Essaouira ocean calmness from Marrakesh in a day with great service
Our experience with our driver Laarbi from Marrakesh Travel Services is positive. Our pick up at our Marrakesh hotel was punctual and as agreed. His driving is thoughtful and safe, and his service was polite and kind. This getaway to Essaouira nd the Atlantic oceean from the hustle and bustle (noise and pollution) of Marrakesh was the perfect way to relax for a day by the sea and in a calm sea side town with friendly people. We would recommend this 1 day excursion.

A once in a lifetime experience
This was a wonderful tour. Dounia from the agency was so so helpful and friendly! And so was Mohamed, our driver, who was most helpful and kind and always there to help. They went out of their way to help me pay a brief visit at a studio, which was optional in the description of the tour and I thank them for that. The visit at Ait Ben Haddou and all the casbahs we saw on our way to the Sahara were breathtaking! The camel ride at sunset and sunrise in the Sahara desert was an out of this world experience! The night in the tent, the food, the traditional music with the traditional musical instruments played by the kind Berbers, the thousands of stars in the sky … Unbelievable and unforgettable!!! I will treasure this experience in my heart!

        Great Day Trip from Marrakech!
Trip was great! Well scheduled stops to and from Essaouira allowed us to use facilities, get snacks and learn about argan oil processing. Just the right amount of time to explore Esdaouria too!

A lively day by the seaside
20 euros from the Medina in Marrakech return. Bought locally. Booking.com is cheaper for 2 plus by the way. 3 hour drive out interspersed with a breakfast stop and a visit to woman's only cooperative selling Argan oil products. Final stop indeed camels. The blue eyed one with the big lashes got my vote. Desist from holding the reins. It will cost. Same as a close photo. Lunch was on the beach. Fish restaurants aplenty. If you don't like dead fish and smells stay clear of the docks. It's fetid. The town is lovely. Laid back and calm. Journey back had no stop so take a wee before you leave. Good value.

Incredible views, a lot included for such a good price. Such an incredible experience so highly recommend. What made our trip was our tour guide Mohammad. He was so helpful, attentive and all round kind and caring. He was very informative and made sure our small group was happy at all times. Thank you so much!

        Perfect trip to the dessert
It was amazing. We were really satisfied with this trip. Everything was perfect, food in the camp was delicious and the camp was very clean. Watching the sinrise in the dessert is a really magical experience. The locals were very friendly and helpful. Especially our guide Khalid is very nice person and I can recommend him as a very good guide into the dessert. I have nothing bad to say about it and I recommend this trip.

Unforgettable Adventure with Warm Hospitality – A Few Extra Days Would Make It Perfect!
We had a wonderful experience overall! The activities were enjoyable, though they sometimes felt a bit rushed due to the tight schedule. I’d suggest extending the stay to two nights or offering an option for a three-night package, so guests can fully take in the incredible camp setting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with truly kind people. Our driver, Hamid, was exceptional—always friendly, attentive, and eager to share insights about the sights along our journey.

Pretty location, but badly serviced and organised
The trip started slowly as we were waiting a long time for our coach from Marrakesh. The coach journey was fine with one toilet stop halfway through, no loos on the coach. Toilet attendants ask for tips, so bring your coins. Our guide Samir was knowledgeable about the history of Ouzoud and could speak Spanish, French and English. The walk to the waterfalls was pleasant. We took the boat at an extra charge to get closer to the falls. At the end of the boat ride, we couldn't find our guide, and assumed he went up to the restaurant. It was a lucky guess. Our lunch was included, however it was one of the worst service received. We were sat away from the main group, our food arrived in dribs and drabs: the kids wanted chips that arrived last, my husband food was totally forgotten, then was told it had run out, then what he ordered arrived. We complained about it and the waiter had the decency to apologise. Other people had a similar experience and it wasn't massively busy. We then carried on our ascent to see the monkeys. This was really fun, people can feed them, and they jump on you. We spent about 15mins. Sadly at that point, we got separated from our group and guide. We just couldn't find them. We pursued our route and got to the top without seeing them then returned to the monkey spot and back again. We were concerned at that point as we didn't have the guide's contact details. In the end we found our coach and the group. When I confronted Samir, he wouldn't look at me, nor did he apologise for leaving us, then turned his back on me. The people within the group told him we were missing but apparently he shrugged it off saying we'd find our way. The guide's most important job is NOT to lose their visitors, and he epically failed and showed no sign of apology. I would absolutely NOT recommend him as a guide. The place itself is very pretty, unsuitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. There are lots of shops and restaurants.

Relaxing change of pace from bustling Marrakech!
This experience was part of my Birthday celebration in Morocco! I'm so glad that I decided to book this trip to Essaouria. Although the drive is lengthy, it was broken up by two stops...first, a food break at a roadside restaurant that had plenty of options including snacks! Our second stop was at a woman owned Argan Oil Co-op (Cooperative Marjana) that was stocked with numerous products for both culinary and cosmetic use. I purchased several different items to get me started, and a business card with web address for future orders! We were also given a tour of how the Argan Oil is extracted and processed by hand which was interesting and informative. The coastal city of Essaouria was charming...full of shops and restaurants within the ancient walls! We ate the most delicious hot Moroccan orange cake topped with vanilla ice cream at a small cafe run by a lovely French lady. I wish that I had taken a picture of her establishment so I would have a name to give you, but it's located outside of the Medina walls and has an open courtyard for seating. I believe that it may cater to Vegetarians...everything that we ate and drank was scrumptious! Last, but not least I want to say a huge thank you again to Ibrahim who was our Tour driver for this trip! His very pleasant personality and safe driving enabled me to completely relax and enjoy the ride!!! I would definitely and highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a break from the bustle of Marrakech and would like to see the coast of Morocco. Looking forward to my next visit to this mysterious destination! <3

        Amazing trip !
What an amazing tour. We travel with 2 kids (11yo, 4yo), and we first worried about the long car ride, but our driver was absolutely amazing, never once anyone got sick, and the scenery of the whole trip kept us awake. We were also lucky to have the best trip mates. Every stop were worth the travel, just wow. Knowing that there was a limited timeframe, we couldn't stay long at every stop, but it would be really great if we could stop half an hour more or 1 more hour at every site. A big thank you to our driver and the nicest staff at the camp.

        Full day trip to Essaouira
This is a full day trip to Essaouira, starting with a 7:30 am pickup near our riad. The trip to the coastal town took until about noon as we had one pit stop and another stop at a woman's cooperative to learn about and buy their products, such as argon oil. We had 4 full hours on our own to visit the town. The return to Marrakech took just over 3 hours, so this is a long day. The bus was more of a mini bus rather than one of the large tour coaches. Seating and A/C were comfortable. The coastal town of Essaouira is attractive with the fortified wall around the medina and viewpoint over the Atlantic. We walked along the elevated wall with a line of cannons and enjoyed the view along the rough coastline. The medina was charming and full of shops and restaurants. We had a nice lunch midway through the self guided walking tour (no guide provided by the package). Four hours is plenty of time to walk around and see the highlights. The price for the transportation is a great value. Recommended tour if you have a full day available and want to see the coast.

The best part of the tour was definitely the Sahara desert. The day before departing we learnt there is a deluxe tent category which is a two-person tent with hot water in shower and propane heating device. So we decided to upgrade from standard tent to deluxe tent over the phone while in Marrakesh. We paid the difference between the original booking and the upgrade in cash (US dollar) next day after we were picked up from the hotel. When we finally arrived at the campsite, our tent was already warm. We had hot water to use. We could flush the toilet the same way as in regular hotels. This really made our desert experience much more enjoyable in January! Of course the heating device was removed from the tent before going to sleep for safety reasons. So it was still cold when we got up the next morning. The services in the campsite was great! After dinner, they played drums, sang, and danced with us around campfire. As for the other stops on the way to the desert, we were not impressed. The local guide in Ouarzazate asked for mandatory 30 dirhams donation as well as tips. The visit to a Berber village was too long including walks through stones & rocks and cross two 20-30cm wide 'bridges' (felt like walking on a balance beam). Our driver was very good. The food along the way were better than we expected. The camel ride and desert sunset was amazing! Overall, the tour was very well organized. Sahara desert is an experience of a lifetime!

This trip is well organized and worth every penny. Our driver and guide Mohammed was very friendly, kind, energetic, entertaining and fun. He is more than helpful in taking care of us during the trip. He even help us to exchange our usd cash to local currency when learning that we had difficulty in withdrawing money from the local ATMs. On our way back, we saw a a car accident involved a sedan falling into the valley of the mountain. We felt very grateful and safe with Mohammed as an very careful and experienced driver for this long distance trip. A huge thank you to him for making our trip pleasant, safe, and memorable.

We had two excellent side trips on our way to the desert during the first day, a historical site and a village by the gorge. The hotel we stayed for the first night was decent with great dinner and breakfast. During the second day, the camel rides, night camping under the star, watching sunset and sunrise were the highlights of this tour. Some staff at the camp entertained us around the camp fire well after the midnight with African magic, jokes and folk tales. The returning “Express to Marrakesh” was also a memorable scenic ride through the countryside, the rose valley and the Atlas Mountains. The stunningly beautiful scenery kept us awake. The colors, the light, the smell, the taste, the sight, the hospitality of the people and the closeup feel of Morocco captured our heart and imagination. Thank you for such an awesome experience.

Before we went, we were a bit concerned with the negative comments about the expensive lunches and the pushy sales. We are happy to report that we didn’t experience any pushy sales. On the contrary, the side tours provided us with nice presentations on local hand made products without making us feel any obligations to buy. Sure, the lunches were expensive for the quality, but at least they were clean and didn’t cause us any stomach troubles.

Overall, we highly recommend this company for the desert tour. It worths every penny and hope you will love this unforgettable experience as we do.

Ok, well maybe think a little bit. I came here as a young female traveling with another girlfriend. I felt completely safe. I can't say much more that hasn't already been said besides that you should definitely take this trip and consider bringing a journal so that you can jot down things you see and feel as you experience them. I find myself reminiscing back to this trip often. The people, the scenery, the journey. Definitely spend time in Marrakesh as it is an amazing place but I implore you all to venture outside the city. Each stop of this particular tour was very well thought out and planned. Last bit, there are parts that might feel like they are "scams". Remember that this is all in the eye of the beholder. We are fortunate to be able to visit these areas as travels, the people we meet who along the way may be limited as far as their own experiences and earnings. Be mindful that this trip for you is business for them and the two don't have to be mutually exclusive. Please tip when you feel it appropriate, the beautiful scenario is elevated by the storytelling and history. Those tour guides that speak many languages invest in that to improve your experience. Also many items that could be cheaper elsewhere are not commissioned using fair labor practices. If you appreciate something, show it. Feeling very fortunate to have been welcomed to Morocco.

Would highly recommend this tour. You will pass amazing sightings on the way to Tinghir on the first day followed by probably the most existing day of the trip: a visit to an amazing Kashba near Tinghir, a walk in a gorge, camel ride to the desert camp and an overnight stay in a tent camp.

Moha is splendid guide, providing the necessary time to explore and make sure all is arranged from start to finish, giving explanations along the road and checking in regularly to make sure your trip is 100% worth it.

We did five excursions in Marrakech and this was definitely the best value trip of our two week stay in Morocco. I would recommend to do the quad ride in the dunes, while it is quite expensive, it allows you to get lost in the Sahara and have a more extensive view of the desert away from the 'main road'.

Would rate 6/5 if I could!

We booked the three day tour as part of a week long trip to Marrakech. Mohamed was our driver and he was great. Our highlight was the camel ride to sunrise. The meals provided were good and the dinner at the desert camp consisted of rice and tagine. For lunch, you are taken to restaurants with set menus which do seem slightly over priced - my partner and I shared as there was plenty of food for both of us. The guide at Ait Ben Haddou was ok and we did have to pay the 30 dirham fee that is mentioned in other reviews. However, the Todra gorge on day two was fantastic and our guide there was very informative. Overall, we highly recommend this tour as it is very good value for money - pack plenty of snacks for the long journey though!

The tour is exactly what you’d expect. Everybody was very nice, the stops on the way were very enjoyable but you really have to know that the price doesn’t include the tips for the various tour guides and that the prices of the restaurants on the way are higher prices for morocco but still ok. It is obvious that the guides, the driver and the travel agency work together and you spend the whole time in a sort of bubble of higher prices (for example we were led to a scarf shop where they kind of tell you that you NEED a scarf for the sahara and then sell you one for 150 dirham - later we saw the same scarfs for 40). If you’re ok with this you will enjoy the tour a lot.
The sahara itself is really amazing. You’re not very far in but that’s to be expected.

This is a awesome trip. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. The road connecting Marrakesh and Menzouga is packed with minivans full of tourists trying to grasp the spirit of SAHARA. And I am one of them.

So early in the morning at the first day, the driver Mohammed Tinghir picked us up. For every one or two hours we stopped at some historic sites to enjoy the view or to take some pictures. While for major toriststic atrractions, there was a local guide to show you around.

I have to admit that on the way from Marrakech to the desert is long and boring. Our driver didn't say nor talk much at the beginning, but later on he was bit more talkative. He was also very helpful and tried his best to explain stuff to us. It was also very kind of him to drop us off to our hotel at the third day.

When i arrived to the desert, i realized that everything is worth it. I could sit on a sand dune for a whole afternoon.

Mohammed Tingihir, no offense, but the music from that two CDs drove me crazy. LOL.

Overall, it is a very nice trip I highly recommend it. And it is also very nice to meet your fellow vanmates and the driver.

The most amazing trip. Mustafa gouidi our driver was fabulous and couldn't do enough for us. We had a tour of many sites and while there was a lot of driving it was great and many stops along the way. We made our way to the Sahara desert where we got our camels to the most magical evening - sunset in the sanddunes, tasty dinner in our campsite followed by song and dance by our brilliant hosts. In particular Zahid was amazing he taught us how to play drums and was so informative about the desert. He also took the time to find out about our culture and we even did an Irish dance to his traditional drum playing. The hosts are amazing and couldn't help us enough. We settled for a night in our tents which were so cozy. The next morning started with us getting up early to watch the sun rise on camels and back to base to start our homeward journey. Breakfast was served and set us up for the long journey. I cannot explain how amazing this trip was it was truly a magical experience..one which I may just have to do again it was that good. The driver and hosts, Mustafa Gouidi and Zahid in particular, made the experience even more special. I cannot speak highly enough of this trip and the company was so brilliant for booking this trip through. Book it..you will not be disappointed. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Great experience overall. This is a very good deal. Interesting stops along the way. You get to discover a good part of the Moroccan south, this is also the opportunity to buy very cheap souvenirs. The program at Merzouga is well organized (in the space of 15 hours, we rode camels, we experienced both sunset and sunrise - photo attached -, went camping around fire in the desert, local guides were very helpful with the camels, and turned to be great musicians during the night, the sky at night was very beautiful and full of stars), everything was smooth. Our driver, Larbi, has done a great job. Very professional guy, made a good impression on everyone of us. He was very helpful and he created an amazing atmosphere. His driving is really excellent.

i read the good reviews before i booked the tour but the experience even exceeded what i've expected and i definitely recommend to do it even if day 1 was a disappointment for me. in general, the tour is very well organized and you stop at several beautiful places. i personally never felt rushed at any time and there was enough time for everything. our driver Hamid did a very good job here and timed everything just perfectly. he was also very courteous and an absolute save driver.

day 1: one stop was in aid benhaddou which is a very beautiful village and i would say a must see when in Marocco. however, our guide there was basically just a terrible seller; he tried to force us to buy stuff which really annoyed me. if he tells you, you need to buy a scarf for the desert at the shop, don't believe him, you can also take one you have at home or buy one at any other place. after that he asked for tips lol. we had to pay 30 MAD pp anyway. i would have enjoyed it much more without a guide. lunch afterwards is a classic touristic place in the village. the other stops had nice views and we could also get snacks and water in most of the shops there; the stop in Ouarzazate was only for taking pictures for 15 minutes and not necessary in my opinion.
the hotel for the night has a very nice outside area and a pool and the stuff there was very kind. the rooms have everything for the very! basic needs but clearly need maintenance. dinner was also ok but you have to pay for drinks, not even water was included. breakfast next morning was beyond terrible. it seemed that they didn't even tried to make it eatable. i would recommend to skip at least the breakfast and get some snacks in the stores in the village; overall after day 1 i was very disappointed and i felt that the tour was a waste of money. if you feel the same, please be patient, it will get better, i promise.

day 2: lovely stop at todra and there the guide was very patient, kind and competent. i really enjoyed it there. after some hours busride we finally arrived in merzouga and the people there welcomed us warmthly. we had some free time and time to enjoy the pool, take a shower and pack our things for the desert (we could take a small bag with us and leave the rest of our luggage in the van). the camels were very calm and i loved the ride. some people didn't enjoy the camel ride tough, but gladly there's also the option for quads. the atmosphere there was so beautiful, i've never experienced sth similar to the time in the desert. we had enough time to enjoy it and afterwards got to the desert camp where we had an unforgettable time with the guys from the camp. we had very delicious and authentic dinner, played some music and everything was just perfect.

day 3: bus ride home was still better than day 1 and worth it.
