply drive around the bay, while enjoying the scenic route.

On our way to the Reserve, we will pass the village of Salamanga. Here we get the chance to visit a local bread factory as well as a Hindu temple, which is one of the highlights of the village (optional). We can expect to arrive at the Reserve sometime between 8:30am and 9:00am this morning, possibly earlier. Driving along the Reserve, there is so much to discover. The Reserve is jam packed with wildlife and ecosystems so rich and extraordinary.

We will indeed break for lunch between 12pm and 1pm. Today your lunch will be situated along side a beautiful lagoon.

This afternoon you can simply enjoy, take in, and appreciate an unimaginably beautiful sunset over African landscape. While you're soaking in the beauty, our crew will be setting up for a delicious dinner. Our dinner will include traditional African recipes, yum!

We will cap off an unforgettable day with a warm fire while counting stars, and reminiscing over all of the magnificent things we saw today.

Day Two: Good Morning! This morning you'll awake to a full breakfast made by our camp chef. After a delicious breakfast, we will head towards the beach to spend the day and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch. After lunch, we will make our way back to our campsite to prepare for our sunset game drive.

Dinner will be enjoyed back at the campsite. Our evening will include grand story telling and a nice fire until you decide to call it a night.

Day 3: First thing this morning, you will enjoy another delicious breakfast courtesy of our camp chef.

After breakfast we will head out on a morning game drive to see what we can find. We will return to the camp for lunch.  Once lunch has settled, we will gradually make our way towards the Reserve gates and head back to Maputo.

The drive toward the gates is scenic to say the least. We are still in the Reserve so there is plenty of opportunity to observe more animals and landscapes. We should arrive back to your accommodation between 6pm and 6:30pm - although delays may occur.

End of Tour.
