    North shore shark adventure 2023
We were a party of 8 with kids ranging from 10-15 years old. My parents came along with us and it was an amazing experience for everyone. After that experience I don’t have the fear of sharks that I used to. The type of sharks we seen are more curious than ferocious and the captain was very good at explaining everything and making you feel comfortable. I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I’d do differently was that I wish when we went out, we would have taken some anti-nausea meds.

    Experience of a lifetime
One of the best experiences of my lifetime! My mom, dad, and significant other all went together. Would highly recommend this for adults or young adults. One person did get seasick on the boat, so be aware, if you are prone to motion sickness.

    Awesome Experience and Crew
The experience was amazing! Got to see about 9 Galapagos sharks. Bonuses: Got to fish for mackerel and watch dolphins swim/race our boat. The crew was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable, very friendly and punctual. They went the extra mile and assisted my 72 yr old mom, who has a bad knee and weak muscles due to Myasthenia Gravis, in and out of the water. They were so patient, reassuring, and careful with assisting her. I highly recommend them!

    Must try adventure
Great experience! The group was not very big, although the dive did not take 2 hours, I could see it being so if you were lucky enough to see many sharks. Regardless, very much worth it and could find deals on groupon!

    Unmissable! Totally worth it.
We had a fantastic time. The captain and first mate were very knowledgeable and sociable, and did great at easing anyone who was at all trepidatious about jumping in the water. We went out on a perfect day, 80° and clear blue skies - we had around 6 or 7 Galapagos sharks encircling the cage. We had around 20 minutes in the cage which was more than enough. If you’re hesitant at all - DO IT.

I was SO looking forward to a shark diving adventure, and sadly, it wasn't as breathtaking as I thought it would be. You meet in a dark parking lot at the marina, there is no office or physical building (unless you count the tiny little shack that no one goes on). There are some public washrooms nearby that are something out of a horror movie. The ride out was so scenic, we went on the first cruise so we were lucky enough to see the sunrise and watch them put the cage in the water. As promised, there were tons of sharks but they were all Galapagos sharks. It felt misleading as the website lists so many varieties of sharks, they post videos of other sharks including tiger sharks however, while on the tour they told us they only see a tiger shark once a year or so. There were lots of sharks, they were decently sized, you could see them coming in from so far away. Our group was split into two so half were in the cage, and half were on the boat looking down. We purchased the Go Pro Video, they tell you ahead of time that it is uncut. It was very cool to have that souvenir to take home. I would shark dive again, but with more realistic expectations.

Aloha Young86. Thank you very much for joining us. We are so happy you saw "tons of sharks" and "decently sized" sharks! We apologize the harbor bathroom was not satisfactory. That facility is managed by the state of Hawaii, not by us, but we will bring your comments to their attention. And just to clarify to other readers... our Trip Advisor description it states "view primarily Galapagos sharks and sandbar sharks". And on our own website under FAQ under what type of sharks do we see...."Mostly Galapagos and Sandbar sharks which can reach up to 12+ feet (4 meters). Occasionally, Tiger or Hammerhead". We do post videos of cool things like seeing whale sharks and tiger sharks because they are extra ordinary and we like to share them with everyone. We do hope you will join us again next time. Mahalo, Joseph Pavsek.

Captain and crew were entertaining during transit and informative about shark behavior during the dive. They took health precautions regarding the spread of Covid-19 by limiting group size. Our family of four had the tank to ourselves. Also, the captain knew of techniques to keep the sharks intrigued and circling the boat in a non-threatening way throughout our time at sea so everyone could study the sharks regardless of order of rotation.

I had taken my 2 children last week 11/8, ages 12 and 13.. we were apart of the first group in the water.. my 12 year old son wanted to get out of the cage because one of the other passengers were in the cage gagging and throwing up.. it was making him feel nauseous.. I stayed in the cage with my 13 year old daughter.. while we were still in the cage, unfortunately my 12 year old son got sick and didn’t make it to the side of the boat.. the attendant “Matty” treated my 12 year old son like pure crap for getting sick and humiliated him in front of the other passengers that were on the boat at the time.. once I was climbing up the ladder out of the cage with my daughter, he came to me and said “your kid got sick and he sprayed on your things”, I of course immediately went to my son who was visibly upset.. the attendant “Matty” followed me over to him scolding me for him getting sick, I’m front of all the other passengers.. everyone was uncomfortable with how he was acting.. one of the other passengers had to say “he is only a child, leave it be..” this is the first and last time I will ever use this company.. if you have children, or think u may get sea sick, use another company in the harbor!! Awful experience..

We booked via Groupon and paid about $89 a person. I believe when we first looked at the pricing in fall of 22, the price per person was around $120 via company's website. I booked for a group of 4 for an early session, 8:30AM specifically. However, when we arrived mid-December, the waves were too dangerous for our tour. We had to reschedule due to that but all time sessions left were the 12:30pm ones, and that conflicted with our plans. Not to mention, my fiance has horrible motion sickness/sea sick, so we knew that 12:30 would mean choppier waves.

We decided to go through with it as it was a hassle to get a refund through Groupon. Our tour had exactly 12 people, so we had 20 mins with six people in a cage. The waves were very choppy but when you were inside the cage, the choppy waves were not felt. Visibility was about 200 feet, lots of sharks coming near the boat as they are attracted to the sound/vibrations. The cage is left in the ocean and the boat will depart maybe about 10-20 feet from the cage. When you first climb into the cage, be careful, as the ladder can be slippery. I was offered to go down first, but I was too scared. The snorkel gear was amazing. If you're not a strong swimmer like me, you'll be fine. I was a bit worried about the choppy waves, not being able to grasp well on to the cage bars, and drowning, but none of that happened. However, when I did look down, I noticed that one bar from the bottom cage was missing. That did drive my anxiety up.

Anyways, I am so glad we booked the excursion and went through with our plans. This is one of the highlights of my Hawaii trip and I always so glad to share with my family, friends, and public about this experience. My two advices are to buy through the company itself instead of via third party and buy a waterproof phone case. There are great ones I have purchased from Amazon and work well in 20+ feet depth. You'll definitely want some of memories to look back at. Oh, and record/take pics at .5 if you have an iPhone. That way, the phone will capture everything.

Last but not least, the ocean is a beautiful place with beautiful animals. So, please try to be safe and save the turtles:)

The best tour we did in Oahu! The staff was awesome, explained everything in detail, answered everyone's questions, and were friendly. We parked in the lot (which is free btw!) and met up with our group- I'd say there were about 10-12 of us. Each group got about a 20minute dive in the cage to see the sharks. It was Incredible! We went first thing in the morning (we heard they are more active then & that the water is calmer for anyone w/ motion sickness) and we saw over a dozen Galapagos sharks. I had a cheapish underwater camera for the trip and the water was so clear I actually got some pretty amazing pictures! We felt safe (for anyone nervous) and it's such an incredible experience to see them in the wild!

I had the best experience on this shark cage dive. The crew made the whole thing an amazing experience. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and great at giving instructions on what to do. They give you plenty of time to take pictures and videos and they offer to video the outside of the cage for a fee. It was worth every penny and I plan on going back again. This needs to be at the top of your to do list when visiting Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shark dive was so much fun, there were so many more sharks than we expected! The dive instructors were knowledgeable and exciting. My friend who came for the boat ride was scared to get in with the sharks, after talking with the instructor she decided to get in the cage as well. She had a great time too! We were able to be spaced out away from other people which was nice and everything felt safe and comfortable, the staff was super nice and helpful, and it was really easy to find the location.

When it comes to shark we'll always be scared. We booked the Shark viewing from the cage. We reached the place an hour earlier as they asked and they took us in a boat where the cage was tied. They attracted the sharks and sent us in the cage by providing the snorkeling masks. The day we travelled the tides were very high and it was windy. But the guides helped us and guided us thoroughly as we are the first time swimmers. They made sure we were comfortable and get a closer look of the shark. It was an amazing and thrilling experience which we will never forget.

Note: The confirmation email states they provide water. But please take water bottles with you on the boat.

Out of concern for health and safety during this pandemic, we have stopped offering water on board. It is available for purchase at the check in kiosk. Thanks again. Joseph Pavsek

The Old Lady (me) decided to go snorkeling with sharks on a day that Grumpy was working. Instead of driving, a pickup was arranged (for an extra fee) and was advised to meet at a hotel a 5 -10 minute walk for my hotel. Two other people were at the pickup location. Several other tour companies picked up from this hotel but our van was clearly marked. Others had already been picked up. The ride was pleasant. We arrived and joined a much larger group at the registration kiosk. They divided us up into two groups and our group was much smaller and given a later aboard time. There was plenty of time to walk to the store area and stop in a local coffee shop to pick up a bite to eat and a cup of tea, walk back, and find a nice place to have breakfast (BTW, the cafe was great, review for that upcoming.) Once aboard the boat, the crew was entertaining and hard working. Not only did we see Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins on our way out, we also saw a couple of whales. The ride can be a bit rough so make sure to take seasick medication well before! Once at the site, two people decided not to go into the cage due to one being afraid and one being very seasick. The crew was very understanding and kind to those poor people. The crew dropped the cage and got the remaining snorkelers in and announced that since our numbers were lower than what they usually allow at one time in the cage, we would have the entire time in the water without switching out, meaning we got double the time in the water most get. For those who get seasick, like me, while they have the snorkelers enter the cage, the cage is very close to the boat and despite being in the water, seasick feelings were generated. This dissipated once they allowed the cage to move away from the boat. Again, make sure to take your medicine! This experience was absolutely amazing! The sharks definitely made an appearance and gave us quite a show. At no time did I ever feel unsafe or in danger. Everyone in the water continually raved about it. On the trip back to the dock, the spinner dolphins gave us the most amazing show, getting so close the captain had to stop the engines for their safety, as they jumped, played, and spun all around us. Two more whales were seen on the way back. This was much. much better than the whale watching tour I had just taken in Maui by a long shot. Once back ashore, we had plenty of time before our scheduled return ride back to Waikiki. There was enough time to walk to the shrimp food trucks, a return to the cafe for more tea, and a stop for shave ice. This is an absolute Must Do if you are on Oahu. There is plenty of parking for those who drive. The pickup is a nice option for those who need/want it.

We were so very excited for this tour and North Shore Shark lived up to all the hype! Staff was very friendly and helpful and the vessel was very clean. We saw so many sharks of all sizes, mostly Sandbar and Reef sharks. The day we went had very little people scheduled and they let us stay in the cage for almost triple the usual time. We also attended during whale season and we able to see some whales on the ride out to the cage. One of the best tours ever!!
