About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 693airtonm0 contributionsBlastours, the perfect agencyI have been in Ghana for nine days, in January 2025. It was a marvelous trip, an unforgettable experience. I left the country with my mind full of historic and cultural information, and my heart full of feelings and emotions. I am sure that all the credit for the success of my trip goes to Blastours, the agency that organized my tour, and to Mimi Asmah, founder and Managing Director of the agency, who took care of everything. I am Brazilian, 80 years old, and travel alone. I told Mimi that my main interest is art (museums and galleries) and handcraft. She organized a list of 8 or 10 galleries in Accra, and personal appointments with some painters. I visited all the galleries and met the painters in their studios. Nii, the guide, was always in the tireless pursuit to make my trip so nice. He also gave me a lot of historic and cultural information about Ghana. William, the driver, was gentle and efficient. Thanks to them, I loved everything in Ghana. The attractions, the markets, the historic sites, the rich and unknown history, the diversified handcraft, the good hotels, the spicy food and – most important – the Ghanaian people. I hope to come back to Ghana and Blastours will certainly organize my second trip.Written 2 February 2025
- TravelDocta0 contributionsOutstanding service from beginning to endMy husband and I just returned from a 9-day trip to West Africa, where we explored Togo, Benin, Ghana, and Cote d'Ivoire. This trip was very well organized, with very clear, effective, and timely communication from and with Mimi. Having the trip set up so well made me very optimistic about the trip, itself, and we were not disappointed! Patrick was our driver/guide, and he was very personable and very knowledgeable. He was also open to feedback about what we needed from/within our experience and accommodated us accordingly. Our supplementary guides in various points of our visit were also very personable and knowledgeable. We learned a lot during this visit, and survived four land border crossings, which was a feat in and of itself! I'm pretty picky, and I highly value communication, so, when I give 5 stars, that's a pretty big deal. I would definitely use BlasTours again, and very highly recommend BlasTours for those looking for quality service for a reasonable price. FYI - we were told (after arrival) that having $100 USD bills (vs. $50 or $20 bills) will yield a more favorable exchange rate, so, please keep that in mind.Written 6 January 2025
- selormc6610 contributionsUnforgettable moments with BLASToursI joined in an insightful inspection trip organized through Ghana, Togo and Benin. It was a beautiful experience that showcased the beauty and culture of the various destinations in West Africa. I really enjoyed Benin and it's incredible Art Street. This long stretch of wall is adorned in vibrant and truly captivating paintings. Each artwork told its own story, rich with meaning and history, making it a highlight of the trip. Another unforgettable experience was learning about the Amazon women warriors, a fascinating part of Benin's history that left us all in awe of their bravery and legacy. Overall, the trip was both educational and inspiring. The hotels we used were decent, clean and and just perfect. Thank you to Blastours for a well-rounded and enriching experience.Written 18 December 2024
- Rriemen0 contributionsBlastours is the way to go!Blastours was a fantastic company to travel with. They designed a custom trip for us which included Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and Ghana. The trip was terrific! Communication prior to the trip was quick and informative. Our guides were personable and knowledgeable and they gave us their best efforts! Thank you Bright and Isaac. The locations we visited included local guides who were also very good. The company looked after all of our needs before and during the trip. I would not hesitate to use this company again! We were very happy and more than satisfied!Written 16 September 2024
- davidrontheroad0 contributionsKakum National Park Tour & Takoradi-Sekondi Local Tour - done by the bestBlasTours provided one of many highlights of a recent round the world cruise, with 29 ports where I and friends (up to 46 of us) did tours with local operators. In each port I read scores of reviews, to find the best tour operator, and BlasTours is the one in Takoradi. Mimi runs the show, and she and her crew are exemplary. This year, Felix took nine of us to the canopy walkway of Kakum National Park, and he was marvelous, a guide on top of his game. He made the one-way, two plus hour drive, a pleasure and knew the answer to essentially all of our many questions. Thirty-seven other friends from the ship took their local Takoradi-Sekondi tour, which I had enjoyed with 25 folks last year. Again they had Patrick and Tony, and again there was copious praise for them both. Having now done both tours, I highly recommend each experience. Kakum is unique and well worth the travel time. The variety of sites on the local tour is great. But what stands out even more is the quality of BlasTours.Written 26 May 2024
- averya6020 contributionsFantastic Takoradi Tour!!!Group of friends and I (10 total) used BlasTours for an all day tour from Takoradi and it was absolutely fantastic!!! We were able to be picked up right from our hotel in a van that was super spacious and had great AC. We were able to customize our day and visited Kakum National Park, Elmina Castle, and Cape Coast Castle. Everything was incredibly organized and well-ran. Our tour guide Felix was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the area from him. Was definitely a highlight for our trip in Ghana!!Written 21 March 2024
- fillingham390 contributionsTakadori History TourI arranged this excursion The History Tour, for 24 people and they all told me afterward what a great day they had. The visit to the fishing harbour was amazing and the castle guides were informative. Lunch was very good, served in lovely surroundings. We were on a 93-night cruise so communication was not always easy, due to lack of Wifi but Mimi always replied quickly to my messages and when we arrived at the port the 2 buses were waiting for us and all was in order. Very efficient. Because of some sickness on the ship, there were slightly fewer of us than there had been and I had been unable to communicate this to her, but there was no problem. A very nice lady. I would recommend this companyWritten 1 March 2024

- atob20240 contributionsHighly recommended! Will Re-use them!Very well organised from the start to finish. Got a driving masterclass from Mr Emmanuel who was nothing short of being a total professional. The mini van was very well equipped with multiple amenities to allow for a very smooth ride. Mr Emmanuel was very knowledgeable about the volta region and all its history and culture. BlasTours is a solid choice for all things tour and visiting in Ghana and I will be soon contacting them to be used again! I wish them all continued success in all their endeavours. Know that with them, you are in great hands!Written 4 January 2024
- NorthStar486461241090 contributionsGreat day tour from cruise ship - Kakum National ParkFun tour to Kakum National Park at a good pace. We had a delicious local lunch with a variety of local food. Informative guides that kept us entertained during the long drive between the ship and the park. And, they made sure they got us back to the ship before all aboard. The swing bridge hike was more difficult than many expected so not recommended at all if you have mobility issues or if you aren’t in shape. The hike was through the jungle and was a steep uphill on uneven pavers. We enjoyed the hike and loved walking on the bridges in the canopy of the trees.Written 16 December 2023
- C9468VPrandys0 contributionsExcellent day in Takoradi!Mimi was a pleasure to work with. She organized a great tour with our friendly and knowledgeable guide Justice. We had a poignant and informative tour of Elmina and Cape Coast Castles. Also had a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting! I highly recommend BlasTours!Written 12 December 2023
- Ken B0 contributionsGreatness in GhanaBlasTours was excellent. We didn't expect to, but we ended up using their services on three separate days while on vacation in Ghana. For me, this was a trip I had dreamed about for many years. They helped to make it a wonderful reality. Nii Marmah was our tour guide at the beginning of the first day. By the end of the last tour date, we were like family. Him and our driver were every bit professionals and helped to make everything enjoyable. I'm so glad we booked with them!!!Written 24 October 2023
- mfilla0 contributionsAn amazing trip for a reunion! We had a wonderful trip. The itinerary was well thought out, and we learnt a lot, even as Ghanaians. Eric, the driver and Nii, our guide were amazing. We will definitely do another trip with Blastours.Written 28 September 2023
- sheenaw6250 contributionsThe Best Family Trip Ever!I along with my mother and niece had the best time during our tour of Ghana. We had a private tour with Paul as our driver, and Patrick as our guide. We could not have asked for a better team. Paul was so quiet, but he was very professional and extremely helpful. My family was a bit worried about having a tour guide who was going to be stiff with no sense of humor. Patrick was the total opposite. He was so much fun, funny, and very knowledgeable. He kept my family very engaged. He was even great about keeping my 10 year old niece engaged. Not only was our trip educational, but it was fun. I’d recommend BlasTours (with Paul and Patrick) to anyone. I wish that they could be our guides all over the world. lol!Written 13 September 2023
- Sarah G0 contributionsFantasticI travelled with Blastours to Ghana, Togo and Benin in July 2023 and had a brilliant experience from beginning to end. I was travelling solo and my guide Patrick took fantastic care of me. He was a really skilled driver with an almost superhuman ability to avoid potholes! Helped me avoid the pitfalls at each border crossing. At each hotel, he checked carefully that everything was okay with my room. The local guides he worked with were all great. He went above and beyond and added little experiences to the trip, such as stopping to see rubber being tapped or buying street food, whenever there was an opportunity, which really enhanced what was already a great itinerary. He was also a great conversationist and incredibly knowledgeable. After the end of the trip, during the rest of my stay in Ghana, it became really clear just how much I had learnt about West Africa and its culture from him, and how much he had done in terms of making everything during my trip run smoothly. Things were not as smooth without him! Mimi was fantastic, especially in terms of her communication and responsiveness. She really took note of what I had asked to see and designed a perfect itinerary. She gave valuable and accurate information about the visas I needed and what was required. She was also really clear and transparent about how much extra money I would need to cover the cost of the meals etc. that were not included in the tour. Each of the hotels I stayed at were great in their own special ways. Nearly every one had a pool and the food in restaurants was excellent. It was great to have accommodation where I could get some proper rest and relaxation each evening after a long day's driving and sightseeing. When things didn't quite go to plan, both Patrick and Mimi were on it straight away and quickly came up with alternatives and solutions. I cannot recommend Blastours, Patrick and Mimi highly enough!Written 23 August 2023
