Overview
Visit Ait Ben-Haddou and Ouarzazate on a full-day trip from Marrakech that explores two spectacular kasbahs, the fortified cities built to protect against desert raids. The day features guided tours of each destination while covering gorgeous terrain, from the spectacular Road of the Kasbahs to Tizi n Tichka, among Morocco’s most dramatic mountain passes. Included entrance fees and transport make this a convenient option, with a range of customizable upgrades available.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel for the trip across the High Atlas Mountains, climbing the winding Tizi n Tichka road to the Road of the Kasbahs. The first stop of the day is Ait Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified city whose towers are decorated with geometric patterns. This is among Morocco’s most recognizable film sites, and if selected, you can sway through the city on the back of a camel; tour options with lunch feature a meal at an Ait Ben-Haddou restaurant.

Next, head to Ouarzazate, which long guarded the edge of the Sahara desert, and is now a favorite destination for filming movies in Morocco. Tour the Taourirt Kasbah, considered to be one of Morocco’s most beautiful kasbahs, then enjoy some free time to explore on your own before returning to Marrakech.

I wish I had more time!

The guide at the ourzazate kasbah was amazing. He provided new and insightful information, and managed to answer most of our random questions, aside from anything tied to the kasbah. We paid for the camel ride. I was a bit surprised when it was just...More

In our case it started at 7:15 am from the hotel and ended at 7:30pm at our hotel. It's a long drive, around 4 h each way, a bit of visiting the kasbah and time for lunch. There are few stops on the way too, for toilet and... More
