About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Maggie R0 contributionsSuch an amazing experience!Such a fun and beautiful experience!! I definitely suggest getting the one where you drive yourself, it’s way more fun! Also our tour guide Ki, was super sweet and friendly!Written 3 February 2025
- C2810POfrancescae0 contributionsamazing!it was amazing! uncle Koa was really friendly and he explained to us everything about the movie and about the mountains and the II world war!Written 3 February 2025
- toddkharding0 contributionsAmazing in Every WayThis tour is fantastic. You get to drive yourself (21 and older). Our family of 5 fit in one UTV vehicle. They are easy to operate and surprisingly comfortable given the bumpy terrain. The guides are awesome and have a lot of information to share and some pretty good jokes, too. There are about three stops for pictures. One of them is at a Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom set. You pass by several other filming locations and can take photos from the UTV. The two hour tour flies by and you see a ton of amazing scenery. Aunty Pat's Cafe is a great place for lunch, too. They serve burgers made from 100% beef raised on the ranch. You do come across quite a few cattle that are grazing on the grass around the 4,000 acre ranch.Written 30 January 2025
- cursingmonk0 contributionsHawk Kua (Must Do!)We had Tarrin as a guide and he was a joy. Knowledgeable and funny, he was very accommodating to everyone in the group. The ranch is just stunning scenery. It's hard to beat the natural beauty from the beach overlooks to the green mountains. It really feels like you're riding through Jurassic Park. The movie at props and such are very limited so temper expectations. Just lots of natural beauty. The e-bikes are the BEST tour type to select. You get more access, things go at the group's pace and you can spend time at each stop. They are also fun to ride and have an "easy mode" setting that makes biking accessible up most. There are height and weight restrictions so double check but they are made for most average humans. We've done many of the activities on the island and this is amazing. This is a MUST DO for tourists. You won't be disappointed if you seek scenery and adventure.Written 29 January 2025
- MJNTRAVEL0 contributionsWell worth itA great afternoon spent exploring the valley and stunning scenery, it is truly spectacular. Highly recommend the E Bikes, as you get to see so much more, at a gentler pace, it is also the eco option and the bikes are easy to ride. Recommend.Written 26 January 2025
- verad3500 contributionsAmazing Experience! We booked a private UTV ride with Ki. We had a great time. It was a 3 hour ride, we really saw most of everything. Highly recommend paying the extra money for a private tour, it is well worth the extra money in my opinion. At the end we were also able to plant and name a tree on the ranch.Written 26 January 2025
- Pacificisles0 contributionsPrivate UTV Tour Spotlights Oahu’s Landscapes, CultureFor those interested in the private UTV tour, we can only say that it is very much worth it, especially if you enjoy viewing awesome landscapes & learning about local culture & history. This tour, led by your personal guide (& driver), takes you all over their expansive property, including a majestic valley view near the end that is exclusive to this tour. We learned so much about the people & experiences of this area from our thoughtful guide Keely, who never rushed us & tailored the tour to our interests. We appreciated being able to plant taro as well, a somewhat symbolic yet thought-provoking part of the tour. We were impressed by the diversity of activities that the ranch offers guests, and how they appear to be committed to doing the right thing for the long term. Well done!Written 26 January 2025

- ericbV182CF0 contributionsEach visit is better than the lastOur first trip was awesome but this visit was amazing! Light rain and low clouds lended mystique to the whole ranch and obscured the mountain tops on occasion, making for some great pictures. The rain kept the dust non existent, making the drive even more enjoyable. Reese and Cody made the tour hilarious and informative, sharing island history with us and keeping the humor dry, despite the rain. Highly recommend.Written 22 January 2025

This is our second time taking the tour after an incredible experience from our first time in November 2022. The scenery, thrill of the trek, and engaging tour guides make the trip so memorable. We were thrilled when coming back in November 2024 we saw our guide from our first visit, Kai, who had made our first time so entertaining and were able to tell him we were back because of his tour. While we didn’t get to catch up after the tour with him, we’ll be back in the future, and we will keep recommending to anyone who plans on going to Oahu to take the Kualoa Ranch UTV Raptor Tour.Written 20 January 2025

This was the best day of my life! The tour was so detailed and informative and we saw wayy more movie sites than I ever could have imagined from the Jurassic movies AND others! We were in the valley for what felt like all day and got to have 15 minute stops to recreate scenes and photograph all the awesome sites. The open air vehicle made it easy to photograph, see panoramic views, and feel the breeze while we drove through the mountain range and along the coastline. I cannot recommend this enough and it is DEFINITELY worth the $150/person pricetag. I also recommend scheduling the transportation with them as it picks you up from select Waikiki hotels and round trip is only $30!!

After trying to decide which tour to go with we decided on the Adventure Tour. After visiting the ranch, I think we would have preferred the UTV tour but it sells out the fastest so you have to book that in advance. The Kualoa Ranch feels like it’s all about making the most money out of tourists, as you don’t even get to see all the Jurassic Park stops during this tour. You have to book the UTV tour to see some more sites and the Hollywood Tour to see the rest. The ranch has also attempted to preserve the natural aesthetic of the location so even though you are stopping at movie sites, sometimes it’s just a hill with a log or a piece of cement with a roof. You are also made to arrive 45 minutes early to check in which feels like a gimmick to get you to buy something from their gift shop.

I call this a two-handed experience because on the one hand, the scenery and views were spectacular and world class. We got amazing pictures through the tour. The tour takes you through two valleys, although the majority of the time was spent in the “movie valley” where over 80 films were made. One of our favorite experiences was getting the chance to walk through a bomb shelter/gun placement that was built into the side of the mountain after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The pictures that you can get of the ocean and surrounding environment at this spot are amazing (so were the strong trade winds!). Since the tour takes you up, down and through the first valley, you will have plenty of time for amazing pictures.
On the other hand, what kept it from being a five star experience was the tour guide. Unfortunately, it seemed he was unable to talk and drive at the same time. The result was that he would pull aside and tell us his stories. The other problem was that he would repeat himself multiple times. It was like he thought we were all hard of hearing and senile and needed to have the story repeated. The result was that the tour was slow moving and bordered on tedious. I felt sorry for the two families with young children. It is pretty hard to ask a young child to sit and listen to someone versus keeping the vehicle moving or stopping at the designated sites. The pace was slow moving enough that the vehicle that started 20 minutes after us had caught us within the first hour of the tour, got tired of waiting on us, and passed us after a couple of stops.
Yes, that was an annoying part of the experience but not enough to take away from the fabulous views and scenery. My advice is simply that if you get the male tour guide in his 50’s from Texas, when he asks if anyone has a deadline (like another tour, etc.) and you want the tour to end in the scheduled 2.5 hours rather than 3 hours, tell him you need to be done within the 2.5 hour time slot. Maybe that will ensure he moves things along. Of course, if you love a story teller and don’t mind having the story told to you multiple times, then sit back and enjoy the scenery, views and stories!

Showed up for tour to wait in line to check in for 30 minutes. We have a 2yr old, she was also in my arms at check in. They checked us in and had us go to the loading zone. We waited at the loading zone for the tour and when it was time to board they said we needed a ticket and to run back to office to add her. Waited another 15 minutes for the lady just for her to tell us she can’t go on the tour and that we needed to call the office to find an alternative tour. Customer service is awful wouldn’t recommend anyone have to deal with people like that with no idea of what’s going on. We won’t be recommending anyone to come here and won’t spend a dollar at this property. Waste of an hour drive and another hour and half trying to get checked in and board the tour.

Our guide Chris made this tour absolutely incredible!!! It is clear how passionate he is and how much Chris genuinely enjoys this tour. Our group had SO much fun. It is a 2.5 hour tour and it absolutely flew by. We ended up with so many amazing photos thanks to Chris and his trainee Julie. It was overall just an incredible afternoon. We were so lucky to have ended up on Chris’ tour - what an absolute delight!!
The price can appear a bit daunting at first but it is a lengthy and worthwhile tour. It absolutely has been a highlight of our trip so far. We stopped at multiple memorable Jurassic stops and had plenty of time at each stop to take as many pictures as we wanted. 100% worth it.
I am sure Kualoa has many amazing Jurassic Adventure guides but Chris is an absolute star - thank you for an amazing afternoon!

I'm reviewing the fact that it's too expensive to go. For $146 for adults and $75 for kids it's way too much, and it doesn't even include food. Someone is making killer profit, and smells greedy to me. All you do is drive around the island in a truck. How can it possibly be that much?? Way too overpriced if you ask me. We are from California and for the same price we could go to Disneyland so this was easy to skip. If you want to see the grounds you can just walk along the outside and take photos. Save your money and go to a Luau were you'll actually be fed and get a show for far cheaper.

Five of us paid AUD $250 each for this 2.5 hour tour that is just a drive around the ranch looking at where movie sets were. Misleading this is advertised as a Jurassic Park tour.. nothing adventurous about this. Couldn’t hear the tour guide unless she stopped driving. Zero help or information on how to get to ranch without spending over AUD $200 each way. Told the bus back to Waikiki across the road …gee thanks for help. As a group we spent more than AUD $1600 ..not worth it.

I have mixed emotions about our day:
First off, the Ranch is absolutely gorgeous & I recommend doing at least 1 tour just to see it.
However, the tours are a bit confusing...
When we booked our tours we called about the different options & were told that the Jurassic Adventure tour & the UTV tour went to different stops, so I booked the Jurassic Adventure tour for the morning & the UTV tour for the afternoon. However, while on our Jurassic Adventure tour, we realized that the UTV's were on the same trail we were on. There were only 2 stops that the UTV's stopped at that we didn't, but we still drove by those stops, we just didn't stop. So, we didn't 'feel the need to do the UTV tour in the afternoon & see the same things we just saw.
We went to the ticket desk & explained this, but they would't give us a full refund. She said the only thing we could do is take the boat tour & she would give us a partial refund, so that is what we did. The boat tour was ok. It was a beautiful bay & we learned about the fish pond. We received about a 50% refund for the UTV tour which we were fine with.
Our tour guide was a young teenager. He was ok. He showed us scenes from the Jurassic Park movies on his iPad which was really nice so we could see what part of the movie that scene was in, he was great about taking photos, but he was on his phone the rest of the time. We had $ to tip him, but didn't. He was the only tour guide during our month long stay in Hawaii that we did not tip.
It was cool to see some of the movie props from the Jurassic Park movies, but we were really disappointed in how many props we saw. We expected to see more dinosaurs too, but learned that most of the dinosaurs in the movies were CGI. It was cool to see the fields where they shot the scenes, but not sure it was what we were expecting. We learned that only a few scenes were actually filmed there. The coolest part was the Indominous Rex cage which is worth the tour to see
I think it could be more clear which movies were shot where
The road was very bumpy & the ride uncomfortable.
We did really enjoy the history room & reading about the history of the Ranch.
I think it is worth doing at least 1 tour, but I wouldn't make a day of it.

The views were beautiful & the scenes were very cool to see. The ride was VERY bumpy & unlike anything I’ve ever done but I think that added to the experience. The guides take pictures for you & they all turn out well. My only complaint is that our guide kept saying from the beginning that we “were behind” but he chose when to start the tour & to wait on people to get there—-not my fault they were late why are you holding up my tour? The guide also stopped to give people a bathroom break in the middle of the tour—I didn’t like this because I paid for a tour for the whole time not waiting on people that didn’t prepare by going to the bathroom before hand. Some of our group even decided to go to the car during this break when I PAID to be touring this time so we just sat & waited on the vehicle. Our first stop was so rushed I literally had to run through the underground museum which annoyed me because when I got back to the vehicle on time, it just sat there waiting past the time we were supposed to get back waiting on stragglers. I feel it would be a better tour if a little courtesy was added, rule enforcing, & actually touring for the whole time was enforced.

The crew was amazing Kelsey and Sophie were great and made us feel safe in the water especially my mom who can’t swim. They had plenty of equipment and tons of experience. Captain Megan was the best and came to the rescue when we started to feel queasy, would recommend for anyone who is looking for a nice snorkel experience that is easy and family friendly!!!
