- X4327YQkeithw0 contributionsRelief from busy MarrakechSamir led me and three friends on a half-day hike through the High Atlas Mountains. We saw a waterfall, had lunch and visited a shop filled with handmade goods. The hike was tiring but, as the oldest person in the group, at age 69, it was doable and worthwhile excursion. The scenery was a great break from the crowded Medina, where we were staying in a lovely riad in Marrakech. Samir was sympathetic and helpful to all of us daytrippers, including when one member briefly got sick, apparently from the altitude. Samir also was eager to take photos during the excursion.Written 26 May 2024
- evagS2792IM0 contributionsStunning trip with a lot of "extras" thanks to our well experienced tour guideWe look back at an amazing two days tour to Mount Toubkal together with two very friendly Mohameds, one our cook and Mule-expert, and one - also called "Phillipp" - our tour guide. While both of them took good care of all our needs, especially the efforts of our tour guide will remain unforgettable to us. Mohamed, to whom we developed a very good relationship during the trek, made us experience way more than we expected and paid for. Beside the hike to the Toubkal base camp (Day one) and the peak and back (Day two), we also got to see a beautiful waterfall close to Imlil. Furthermore, after having shown interest in an aeroplane crash that happened in the 60s in the Toubkal area, Mohamed lead us an alternative way back from the top to the valley: as the only hiking group of many, we took a rather less known path down the North ridge, also adding a short hike to the additional peak of "Thiberine East", were the motor of the crashed aeroplane is still laying. Together, we also explored the cemetery of the crashes' victims that is situated on the way down. We are so very thankful for all of Mohameds effort which amazed and impressed us especially since neither he nor the other guides and chefs ate something during the hike due to Ramadan. Mohamed proved to be a very experienced, and by the way also very multilingual (besides Darijaalso good English and French, a little bit of German, too, and maybe even more languages?) guide, who does not only posses a deep knowledge of the Atlas mountains, but also way beyond that, including the Sahara region, amongst others. Thank you very much, Mohamed our cook and Mohamed (Phillipp) our tour guide! Also a big recommendation for the Riad Jnane el Karma (very beautiful and comfortable, good food and pool!), especially the couple leading it/organizing everything - another Mohamed and his wife - who made us feel quite at home and we're super helpful in any respect. - sikanderw20230 contributionsBest holiday experience I have hadWords cannot describe how amazing this experience was for me. I’m an experienced hiker, and was expecting to climb hills gain some numbers, but I was looked after so well by my guide, Samir, and our chef, who organised the trip, cooked our food sorted accommodation, kept our mule happy, and had a breathtaking 5 days of amazing sights, and interactions with some wonderful locals. I learned a lot on this trip and it was a much needed break from normal life. I will most certainly be doing it again.Written 18 March 2024

- 60ricards0 contributionsMy first 4000!A group of five of us made the ascent of Toubkal. It was fantastic. Both Samir, our guide, and the cooks who accompanied him, treated us wonderfully. Samir has always been very attentive to our physical condition in the hardest parts of the climb (we are all over 50 years old), stopping to rest for a few minutes when he saw that someone needed it. Very happy and looking forward to repeating the adventure with my children in a few years.Written 23 October 2023

- ingedh760 contributionsUnforgettable trek through three valleys of the Atlas MountainsI highly recommand this private 4-days trek through three valleys of the Atlas Mountains. The guide Mehmed was very experienced and knew the region perfectly. He was very flexible and adapted the tour to our level. He even added 3 additional hikes! The food, carried by a mule, during the hike was very good and we picknicked on the most beautiful spots in the Atlas Mountains. We stayed in local guesthouses with very friendly people and clean accomodation. Price/quality perfect! If you like hiking, nature and are interested in the berber life, do not hesitate to book this tour, you will not regret it!!Written 25 July 2023
- Inge D0 contributionsUnforgettable trek through the Atlas. We did a unforgettable trek through 3 different valleys of the Atlas Mountains with our 2 sons of 20 and 18 years old. We had a wonderful guide, Mehmed, who perfectly knows the region and told us a lot about the mountains, culture and the country. He adapted the tour to our level and added a few walks more. There was also a lot of variation in the landscape. The guesthouses were basic stays but very clean and friendly people. The food during the trek was very good, thanks to the cook who joined us with his mule. We picknicked at the most beautiful spots. I highly recommend Trek in Morocco who organised this perfectly well. If you want a memory for a life time, get in contact with Trek in Morocco, you will not regret it!Written 22 July 2023
