My title says it all!!! On December 26,2024 we booked a family trip and decided to rent e-bikes in Maui. We book our bikes for January 19th 2025 and our credit card was fully charged. Upon arrival on January 19th, we showed up at 9:30 for our appointment. The gentleman in the waiting area was from another company and told us the person that we rented from was out of town and nobody was there to help us. We called the number and a message told us to text them so we did and no response. We will be opening a case with our credit card company to get our money back. The sad part about it is when you book an excursion and nobody shows up and you’ve wasted your time you can’t get it back and other places are already booked. So my advise to YOU is DO NOT book this excursion or if you do…. Bring your own bike!!!!!

Today four of us showed up at Whaler's Village to pick up e-bikes that we rented through Viator. We noticed when we saw the rental contract that the price we had agreed to pay through Viators was lower than the price the contract suggested we should pay. When we pointed this out to the kid manning the Black Rock Bikes booth he was uncooperative, argumentative and disrespectful to us. I had to point this out to him directly to get him to act professionally and work through the issue. He called someone and told them about the price difference, which he initally told us we had to handle ourselves directly with Viator. At the end he agreed to honor the Viator price and stopped his disrespectful behavior. The bikes were fine and we had a nice two hour ride.

BEWARE - They will add a drop down tip on the bottom when you sign out. We didn't notice it and they added $20 to a $60 rental. Other than that loved riding from the Wharf to Lahaina. Easy ride with a lot of wildlife to see along the way.

Great and pretty inexpensive way to spend a few hours exploring Maui! My boyfriend and I rented e-bikes for 4 hours and had a great time riding up to Kapalua with a pit stop at the Coffee Farms, Honokowai Beach Park, and the Kapalua Cliff House. We also stopped and had a drink at Montage Kapalua Bay Resort's tiki bar (swanky but friendly) and got some recommendations from the bartenders there of what to do in Maui and Kauai. We were a little nervous about our batteries, so we didn't stop too many places, but if we did it again, would probably do a little more pre-planning. We also both had never ridden E-Bikes before and it was very easy...just got to be careful on the busy roads!! I'm not sure how comfortable I would have been with the route to Kapalua if we had children with us.

My 15 year old daughter and I had a great day in the e-bikes. We rode all the up to Kapalua, along the ocean and up in the hills. Definitely recommend this fun activity if you have older teens who are easily bored.

What a great way to zip around Maui! We had never tried Ebikes before but we’re glad we did. They will set you up with everything you need including directions on where to go to see the beautiful areas.

This was such a great morning. The bikes are so easy to use and a great way to see the island. Our family enjoyed this so much! High recommend!

This is a nice adventure in Kanapali. The staff there is great, bikes are in excellent shape. We took the ride to Kapalua. Parked and did the costal trail there. Great views. Then rode back stopping at the Fish Market for tacos. The whole experience was very nice and bikes are pretty easy to ride, although very heavy.

We loved riding their electric bikes, which were practically new at the time. The process was easy, and they helped us know where to go using their map. We had such a great experience we are now looking at buying an electric bike.

Easy to rent. New equipment in great shape. Helpful staff. Good rates. Highly recommend. They supply helmets along with maps and recommend trails.

Great e-bike. Explained well. Be aware with even assistance of “1” the bike kicks in as soon as you release the brake.

This was the highlight of our trip. Black Rock Bikes has the coolest electric bikes on the island. We rode to Kapalua from Whalers Village then went to the top of the Coffee Farms. What a blast!
