- Che16910 contributionsAlgeria 2025- A journey into the SaharaWassim and his team organized a 6-day tour to Tadrart Rouge for me in February and I was thoroughly impressed with their service and the tour itself. This tour was a dream come true as I had long planned to venture deep into the Algerian Sahara. I was in contact with Wassim for well over 2 years and when the time came for me to actually visit Algeria, he made the whole planning process seamless. He arranged for me to obtain my visa on arrival and both him and his wife, Nour, gave me a great tour of Algiers prior to my journey into the Sahara. From the minute I arrived in Djanet, I was met with wonderful hospitality from my Imohag (Tuareg) guide and local community. The itinerary was perfect; it allowed me to witness something new within the vast Sahara every day. Towering sand dunes, endless horizons, epic sunsets, ancient rock art, incredible rock formations and the opportunity to be with the Imohag and learn about their way of life and desert made this one of my most incredible trips to date. If you are thinking of visiting the Algerian Sahara, I strongly recommend it, and please choose Wassim and Algeria Tours 16 to organize your trip. You won't be disappointed.Written 6 March 2025
- T6470ORhelens0 contributionsTour of the CasbuhWe had a fantastic experience with Nour as our tour guide. We had juat a few hours between flights and we were able to customise our tour. We were picked up and returned to airport and they even looked after our bags. Nour is so knowledgeable it really was a delight to listen to her, it made Algiers come to life, the history, the arquitectura, religion. I had totally recommend the experience. Thank you.Written 17 February 2025

- X786XIcarlol0 contributionsAbsolutely magical tour of Algiers and Tipasa -- thank you so much Algeriatours16!My friend and I took a week-long trip to Algeria in November 2024. I can safely say it was one of the best trips of my life, and a big reason for this is that we were lucky enough to spend the first three days in Algiers and Tipasa with AlgeriaTours16. Nour was an exceptional tour guide, going above and beyond what one expects of a tour guide and making us feel like we were being shown around by an old friend. Algeria is amazing and we cannot wait to come back! From the get-go, everything was simple to organize, especially considering how last-minute we planned this portion of the trip. Wassim was helpful and friendly and allowed us to plan everything via WhatsApp, asking us what we wanted to visit and crafting the trip around our request. We already had our visa, but he offered to help us in case we didn't. Nour insisted on meeting us at the airport with Ahmed, our friendly and helpful driver, and we were immediately made to feel at ease -- we started chatting and didn't stop all day. On our first day, we took a walking tour around the botanical gardens and the port area of Algiers, stopping for the most delicious couscous we have ever had. The city is beautiful, we always felt safe, and it reminded us of Rome with its many layers of history. Best of all, Nour's background in architecture meant she could answer all our questions about the buildings we were seeing in amazing detail. The second day we continued our tour of Algiers, stopping at the Monument of the Martyrs in the morning before heading to the Basilica and the Mosque. All were breathtaking in their own way; we felt especially honoured to enter the Grand Mosque. After another amazing lunch (the desserts in particular blew us away) we went on to take a walking tour of the Casbah, winding through the old city and marvelling at the buildings and the views. Even after the tour was over, Nour helped us find restaurants to eat at in the evening. Our last day we ventured out of Algiers to visit the amazing ruins of Tipasa, which on this particular day were blanketed in a magical layer of fog, and the Tombeau de le Chretienne on the way back -- a personal highlight for me. Perched atop a beautiful hill overlooking the ocean, with the grandeur of a pyramid or a Roman arena, I could have spent hours wandering around it. We stopped here for a surprise picnic with Algerian desserts that Nour had made herself, which were delicious! One of the most amazing things was that as a place that still receives relatively few tourists, Algeria maintains a sense of authenticity and tranquillity for visitors that is so rare to find these days. Passers-by were curious about us but we were never made to feel harassed, followed, or overly observed, and everybody we interacted with was gracious and friendly. The ruins we saw, if they were in Rome, would be crammed with tourists; here, we were almost alone. It was simply incredible, and we felt very lucky to be there. I would recommend AlgeriaTours16 to anyone hoping to visit this beautiful country. Again, Nour went above and beyond, and is one of the best tour guides I've ever had! For example, I mentioned a particular gift I wanted to find for my father, she immediately dedicated herself to trying to find it and made a special stop for us to get it. And even once we had left for the next part of our trip in Timimoun, she checked in to see how we were doing, and we returned for one last night in Algiers before our flight home to find a home-made gift waiting for us at our hotel. Thank you, saha, merci for everything. We hope to be back very soon!Written 14 January 2025
- Culture8142790 contributionsGreat communication and travel recs!Wassim and his team offered excellent recommendations about the best sites to see in Algeria, and the best ways to visit them. The day-long tours of Timgad with Hamza and Ghardaia with Omar were engaging, lengthy, and informative. Both experiences included a tasty lunch at a local restaurant with competitive prices - the best food I tasted during my Algeria experience. The Ghardaia tour guide also assisted the next day, with helping to negotiate for and buy a handmade rug from a local artist. We visited places that I would never otherwise have been able to visit, or even knew existed. During the two weeks I spent in Algeria, the two day tours with Wassim's team were the highlight of the trip and the key reason why I will revisit Algeria with my family. During the inevitable hiccup at Timgad during any international travel, Wassim's team efficiently resolved the challenge within minute's notice. Highly recommend and hope to return! Thank you, Wassim and team!Written 10 January 2025
- David M0 contributionsAmazing AlgeriaAlgeria is a beautiful country full of UNESCO World Heritage sites, welcoming & honest people, wonderful food, and remains largely untouched by Western materialism. I had an invigorating 2 weeks in Algeria (I think you need at least two weeks to gain an appreciation) traversing the entire northern coastal regions. Normally I’m a fully independent traveller but for this trip I engaged Wassim’s services and I was so glad I did. He helped me navigate the visa process, advise on appropriate hotels with excellent locations and most importantly, linked me in with wonderful local guides. I don’t speak French or Arabic, and although not speaking the local languages has never stopped me before, I was SO GLAD that I used Wassim’s services. Firstly, some of the World Heritage Roman sites are not easy to get to, but more importantly the guides he arranged were all of an extremely high quality who were full of insightful knowledge about the local history, culture and food. There were all very used to Western expectations and no Q were off limits. There is no doubt that engaging local tour guides added so much to my trip. Finally, a big thank you to Wassim himself for answering dozens of my Q (mainly before I left) but also being readily available while I was in Algeria as well. I left the country with a warm sense of how beautiful this country and its people are.Written 29 November 2024

- joostsmets0 contributionsRecommended custom tour of Algeria, already planning a second visit!Wassim of Algeria Tours 16 helped us piece together an incredible itinerary on our first (but hopefully not last) visit to Algeria. First off we embarked on a road trip in the north, from Algiers to Constantine, continuing to Ghardaïa and back to Algiers. Most travelers will opt for the cheap domestic flights connecting these cities, but driving gave us the opportunity to visit the Roman ruins of Djémila and Timgad en route, as well as the dramatic canyons at Balcons de Ghoufi, pausing at palmeraies to climb palm trees and pick fresh dates. Driving gave us more of a feeling just how massive this country is. The second part of our trip was near Djanet in the south, camping in the Sahara with our Tuareg guides and discovering the impressive rock formations, sand dunes and rock art in the south. Wassim is very responsive, helped us applying for the recently installed visa on arrival and his company is highly recommended.Written 17 October 2024
- barneysim0 contributionsGreat trip, a taste of AlgeriaOverall an excellent experience. What you’re paying for when booking a multi city tour with this company is for coordination of everything: transfers, hotels, guides, and domestic flights. Easier to have someone local to organize everything. And the boss Wassim certainly took care of everything. He or his wife were always very accessible via WhatsApp whenever any questions or issues came up.Written 4 October 2024
- wolfgangs1830 contributionsExcellent (tailor-made) city tour Best of AlgiersMy Best of Algiers tour with Algeria Tours16 was an excellent experience. The preparation by Wassim (planning, itinerary, payment, etc) was professional and Riad, my tour guide, proved to be highly competent (knew an answer on any of my many questions, in perfect English), well-organized and friendly. But the feature that impressed me most with them was their flexibility. If you wish to include a specific attraction and leave others out (as in my case) they to do not reject and offer only a standard Algiers city tour (as other agencies did), THEY MAKE IT POSSIBLE! Many thanks again to you, Wassim and Riad, for an unforgettable day full of impressions and information in beautiful Algiers!Written 28 September 2024

I did this full day tour with Wassim (driver/guide) and Ahmed (historian), getting picked up from my hotel bang on time (at 0900) and finishing early evening (around 1745).
As with all of the other tours I did with Algeria Tours 16, the organisation was very simple - having made contact, Wassim was then in constant communication with me during the booking process and in the run up to the tour... giving me information about timings, routes, and the itinerary. It was mostly done over email, as well as a FB Messenger call too, and his responses were always almost immediate - which was very reassuring.
In terms of value then I'm happy with the price I paid for the full day tour - it included the services of a guide and a driver, together with lunch at a nice spot and the entrance fees for all the places we visited. No unexpected extras!
With respect to the itinerary, the tour was done with a combination of driving (to Cherchell initially, then from Cherchell to Tipaza, then to the Mausoleum, then finally back to Algiers) and walking (around Cherchell for 2 hrs, then around Tipaza for 30 mins, then Tipasa for around 2 hrs).
During the walking phases we took in all of the main sights (Cherchell = main square, public museum, mosque, romain ruins, market... Tipaza = Roman ruins, lovely fish restaurant for lunch, shopping street) in each place, as well as stopping for a couple of little impromptu street food snacks too.
Both Wassim and Ahmed both spoke good English throughout the tour, as well as being just genuinely nice/friendly guys too!
In summary, I'd happily recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit Cherchell/Tipasa... or even just someone looking for something interesting to do outside of Algiers for a day.

Great 3 1/2 days with Houda in Algiers and the surrounding area, where all spontaneous requests were perfectly met. The itinerary was discussed individually in advance via WhatsApp. From arrival to departure, everything was perfectly organized, extremely informative, and she answered even the most unusual questions in perfect English and in an extremely interesting and friendly manner. Absolutely recommended!

We had an excellent day with Ahmed. He had encyclopaedic knowledge of the history and context not just of Tipaza, but of the wider story of Algeria. This made the car trip to and from the site (from Algiers) a real pleasure. We loved the fact that he was so passionate about his subject, and so generous in answering our (many) questions which ranged from French colonialism to the detail of Tipaza as a Roman site. Tipaza is a romantic and beautiful place, the sea was stunning and clear the day we went and you should plan for paddling!
Ahmed had a great sense of community, we met several of his colleagues from other companies and got chance to hear a few of their stories before we headed home. Everyone spoke English, French, Arabic and other languages too, and Ahmed was kind in helping me improve my pigeon Arabic....
The photo below is the mausoleum, which we visited on the way back.

This was a real treat for my first tour and first weekend in Algeria. Wassim and Ahmed are first of all extremely warm and friendly uplifting people, as well as very professional and organised. Picked up from hotel, driven to explore the sights with plenty of good conversation and good humour. Ahmed did most of the narrative with his vast knowledge of his country. Wassim ensured I was well looked after, occasionally chatting to passing by Chinese tourists in their native tongue (he speaks 6 languages fluently so worth noting). It was an enriching experience and you end the day feeling like you've spent a day with good friends. Highly recommended

For this day, our fantastic driver and guide Ahmed was waiting for us on time at the hotel door. We started with a very good oversight of Algiers on the way to Cherchell along the highway with vineyards and olive groves on the way. At arrival to Cherchell we enjoyed great Algerian coffee with locals and loved the walk exploring the local market before visiting the Cherchell Museum with great mosaicas and a comprehensive display of the history of the place. We went then to Tipaza to explore the magnificent ruins. Ahmed was very informative and gave us a great insight into all the places you get to encounter at the archeological site. Then there was the best time :) great lunch :) at a local fish restaurant overlooking the ancient Phoenician fortification walls. The food was excellent. Fresh grilled fish right straight from the ocean! We ended up the tour with a short drive to the Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania where we learnt about the Numidian Kingdom. Definitely worth taking this tour! Ahmed always made the extra effort to make us feel great :)

I've been to other North African countries, but the level of knowledge, professionalism, transparency, blows everyone else out of the water. Wassim is extremely knowledgeable. We not only covered historical topics but I also learned about some good flights, how to find the best ticket price, what are the best items to buy in Algeria. We covered many topics and spent the day like old friends. Algeria is a safe and beautiful country with a lot of history. It is incredible to see old Roman ruins in Africa. Wassim has many other tours and I hope to see more cities in the future. Thank you Wassim for a safe and memorable trip.

As there wasn't much to do on a Friday in Algiers, and with the protests going on at the time (March 2020), we were advised to take a day trip to Tipaza + Cherchill. This we did and were never disapointed. Chercill is a pleasant little seaside village which is a welcome retreat from the hussle n' bussle of Algiers. The marble museum was definitely worth a stop. After seeing both Timgad and Djemila in Constantine, we were feeling a bit "Roman-ruined out". However, Tipaza's setting along side the rugged coastline made this place a bit special. There was even stop along the way back to the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania. Both the fish dinner and the end of tour tea were delicious. Would highly recommend Algeria Tours for this trip!

Excellent combined tour, of Tipaza and Algiers. Having only one day available, I wanted to fill my eyes with many things! Algeria was a pleasant surprise. I recommend everyone to visit it for its many attractions. And above all to turn to Wassim and his staff with confidence. Thank you Ahmed who satisfied me in all my goals.
