After making your own way to Kualoa Ranch, hop aboard a large Swiss Pinzgauer off-road vehicle, which was originally designed for military use. With 6-wheel-drive and a tough exterior, the Pinzgauer is the perfect vehicle to navigate the steep and rugged back-country terrain of the working cattle ranch

      Not so great
My boyfriend and I were so excited to go on the Jurassic Adventure Tour while visiting Hawaii. Our guide, Garrett, was great! Very knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his job. We had several complaints after the tour though. First, there was nothing in the description about there not being any use of toilets during the 3 hour tour. Had we known that, we wouldn’t have done this tour. In our opinion, there should’ve been porta potties or something at the halfway point. Next, there were 3 little kids on our tour who just couldn’t hang. Maybe consider a 10 years and up age limit or something like that. The crying and whining was a lot. And lastly, we were told to use our imaginations quite a bit but it would’ve been nice to have a tv or something built in to the truck that allowed us to view the scenes from the movie, instead of the barely visible from our seats iPad. We’ve seen the movies but don’t have them memorized.

      A “Two-Handed” Experience
I call this a two-handed experience because on the one hand, the scenery and views were spectacular and world class. We got amazing pictures through the tour. The tour takes you through two valleys, although the majority of the time was spent in the “movie valley” where over 80 films were made. One of our favorite experiences was getting the chance to walk through a bomb shelter/gun placement that was built into the side of the mountain after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The pictures that you can get of the ocean and surrounding environment at this spot are amazing (so were the strong trade winds!). Since the tour takes you up, down and through the first valley, you will have plenty of time for amazing pictures. On the other hand, what kept it from being a five star experience was the tour guide. Unfortunately, it seemed he was unable to talk and drive at the same time. The result was that he would pull aside and tell us his stories. The other problem was that he would repeat himself multiple times. It was like he thought we were all hard of hearing and senile and needed to have the story repeated. The result was that the tour was slow moving and bordered on tedious. I felt sorry for the two families with young children. It is pretty hard to ask a young child to sit and listen to someone versus keeping the vehicle moving or stopping at the designated sites. The pace was slow moving enough that the vehicle that started 20 minutes after us had caught us within the first hour of the tour, got tired of waiting on us, and passed us after a couple of stops. Yes, that was an annoying part of the experience but not enough to take away from the fabulous views and scenery. My advice is simply that if you get the male tour guide in his 50’s from Texas, when he asks if anyone has a deadline (like another tour, etc.) and you want the tour to end in the scheduled 2.5 hours rather than 3 hours, tell him you need to be done within the 2.5 hour time slot. Maybe that will ensure he moves things along. Of course, if you love a story teller and don’t mind having the story told to you multiple times, then sit back and enjoy the scenery, views and stories!

Beasts of burden? Or massaged pets? Horse ride warning.
Don’t book this tour if you aren’t certain to be 20+ lbs under the weight limit regardless of height or clothing. Mortification & embarrassment included. No refunds or exchanges. Not sure if their scale is celebrated regularly? Weight when leaving for the vacay was under the limit.

      Unique Oahu experience!
This tour was one-of-a-kind. We saw different parts of the ranch that were used for movies like Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, and Skull Island, among many others. The mountains were very beautiful, and we learned about the legend of Mokoli’i, thanks to our tour guide. Our tour guide also helped take nice photos of our family. I would definitely recommend this tour when visiting Oahu.

      Just barely ok
First don’t weigh an ounce over 250 or it’s a no go. That part I understand, insurance liability reasons. But over all a bit boring, you actually bike about 40 min of the 2 hrs and the rest is talking nature which is ok it’s just not us

      Cool Tour
If you watch movies/TV shows often this tour is for you! You get to see authentic items from the movies/TV shows filmed on the ranch. This was the cool tour on the ranch for our family.

Great UTV tour, even in the rain!
We did the UTV tour during a very rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having a great time! Our guides, Tyson and Lurai, were awesome- very informative about the grounds and history, as well as putting in some humor! We also enjoyed eating lunch at Aunty Pat's Cafe. We will absolutely be back to Kualoa Ranch in the future, and will recommend to our family and friends!

Zip lining for every age group
Not only did we love the zip lining but the guides were so awesome! Full of knowledge and aloha. Particularly, loved the drive to the start of the zipline location as we got to see little snippets of what the other tours are about.

Take your business elsewhere, thank me later!
Be prepared to stand in a 30 minute plus like to get your tickets even if you pre purchase your tickets online, you still need to wait and get physical tickets. They have maximum of two people in the ticket booth and are not accommodating at all. We had to stand in line for over 30 minutes which made us miss our tour, they won’t rebook you for the same day, which is great when you’re flying out later than evening offering a gift certificate for the same tour only which is useless when you’re from the United Kingdom. No refunds, no exceptions, no squeezing two people in, no waiting for anyone or checking everyone has arrived. There are so many places on this island that offers zip line tours, ATV tours and water tours, they are much more friendly and accommodating and i strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere than giving this money driven ranch even a thought.

      Terrible horseback riding experience
Terrible terrible terrible customer service! Booked a horseback riding tour and went there at the time the tour agent told us to me at and they had left without us! We were a couple minutes early and the tour agent gave us the wrong time and they still did not do anything to help us. They also gave no refunds. So so disappointed and lost over $315. We purchased other tours with them and spent so much money and they were still so unaccommodating! The tour guides were so rude!! I had a terrible experience. I am so shocked by the service provided!

      So much fun!
We had an amazing time with our guides Josh and Lurai. We did the ride along with Josh and learned so much plus it allowed all three of us to experience the ride and take in the scenery without having to worry about driving. Highly recommend!

      Very fun tour!
This was a highlight of our trip. The scenery was amazing and the guides were fantastic. They provided alot of great info about the area and the Hawaiian culture. Do plan on getting dirty! They provided helmets, goggles, and neck gators, but lots of dust and dirt will end up everywhere! We had an excellent time and highly recommend, especially if you have teens.

The most adventurous way to experience this beautiful landscape!
We decided to do the UTV "Drive yourself" tour and we would HIGHLY recommend! Yes it was expensive, but there are so many reasons to do it. The experience itself, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and to visit and drive past sites movies were filmed at was pretty cool. Our family had a blast! The tour guides that went with us were a lot of fun, and turned out to be fantastic photographers. We travelled with our 4 children (aged 16, 14, 14 and 11), so we had our our UTV. The track was incredibly scenic from the mountains, to the terrain we went through. You will be provided with googles which I would recommend wearing if you are in the front seat, and although we didn't get muddy it was very dusty. The kids had a great laugh at how we looked at the end. Definitely bring a camera, however the pictures don't do the scenery justice. The tour guides were only too happy to take photos, actually they were very creative ;)

One of the Best Tours we have ever done
No joke, this is by far one of the best tours we have ever been on. This was a birthday present for my husband because he is a huge Jurassic Park fan and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Numia, was excellent and basically gave us two tours for the price of one with his knowledge of Hawaiian history/culture and other movies that were filmed there. The views were so great, even though we had less than ideal weather we were greeted with gorgeous waterfalls and cascades due to the rain! We learned and saw so much and it was so fun. Their gift shop is also great and they have lots of parking available. Even though it was a busy day, we felt like we had a special private tour. I cannot stress enough that if you go to Oahu, you must book a tour with Kualoa Ranch! We will be back!

Make sure you go with enough time because if you are five minutes late for the check in they will not let you take the tour. We got an Uber from Waikiki to the Ranch and we got traffic. I called to let them know we were stuck in traffic but 10 min away and the man that was on the other line. Simply just said we were late already for check in and that there was no way we could get in the tour because it need to leave in time. We finally got there 10 minutes before the time of our tour and they still did not let us board. I asked for a refund they said no I asked to be put on another tour and they said they’re was nothing available for today. They just would not give us any other options. It was just a crazy day for us spend around $100 for Uber and then was having a hard time getting one back. My advice is to make sure you have transportation figure out as well as go with enough time. I was very disappointed that we did not even get at least half of our money back since it wasn’t our fault there was traffic because of construction.

My favorite part was Lani our tour guide. She was extremely informative about the history & events, and she made it very fun & exciting. She was able to deal with all levels of ages. I liked how she used Hawaiian language and then told us what it meant, lol then quizzed us at them end. I have to say the best part was the Hawaiian lua dance at the end, she actually danced and She’s amazing!! The place rates an overall 10 for my family. I am not local but my family is and saw things they haven’t seen in the 45 something years they have lived here. Well worth the time & $$ to go here.

This was our 4th time to Oahu and our 2nd time visiting Kualoa Ranch. First time we did the movie set tour so this time we decided to do the Jungle Expedition Tour. What can I say, everything about this ranch and this tour is beautiful. With Covid 19 going on they check to make sure you have your QR code and don't have to quarantine. Then they had 3 buses doing this tour and 2 families on each bus, so 1 family sits in the front and another in the back. The best part of the tour to me was seeing where they did the movie Jurassic World, I thought was pretty cool. Also the last part of the tour before you head back down, you get off the bus and take a 5min hike to the perfect place to take pictures. Make sure you wear closed shoes, I had on flip flops because I wasn't expecting to take a hike lol. It does get very bumpy at times, but it was very much a nice tour. Me and my family enjoyed it very much. Had beautiful weather, we were very much so happy with this tour.

We booked this adventure while on vacation (family of 3) and my 16 year old really enjoyed it. I didn't know what to expect but the bumpy ride was a thrill and the view (after a short hike) was beautiful. This was our first time doing the adventure and I'm so glad we opted to spend a few hours at the ranch -- we actually did the Ocean Voyage earlier in the morning, had lunch and then did this expedition. We visited on Tuesday (just before Thanksgiving) and there is plenty to do and see on the grounds. The refreshment/cafe area was a bit pricey but it was no surprise and we found a few cool souvenirs.

This tour is not worth the money! There are so many other things you rather do than waste your money here. I'm a Jurassic Movie fan and I don't recommend this. They are extremely unorganized and they ask you to show up very early and we did! But we got THE WOST seats on the bus and barely could see anything... The people who arrived last, way later than what the instruction said got the best seats because the staff formed the line starting from them. There were NO signs that showed where the line should start so we waited in the general area and because the the staff formed the line away from us, we boarded last even though we arrived first! It was complete BS! There must be assigned seats at the time of purchase or when you check in! Due to the location of our seats, we couldn't see much from the bus. The saddest part was we were there early! I'm extremely unsatisfied with how they managed it. If you want to see this place, book a different tour. This one is TERRIBLE!

We had a great time. We had the last tour of the day so we felt we had time to really enjoy it. The weather is perfect this time of the year so it was really comfortable. Our guide was Sam, who has an amazing amount of passion and knowledge for the islands and Hawaiian history. He had many interesting things to share about both movies filmed there and the historical/cultural significance of our surroundings. I think this tour is suitable for many different kinds of people. There were parts where he played different music tracks significant for me (hint: dinosaurs and rainbows) which really added to the experience.

We paid for this trip with the transport from Waikiki so it felt a little more expensive than it should’ve been but can’t really do much when we didn’t rent a car. That aside, it was a really fun jungle tour and the driver was warm and welcoming. I’d suggest to sit on left side of bus for best views. Mini hike gives amazing views. I’d say if you have time on Oahu then definitely see this part of the island

Lei our driver was AMAZING and so fun and knowledgeable. She made the experience even more thrilling. What I appreciated even more was the love for her island, culture and heritage shined through as she spoke. The tourist and hospitality industry are great because of employees like her. I had hoped for more of the movie experience on this tour, but the views and Islands history made up. My only disappointment was the ranch itself and not being able to see much without a tour.

Our native Hawaiian guide Val (full name Vaokakalasesimanihemelenoliloanauakilakepa) was great. She told stories about the history as well as the plants and nature we were driving through. She would suddenly stop the truck along the road and pick up some leaves or fruits and explain it’s use and hand it around. The tour didn’t feel like routine at all and was just great fun.
