- 1Jungle Splash Eco toursStop: 8 hours - Admission includedDuring the tour, you will see three different waterfalls and will have the option to swim and cliff jump from each. The Un-Named waterfall: Pools upon pools of crystal clear waters falling onto one another, the un-named waterfall is never the same, but ever changing. The high calcium deposit that runs through this fall calcifies fallen leaves, twigs, and even living ferns that dare to lounge upon the cool flowing waters. The Twin Falls: While the Twin-falls both cut a course through the same granite barrier, they stand boldly apart in both size and features. Rio-Frio Waterfall: The Rio-Frio waterfall is the ideal waterfall to bathe under! Untouched waters tumble off a cliff of approximately 75Ft high and into a large open pool, ideal for bathing and splashing into. About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CBO12180 contributionsAwesome Pontoon boat waterfall adventure with Jungle SplashMy husband and I and our adult daughter did the pontoon boat waterfall tour with Jungle Splash. We had an amazing time. We were on the boat with a family of five and another couple, so there were 10 of us in total. Our guides were Nadir and Giovanni and they were both phenomenal. They were friendly, funny and knowledgeable and made sure that we all had a great experience. The last part of the car ride to the boat is extremely bumpy, but that’s part of the adventure. When we arrived at the boat we got to see two howler monkeys up in a nearby tree. We saw three waterfalls and got to swim a couple of times. The waterfalls are all different experiences and they were all great. The meal on the boat was outstanding. They used the grill on the boat to cook chicken and sausage and also served beans and really delicious potatoes. It really was a very memorable experience that everyone enjoyed. I would highly recommend this tour with Jungle Splash.Written 20 January 2024
- tinalocklear0 contributionsAwesome Jungle RideWe had a really awesome time riding well cared for horses in the jungle today. Robert was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. His property was gorgeous. We ate a delicious lunch right outside an enormous dry cave before we went in to explore. I definitely recommend this activity and tour company!Written 9 December 2023
- Cruiser5334500 contributionsMemorable experience, in the rainRobert communicates very well and quickly with answers to questions, confirming excursions, and places where we were meeting up. This was one of three excursions my husband and I booked through "Jungle Splash Tours". It was raining pretty good the morning of our scheduled horseback ride and Robert sent me a message to confirm and make sure we still wanted to do a full day ride because the forecast was not going to lighten up. My husband and I figured that we were there, and not going to be dry no matter what we chose to do that day, so we went ahead and did the ride. Due to the rain, we were not able to do the typical excursion, so we did not see the cave but we did go up to Minanha ("the forgotten city") on the horses with four dogs in tow, and it gave us an very wet experience of trekking through the jungle up and down some muddy, slippery, rocky slopes with Robert in the front forging the way using his machete when needed to clear out everything on the path. We all returned with boots soaked and full of water. While at Minanha (which is a massive complex now all overgrown by vegetation), he showed us photos and a survey drawing that was done by the archeologists who partially excavated the area in the 1990's, showed us where to look for certain areas on the survey, a copal tree, and other things of interest. We had all sorts of questions and Robert answered all of them as well as taught us a lot about the culture and the area. We also didn't do the typical picnic lunch because of the rain, so Robert arranged that lunch be prepared for us and ready at our place when we returned (we were staying close to Vaca Lake). It had been many years since I had been horseback riding and the same with my husband. The horses are well behaved but also willing (in other words, they aren't worn out horses who want to just stay in the pasture) and so the experience was really good and I was able to just let the horse figure out where it needed to go for stepping on the trail (for the most part anyway, aside from them wanting to eat along the way (the typical) and the areas where it was tight near some trees and the horse needed to adjust so my leg wasn't being rammed in to a tree).Written 6 November 2023
- 911tamid0 contributionsAn emotional and amazing experience. 10 outa 10Part 3 I do not know where to even begin explaining my experiences today. I did things I never thought I would do. Conquered fears I never thought I could. Seen things I never thought I would. Honestly this whole week has been like this but today was truly special. We rode horses through the Mayan jungles of Belize, saw ancient artifacts, bones and ruins, visited a sacred cave and climbed through burial chambers.. I’m very claustrophobic but I did it!!, listened to a powerful thunder storm while eating a homemade Belizean lunch.. I could go on and on.. this has been such a beautiful and emotional experience. One that I will NEVER forget! ❤️🥹❤️Written 14 September 2023
- 569mistyd0 contributionsAbsolutely amazing!!Omg where do I even start.. Today was indescribably amazing. We rode horses into the jungle to a cave that is privately owned. As soon as we got there a thunderstorm hit and down poured. I love thunderstorms. We ate our yummy lunch there at the mouth of the cave in the storm. We went in to explore the cave. It felt like we had just discovered it. We found so many Mayan artifacts and he convinced us to climb, on hands and knees through a very small, long burial chamber. It really made us face our fears of small spaces. Robert, our, guide was so great. I could never describe this experience in a post. Life changing!! My horse Azteca was the best❤️Written 14 September 2023
- LazySherpa0 contributionsTop notch!Absolutely wonderful - we booked at the last minute and our guide Geovanni was awesome. Highly recommended - the best way to experience the real Belizean jungle.Written 19 April 2023

- Gtroy90000 contributionsBest Day on the Macal River! Thank you Robert and Nabir!Robert was able to curate a perfect trip for my wife and me. Although we were flying back and forth from San Pedro, he was able to help us get to the farm, and plan a filled afternoon with River and waterfall tours, a beautiful lunch, and horseback riding through the jungle. Having Nabir as our guide was amazing and really made the trip perfect. I would recommend anyone to go see Robert on his farm and ranch to experience the Jungle and Macal River in Belize!Written 7 March 2023
- khg4r76df0 contributionsGreat for familiesMy family (39F, 38M, 6M, and 2M) had an amazing time on this excursion. Our day started at 8am when we met our guide, David Hernandez, in a convenient location and he drove us over to Xunantunich. He was very knowledgeable about the site and was patient with our kids. We spent a good amount of time at the site (close to 2 hours), and explored everything that was open to us. Next, we headed to the pontoon where we met up with another guide (Giovanni) and 2 other groups of travelers. We got to see Pepe, the adorable crocodile that hangs out near the boats, before heading to the first waterfall. The setting was beautiful, the water was calm, the forest was magnificent, the falls were great. Our guides served a delicious lunch on the boat, before taking us to a second waterfall. There were opportunities to explore under waterfalls, use the rope swing into the water, explore near the falls. We got back to San Ignacio after 5, so it was a full day of fun. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would recommend it to other families, even those traveling with smaller kids.Written 27 January 2023
- chereval0 contributionsAmazing and a must do!Giovanni was the best tour guide and made our day! I highly suggest doing this tour if you’re coming to Belize. They’re knowledgeable, kind, well ran and the food was the best meal I’ve had in this country! It was an amazing way to spend the day and so beautiful.Written 22 December 2022
- joyd7760 contributionsExcellent10 out of 10 for our day on the Pontoon trip with Jeovani! We have memories that will last a life time. We saw magnificent waterfalls, my husband and daughter swung from a tree like Tarzan splashing into the jungle water. Jeovani made us a delicious BBQ lunch and he is super funny. We kind of feel like he became our friend not just a tour guide. Jeovani is super friendly, warm, and engaging. We would definitely take this tour again it was so relaxing and the views of the jungle from the pontoon are extraordinarily beautiful. I highly recommend Jungle Pontoon Waterfall day trip!Written 21 July 2022
- C4569ZTmikeh0 contributionsMust do day trip in San IgnacioBest day in San Ignacio hands down. Don't skip this. Most of it is in a national park and the crew, scenery, food and whole vibe was unbelievable. Plus it's actually locally owned!!Written 9 July 2022
- Casey C0 contributionsFantastic Experience with excellent guidesMy wife and I spent the day with Ramos and Jeobani. We had an awesome time learning the Mayan history and walking the ruins as our guide explained the history. We then rode over to hop on the pontoon boat with Jeobani and saw toucans, crocodiles and lots of other birds. Heard the howler monkeys several times. We got to swim the waterfalls, hike a little and just relax on the pontoon boat ride. Lunch was great on the pontoon boat as well. This was the best way to experience the jungle for us. Guides gave us as much time as we wanted to explore and enjoy. Absolutely perfect. This is a must do in Belize. Thanks so much to Jungle Splash Eco-Tours!! They also sqeezed us in for a sunset horseback riding tour through the jungle. they really went out of their way to make it happen for us as it was a last minute request. We had an awesome time, with crazy good views from the mountain tops.Written 22 June 2022
- edwarjb0 contributionsHorseback riding with history and a viewThis isn’t a ruin exploration trip, that has to be kept in mind. You get to see an old site that was somewhat excavated but now is taken back over by the jungle. However, it was an amazing experience with very knowledgeable guides and it was interesting and informative to get a clear view and understanding of how so much you see in this area of Belize that looks like hills/ mountains is actually ruins and temples. It’s was several hours on horseback there and back so if you want a day to just go ridding and enjoy nature this is it. The tour stops by a very large cave allowing yourself and the horses a break. This part is as interactive as you want it to be, rather it be just looking at the formations or a little bit of crawling. Lunch is provided here and was delicious. The company also offers pontoon boat waterfall tours that I hate I didn’t fit in this trip, but plan on coming back to do. Just email Robert and Rachael and they are flexible to make a tour that caters to you. I’m thankful they allowed me the experience as I couldn’t get anyone to join when I went. Overall it was a relaxing and enjoyable day with some really neat surprises and beautiful views mixed in and I definitely recommend it if you want something off the beaten path and different.Written 17 March 2022

Traveling with younger children (3 years old and 10 months old in our case) in San Ignacio which is known for its outdoor activities can be challenging, and in an effort to find something kid-friendly and relaxing on our last day, we booked a pontoon ride with Jungle Splash. I am truly glad we did — the pontoon ride was one of our FAVORITE things that we did while in Belize! The ride itself is pure magic. You do not cover a vast distance but somehow see beautiful jungle hills, glorious waterfalls that you can jump into and can spend time just getting lost in the vast landscape. The boat itself is so much fun and makes you feel like you’re on an adventure with its rustic vibe!
Our guide, Geovanny (I hope I spelled that right?), was incredible, and helped us each step of the way from taking family photos for us, to helping us lift out kids over rocks at tricky spots to ensure we had a chance to enjoy the waterfalls as well to making our kids laugh with games he played with them on the boat. He was knowledgeable about the area and made a delicious, vegetarian friendly grilled pineapple dish for us on the boat. Definitely plan for this to be a whole day activity with the added travel to and from the river!

This was hands down the best thing we did while staying in the area. I thought it was going to be a leisurely ride with lunch, which it was, but it was SOOOO much more!! The crew (Roberto and Nadir) was so funny and made everyone have the best time with their jokes and hospitality. You can tell that they love their job because of their attitude, love of the jungle where they grew up, and their genuine interest in making sure everyone has fun… whether fun for you is sitting and soaking in the sun, viewing wildlife and taking a swim, or being really adventurous and trying some new challenges!! It really can be as exciting as you want it to be because there are opportunities to swim in waterfalls, tube, jump and swing from the rocks into the water, see nature, hike a little bit…. Everything you could want out of an absolutely perfect day! We had a BLAST!!! It was the best money I spent on my trip so far - so book it!

The tour started out slow. The driver and tour guide picked us up from our hotel. He traveled 1 hour out of the way to pick us up. That was very nice. He then took us into the mountain. The road was very bumpy but entertaining. We went around the river looking for crocodile nests then things picked up from there. Went to a nice waterfall where we swam and enjoyed the water massaging our neck and back. We then went to another fall. I fell off the boat, Robert grabbed me and pulled me out of the water before other bad things can happen. Then we jumped off a swinging rope and partook in cliff jumping. His cousin, Effrain was cooking up a delicious meal while we were having fun. We had a good lunch. They provided some local beers, always a plus. After lunch we continued our excursion while being pulled on an inner tube. Then, home. Robert was very knowledgeable about the river, animals, fishes, plants, rock formation and sedimentation. For green loving people who want to preserve the earth, these 2 guys fished all the plastic stuffs in the river and respected wild lives. Enjoyed this immensely

Robert and Danny were amazing hosts and guides! Walking through the jungle they answered all of our questions about the jungle, plants and animals around us. Danny made an excellent lunch on the pontoon and had so much fun at the waterfalls. We also expressed interest in the sunset horseback ride and accommodated us immediately and took us up the mountIan. They were so friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend this tour and any other tour that they offer! Thanks again Danny and Robert!

Most beautiful scenery. Most beautiful day. Most accommodating tour operators. The barbecue lunch was above and beyond. We booked a private tour and Robert (the owner) took us out. I am a very picky eater and they really made sure I left the tour with a full belly. We didn’t know what to expect and we were beyond impressed with the day. Relaxing day on the boat. Fun little hike to a waterfall and great swim. My dad is not in shape to hike and Robert took every step with him making sure he can balance and walk through the jungle. He swam holding his stuff in the air to make sure nothing gets wet. He went above and beyond. Robert was also so knowledgeable and funny. We spent three days in San Ignacio and this was the best tour we did. Don’t miss it. Thank you again to Robert for one of the best and memorable days with my family in beautiful Belize!

This was a much needed family trip in our very own Belizean backyard, we went deep into the Cayo district to explore 3 refreshing waterfalls along the Macal River guided by Jungle Splash Eco-Tours.
We drove to Benque in our own van & followed the way led by 2 of the guides. It took some time getting to the property because of the distance & the bumpy road. After arrival we all loaded in a 4WD pick up which took us to the riverside boat. The view was AMAZING! Along the river was so peaceful & picturesque it was as if time stood still & we forgot about the Pandemic for a little while. Or 1st stop required a little hike to the waterfall. The 2nd stop was the best, our boat went right up under the waterfall then docked at the little beach where we had lunch. We brought snacks & food which the guide helped us prepare on their grill while sailing. The 3rd waterfall was small with crystal clear water. Our guide was informative & courteous, the boat was comfortable & spacious with life vests.
It felt good to get away & tour parts of the country we've only heard of. There's is still plenty more to explore. This river tour was a beautiful experience & all in all it was time well spent! #BelizeanTraveler #familyiseverything #makingmemories

We had so much fun in the waterfalls and hanging out cruising through the jungle with Robert. Can't recommend this enough if you want something slower to soak in the views, eat great food and explore the waterfalls. My wife was nervous when we exited the boat to walk around and Robert took the time to help and make her feel at ease. Enjoy!

I think this river cruise is Belize's best kept secret! Our group of 4 (my sister, me and my sister's young adult kids) were lucky enough to have the pontoon to ourselves; additionally, we only saw 2 other boats on the river all day! Our guide was Nadir, who is extremely warm and funny - within about 2 hours of meeting, he was part of the family! He accommodated every request, big or small. For example, when we got in the car, I was telling my sister that I was looking for a banana at breakfast but the hotel didn't have any...Nadir stopped at a fruit stand so I could get some! That's how the whole day was...anything the kids wanted to do, Nadir said, Sounds like fun! All of this in a beautiful setting with 3 waterfalls all to ourselves?? Easily one of the most fun days ever!
I don't have enough words of praise for Nadir and the Jungle waterfall adventure! Book and experience it yourselves, you will not regret it!

Our family had a blast on this truly unique excursion. Our guide had a great sense of humor and really seemed to love what he does. We had so much fun with him. We went during the low season, so had a huge, hand made pontoon boat to ourselves, and there was nobody else on the river. we visited 3 waterfalls, each unique from the other, with the last near a cliff jumping spot and rope swing. The lunch which was cooked on the grill on the pontoon boat was delicious, and the Macal River is so beautiful. We heard howler monkeys and saw amazing bird and insect life. My family would 1,000 percent recommend this tour, especially to those who enjoy swimming.

What a great day! My family of 4 (including a 16 & 21-year-old) really enjoyed the day. Nadir was a fantastic guide giving us lots of time to enjoy the hikes and waterfalls.
Giovanni was our chef for the day and prepared a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a tree swing, saw monkeys and crocodiles (while tubing!). I highly recommend this excursion.

The tour takes place on a river and large lake near San Ignacio. Amberguis Caye is a fare distance from there so you would need to make your way to San Ignacio to join the tour.
