- Richard N0 contributionsGreat experience2nd time to join this shark adventure trip. On our way to the shark cage, we chance upon a pod of dolphins and the capt stop the boat and allowed to look at them as they swim besides the boat for about 10 to 15 mins. Some dolphins even did the spinning and it was super great. The shark encounter was also great. Crew of the boat was very accommodating and very professional. After the trip you can shower at the dock and change clothes in the restroom. Although the restroom is public and a quite dirty.Written 10 September 2024

- Trek212029519820 contributionsGreat timesGreat experience with a friendly staff. My wife and I selected to do the 6:30 am tour for calmer waters and because we heard the sharks are out early. We saw so MANY sharks all around and under the cage. The boat ride is about 15-20 minutes to where they allow us to enter the cage. Make sure to take motion sickness pills if you're vulnerable to getting sea sick. Wife did end up feeling a little sick but she is a trooper and still got into the cage. Bring your cameras you will see lots of sharks. At least we did on our tour.Written 5 September 2024

- Amber F0 contributionsMust doWe loved cage diving with sharks. The only problem I had was we paid to the video and to be downloaded to our phones, but they only had iPhone adapter. They did give us the micro sd card of the video to take home with us. Which I was able to burn on an USB drive for my computer. The video was amazing.Written 3 September 2024

I was SO looking forward to a shark diving adventure, and sadly, it wasn't as breathtaking as I thought it would be. You meet in a dark parking lot at the marina, there is no office or physical building (unless you count the tiny little shack that no one goes on). There are some public washrooms nearby that are something out of a horror movie. The ride out was so scenic, we went on the first cruise so we were lucky enough to see the sunrise and watch them put the cage in the water. As promised, there were tons of sharks but they were all Galapagos sharks. It felt misleading as the website lists so many varieties of sharks, they post videos of other sharks including tiger sharks however, while on the tour they told us they only see a tiger shark once a year or so. There were lots of sharks, they were decently sized, you could see them coming in from so far away. Our group was split into two so half were in the cage, and half were on the boat looking down. We purchased the Go Pro Video, they tell you ahead of time that it is uncut. It was very cool to have that souvenir to take home. I would shark dive again, but with more realistic expectations.

Aloha Young86. Thank you very much for joining us. We are so happy you saw "tons of sharks" and "decently sized" sharks! We apologize the harbor bathroom was not satisfactory. That facility is managed by the state of Hawaii, not by us, but we will bring your comments to their attention. And just to clarify to other readers... our Trip Advisor description it states "view primarily Galapagos sharks and sandbar sharks". And on our own website under FAQ under what type of sharks do we see...."Mostly Galapagos and Sandbar sharks which can reach up to 12+ feet (4 meters). Occasionally, Tiger or Hammerhead". We do post videos of cool things like seeing whale sharks and tiger sharks because they are extra ordinary and we like to share them with everyone. We do hope you will join us again next time. Mahalo, Joseph Pavsek.

My girlfriend and I caught the 6:30am tour (which I highly recommend for a good sunrise on the northern ridges). From the get-go Jules and Tanja were very friendly and fun, and gave interesting facts about these majestic sea critters
Our tour had about 10 people and they split us into two groups to enter the cage at a time, the cages are spacious though and plenty of room to dive down and navigate others.
You are GUARANTEED a shark sighting, there was not a moment we didn’t have a shark within 20 feet of cage, and often they would swim close enough to touch (would not recommend)
Be sure to bring Dramamine, not for the boat ride, but surprisingly for the cage - it rides the waves since its attached to floats
Well worth your time, go say hi to Jules for us!!

Captain and crew were entertaining during transit and informative about shark behavior during the dive. They took health precautions regarding the spread of Covid-19 by limiting group size. Our family of four had the tank to ourselves. Also, the captain knew of techniques to keep the sharks intrigued and circling the boat in a non-threatening way throughout our time at sea so everyone could study the sharks regardless of order of rotation.

I recently spent a week in Hawaii with a group of business associates, and we decided to go for a cage dive with the sharks. The experience was incredible. We were greeted by super friendly people, the owner was hilarious. The captain and his first mate were informative and entertaining, and at no time did we feel unsafe. Make sure you take a windbreaker, it can be a little chilly getting out there but once you're in the water it's super comfortable. Just do it, you won't regret it.

I had taken my 2 children last week 11/8, ages 12 and 13.. we were apart of the first group in the water.. my 12 year old son wanted to get out of the cage because one of the other passengers were in the cage gagging and throwing up.. it was making him feel nauseous.. I stayed in the cage with my 13 year old daughter.. while we were still in the cage, unfortunately my 12 year old son got sick and didn’t make it to the side of the boat.. the attendant “Matty” treated my 12 year old son like pure crap for getting sick and humiliated him in front of the other passengers that were on the boat at the time.. once I was climbing up the ladder out of the cage with my daughter, he came to me and said “your kid got sick and he sprayed on your things”, I of course immediately went to my son who was visibly upset.. the attendant “Matty” followed me over to him scolding me for him getting sick, I’m front of all the other passengers.. everyone was uncomfortable with how he was acting.. one of the other passengers had to say “he is only a child, leave it be..” this is the first and last time I will ever use this company.. if you have children, or think u may get sea sick, use another company in the harbor!! Awful experience..

We booked via Groupon and paid about $89 a person. I believe when we first looked at the pricing in fall of 22, the price per person was around $120 via company's website. I booked for a group of 4 for an early session, 8:30AM specifically. However, when we arrived mid-December, the waves were too dangerous for our tour. We had to reschedule due to that but all time sessions left were the 12:30pm ones, and that conflicted with our plans. Not to mention, my fiance has horrible motion sickness/sea sick, so we knew that 12:30 would mean choppier waves.
We decided to go through with it as it was a hassle to get a refund through Groupon. Our tour had exactly 12 people, so we had 20 mins with six people in a cage. The waves were very choppy but when you were inside the cage, the choppy waves were not felt. Visibility was about 200 feet, lots of sharks coming near the boat as they are attracted to the sound/vibrations. The cage is left in the ocean and the boat will depart maybe about 10-20 feet from the cage. When you first climb into the cage, be careful, as the ladder can be slippery. I was offered to go down first, but I was too scared. The snorkel gear was amazing. If you're not a strong swimmer like me, you'll be fine. I was a bit worried about the choppy waves, not being able to grasp well on to the cage bars, and drowning, but none of that happened. However, when I did look down, I noticed that one bar from the bottom cage was missing. That did drive my anxiety up.
Anyways, I am so glad we booked the excursion and went through with our plans. This is one of the highlights of my Hawaii trip and I always so glad to share with my family, friends, and public about this experience. My two advices are to buy through the company itself instead of via third party and buy a waterproof phone case. There are great ones I have purchased from Amazon and work well in 20+ feet depth. You'll definitely want some of memories to look back at. Oh, and record/take pics at .5 if you have an iPhone. That way, the phone will capture everything.
Last but not least, the ocean is a beautiful place with beautiful animals. So, please try to be safe and save the turtles:)

This was truly a once in a life fun experience. I felt completely safe during the dive w/ the sharks. It's best to go earliest in the morning as possible as the water is much calmer. We did the 10am and the water was getting choppy while in the tank cage but still had a great time. We seen multiple sharks. They swam underneath & around the sides of us. The water was beautifully blue just like in the movies. The amount time time in the water cage was about 10 mins per group (perfect). As each goes in the cage, the other group can walk about the boat and see the sharks below the surface. One of the best experiences in my life. We're definitely doing this again.

The best tour we did in Oahu! The staff was awesome, explained everything in detail, answered everyone's questions, and were friendly. We parked in the lot (which is free btw!) and met up with our group- I'd say there were about 10-12 of us. Each group got about a 20minute dive in the cage to see the sharks. It was Incredible! We went first thing in the morning (we heard they are more active then & that the water is calmer for anyone w/ motion sickness) and we saw over a dozen Galapagos sharks. I had a cheapish underwater camera for the trip and the water was so clear I actually got some pretty amazing pictures! We felt safe (for anyone nervous) and it's such an incredible experience to see them in the wild!

I had the best experience on this shark cage dive. The crew made the whole thing an amazing experience. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and great at giving instructions on what to do. They give you plenty of time to take pictures and videos and they offer to video the outside of the cage for a fee. It was worth every penny and I plan on going back again. This needs to be at the top of your to do list when visiting Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shark dive was so much fun, there were so many more sharks than we expected! The dive instructors were knowledgeable and exciting. My friend who came for the boat ride was scared to get in with the sharks, after talking with the instructor she decided to get in the cage as well. She had a great time too! We were able to be spaced out away from other people which was nice and everything felt safe and comfortable, the staff was super nice and helpful, and it was really easy to find the location.

I wouldn't recommend if you are pregnant. Not only is it difficult getting in and out of the cage but the cage is very rough. I ended up banging my knee into the cage and got kicked a few times by others in the cage. The water rocks the cage that it is very hard not to be tossed around.

Hi,
The tour looks very interesting..! I can swim freestyle. But I have never snorkeled before and I'm not sure I can tread water..? Can I participate in the event?
Also, gopros can work 33ft down in water. I'm interested in filming some of the sights during the activities. Does it go below 33ft?
Thank you!
Written 20 February 2023
The dive is on the surface only. The cage floats on the surface of the water. The deepest you can dive is about 8-10ft to the bottom of the cage. You don't need to swim or tread water. There's not enough room in the cage to do either. You hold onto the handrails and bars on the side of the cage. If you try to swim, you will kick other participants.

I don't think the operator has set a minimum age. There was a boy about 7 years old that was in the cage with his dad when we went. He did fine.
