About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- stephenpT4717PR0 contributionsCast members a thing of the pastRemember when CAST member meant something. The employees played parts in every land, at every ride. They asked you how our day was. It really set Disney apart from six flags etc because they were CAST members. They made it fun. Sadly that is gone. I have visited Disneyland since the 70's. So everyone that is 30 or under may disagree with me, but that is because they never got to experience the magic the way i did. As a kid, as a father, and now a grandfather. WE visited last week for a couple days with my granddaughter. I noticed that there were plenty of employees just no cast members. At every venue, no one went out of their way to ask us how are day was, where we were from, or who our favorite characters were, etc. They did talk among fellow employees, but really no interaction with us, the customer. This is how it is at every business etc. But its not suppose to be this way at Disney. We were waiting to go into the Star wars Cantina, first in line with three employees feet away, including a manager. Not one went out of there way to even talk to us. We just stood there listening to the conversations they were having co worker to co worker about the party they went to. This is one example of what happened everywhere for two straight days. The workers didnt seem to want to be at work. No energy or excitment. And for you that are too young, this is something that was so special about Disney. I understand after covid it is difficult to find people who want to work. And I understand Disney has to have workers. So i understand in not being able to hire CAST members like the past. It just really made this an expensive, not very magical visit. It was sad to see this since this is what really made Disneyland such a magical place.Written 7 December 2024
- AFMAN9990 contributionsAn enjoyable visit to the first ever Disney park! This was my first visit to the original, first ever Disney park, Disneyland! I had a very enjoyable experience in this park over the 3 days I spent exploring everything the park has to offer! I love how the characters freely roam! There are plenty of delicious dining options and so many fun attractions to enjoy! It was great to visit during the Halloween season and see everything decorated, it felt so immersive! I am definitely looking forward to my next visit at Disneyland! I definitely recommend!Written 7 December 2024
- Allison B0 contributionsMagical ExperienceI would not advise to do this without the help of a Disney planner. Even with a written itinerary from a seasoned agent, Disney parks is no joke! Is it busy? Of course it is! It’s the most popular attraction in the world for families and adults alike! But if you’re there to truly immerse yourself in what Disney has to offer, you will have a great time. Lightening lanes were useless in my opinion, with stand-by lines often having shorter and closer wait-times than if you booked a lightening lane for an hour or more away. 60 minute wait times for certain rides were difficult, especially with children. Disney should consider how to make such rides more functional for the amount of visitors they have daily. Cast members were inconsistent in nature, with some providing curt/incorrect location directions vs staff who would go out of their way to walk us to where we needed to go. Disney should have more signs available throughout the parks to help families more easily navigate the parks and to take additional strain off their cast members. Though a map is made available, it is not user friendly if it’s your first time. I only noted on our second day that you can use the location tab on the mobile app to see where you are and how to get where you need to go. This would have saved us so much time and energy. Bathrooms in the park are well kept. There were at least 2 cleaning ladies in each bathroom I entered who were consistently making their rounds from stall to stall to keep it clean and well stocked. Well done! We went for the Holiday season and it’s an experience we will treasure forever. The fireworks brought my husband to tears while the parade had me equally in tears. We only had two days and though we seen most of the park, a third day would have allowed us to fully experience the park as we did miss some rides and attractions. We can’t wait to be back to experience more Disney magic!Written 19 November 2024
- DutchMachine0 contributionsOverpriced, Overcrowded, but gotta do it onceOverpriced tickets, overcrowded parks, crazy expensive food, drink & souvenirs. The experience obviously is cool for kids. However, when you need to reserve park dates you would think that the crowds are a bit more manageble. 2 hour wait times for certain rides is crazy. Unless off course you want to upgrade your experience for a lot of money so you can skip a line. Disney sure knows how to take your money and how to take it fast. Unfortunately the breakdown of rides takes away from the expected busy experience. Gotta do it once with the kids, but not sure I would be interested in doing it again for the price they charge.Written 15 November 2024
- solo22650 contributionsOur trip to Disneyland, LA.What more is there to say? Visiting Disneyland has always been our childhood dream, and finally, after more than 50 years of waiting, we made it! Better late than never, right? We went on a weekday, yet it was understandably crowded. The security check and entrance process were smooth and efficient. We initially bought regular one-park tickets, but seeing the crowds, we opted to add the Lightning Pass. It was a great decision, saving us a lot of time, as we only had one day to explore. Entering the park, we noticed that the Disney Main Railroad was closed for repairs. We headed down Main Street to the Sleeping Beauty Castle and then to Fantasyland. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Adventureland were absolute highlights! We also visited the Haunted Mansion, where the Virtual Queue was a brilliant option—allowing us to enjoy other attractions while waiting for our spot. The wind was quite strong that day, making the evening pretty chilly, but thankfully, we brought our sweaters. We managed to experience many classic and fan-favorite attractions, though "It's a Small World" was also closed for refurbishment. We stayed until 9:30 PM, eagerly waiting for the laser light show since there was no parade or fireworks that night. Still, we enjoyed every second, fulfilling a dream we've held since childhood.Written 12 November 2024
- ectraveler70 contributionsThe Most Stressful Place on Earth.I really don't know where to even begin. We did both parks over two days. Half of the rides are not in operation, and the ones that are have a 60 minute + wait. The wait just gets longer because corporate greed allows people to pay more and skip the lines. As we waited in a long line for Big Thunder Mountain, I lost count after over 100 people used the lightning pass to go around us. That line finally met up with ours at one point! Then you get to ride a ride for a whole 5 minutes! Disney needs to drastically limit the amount of people in their parks. You are literally elbow to elbow walking anywhere in the parks - though Adventure Park wasn't nearly as bad as Disneyland. People pushing their way through, rushing to take photos of everything, it's miserable! I have a bad back, and after walking for an hour or so, I need to sit on a bench with a back. Good luck finding one anywhere. 100,000 people in the park, 20 benches. People were sitting anywhere they could find space, again - terrible! Everything is overpriced and underdelivered. Lunch at Wine Country in Adventure Park was the best of the group. Lunch and dinner at other places was not worth it. I also didn't bother with any souvenirs. The firework show at 9:30 in Disneyland was a nightmare too. People start claiming spaces at 7:00. You can try to get yours, but as the time draws nearer, others will huddle around you, push you out of the way, or the park attendants will herd you forward like cattle until you can't move anymore. All that for a disappointing 15 minute show. Walt Disney World did a show that was 20x better, and they had the logistics set up for good spacing of people and views. Definitely won't be coming back, not worth any of the aggravation.Written 16 October 2024
- soph_ydg0 contributionsVery goodWe visited on 3 occasions over our week trip to California. Our first visit was on 1/10 to Oogie Boogie Bash. We entered the park at 3pm to make good use of some time before the party starts to get on some rides and have some photos taken. Once it hit 6pm we explored the character trails - with high hopes we actually felt disappointed - the best trail was for Oogie Boogie and Dr Doofenschmirtz, these characters were very engaging and took the time to make an effort. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Sid and Ernest de la cruz. The parade was good but very short and rushed. CM's handing out candy too busy talking to each other to interact with guests. Compared to Mickeys not so scary there was not as much candy handed out. We were impressed with Disneyland however noted very long lines - for everything - drinks, popcorn, food, toilets and rides. Even the Genie+ queues were very long. In some parts of the park you felt sardined walking shoulder to shoulder with other guests. We spent one more day at DCA and the queues were better - but it is noticed for rides the majority is genie+ and then one family from standby queue. We did not bother with Genie+ as some of the queues looked bigger for this than stand by Disappointed no fireworks at either park during our visit. Overall a very nice parkWritten 10 October 2024
- carlanb20140 contributionsDisneyland Gouging Ticket Prices even for Seniors and VeteransWe attended the theme park with our family and had asked about both Veteran ticket prices and senior ticket prices, as regular prices are very high, almost criminal. We were told to get veteran tickets, try checking the base stationed on. Folks, I am a Vietnam vet and not on any base, so dumb answer on their part. As to a senior discount, that does not exist, they want to gouge everyone equally. We were only going there to watch our kids and grandkids (only because one part of our family went there as a young kid herself, but things have changed) at any rate we wrote the park about our experience, and they finally responded but a canned answer they would 'take our thoughts under advisement'. They would not help us out with any refund, so we as grandparents paid over $300 to just watch our grandkids, not to mention the high food prices that gouge one's wallet as well. Disney will be the last place we go to ever again, a very, very overpriced place to go and really not worth it. And we say that as very active grandparents, not ones to NOT be active with our family, but we can find much better options to spend less then $300 for two people.Written 1 October 2024
- deborahbN1321RN0 contributionsDisney DisappointmentAs a long time Disney Fanatic, our recent trip to Disneyland was very disappointing. I'm writing this in hopes of getting the attention of the Disney People who can institute change and return this family favorite to its original glory. Crowds are a part of the Disney experience, however, when rides and sections of the park are closed for renovation, or one park is closing early, visitors are forced into small spaces meaning there are fewer spaces for people to rest and recharge. What's worse is the difficulty with getting on a ride. With the price of tickets exceeding $114 (though advertised at $104) and pushing towards $200 during higher demand, you admission no longer guarantees anything: maybe only 1 or 2 rides (with 90+ minute wait times if they will even allow you to wait! We had repeated experiences where we were told the wait lines were closed!), no place to sit, and poor access to parades and shows. But here's the catch: you can pay an additional $30 plus dollars per person to get the opportunity to make a reservation for a ride. But even the additional purchase doesn't guarantee much of anything since you need to know how to access the ride reservations through the Disneyland App at preappointed times. In addition, eating with my family was very difficult. Little ones do not want to sit down for a meal and fast food service was hard to find. And, to grab some quick snacks were costing us $60 to $90 for my family! So here are the challenges: For my family of 3, the tickets and parking cost about $400. Food cost another $200. Souvenirs, well, that was another $200. This trip cost just under $1000 all in. We could say Disney needs to charge these prices to pay their bills, however, is that really what's going on? I ask this since the concept of Dynamic Pricing seems to dominate. Dynamic Pricing determines the original cost of the tickets, somewhat dynamic pricing for the cost of the add-on privilege to make appointments for the privilege of riding as the cost of the add-on varies depending on when you buy it. Also, we found restaurants were also using dynamic pricing. It seems that Dynamic Pricing is a politically correct term for gouging. I could keep going but working families will know what I'm talking about. Time was that anyone could go to Disneyland and enjoy the day next to families across all socio-economic classes. Things were presented equally with equal access. Now, thanks to false advertising for ticket prices, Disney has created a social class system that denies those with fewer resources less access to the fun.Written 27 September 2024
- DMC19580 contributionsOK But a couple of drawbacks. The first and oldest Disney park. What we were not aware of is that at this time of year there is no parade or fireworks, just a light show. Obviously, we should have checked on that, so our fault. My family and I have always enjoyed the Disney Parks and this was our fifth Disney park. We had hired a car in San Francisco and driven to Los Angeles and based ourselves in a hotel about four miles away. Due to problems with taxis we decided to drive to the park. The traffic was very heavy at the entrance to the car park off the West Ball Road and it took about 20 minutes to get parked. Once inside the park we had a great time although 100 minutes queues did put us off a few things, As it was supposed to be a quiet time of year we did not purchase fast track passes. Overall we did enjoy ourselves, but the projections onto the buildings on Main Street at night were obscured in places by the trees. If you are a Disney fan it is still worth a visit, but do your homework better than I did.Written 27 September 2024
- James H0 contributionsStill magical, but not quite like it was.Disney still knows how to turn on the magic. The new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area is breathtaking and amazingly rich in its theming. Likewise, the revamped Toontown is wonderful with its new signature attraction Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The only slight downside now is that a number of older attractions appear to be suffering at the expense of the new. Matterhorn Bobsleds was down much of the time we were there, likewise a few of the small dark rides in Fantasyland were experiencing unscheduled down time. The employees were a mixed group, some were as you expected in that they were friendly and helpful while others seemed almost indifferent to visitors. The “Lightning Lane” system for bypassing lines seemed to confuse some visitors as well, particularly the non-English speakers. Used properly, it was a godsend for getting on must do rides. The park is still a wonderful place, but the current attitude of the company has taken a little of the pixie dust out.Written 25 September 2024

- chloethomas12130 contributionsBest Day!As a WDW passholder, I was eager to visit a different location for a while. Disneyland Park in California did not disappoint. My mom and I were able to ride 20 rides in less than 12 hours on a Friday. Only a few were due to the LL system. We were so excited to try so many new rides, plus go on the same ones we have back home since they were different. Can’t wait to go back!Written 22 September 2024
Terrible! Even if you buy the Fast Pass, you still have to wait in line like everyone else to access the attractions. Plus, it works with the Disney app, and you have to “reserve” your attractions if you want to use the Fast Pass. You also can’t reserve more than one attraction, so you’re limited to whatever is available. Want to enter the Star Wars attraction? Well, you have to pay extra because it’s not included. Want to see the Fantasmic show? You won’t see it well either because if you don’t pay for a dinner package over $100, they’ll send you to the sides where you can’t see anything! The attractions break down! They took us off the riverboat without any explanation. At Pirates of the Caribbean (even with Fast Pass), we waited about an hour because “something had happened,” and if we wanted, we could go back! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, you come here to get stressed at “the happiest place on Earth”—what an irony!Written 21 September 2024

We’ve gone twice in the span of a month (second weekend of November and third weekend of December) and it is packed in these parks. If you are worried about crowds, you should NOT go to Disneyland. A good portion of people are wearing masks, but not everyone even though you are being asked to wear them anywhere indoors. The staff is fantastic and they are doing their best, but you can tell there are less staff than normal. If you go to Disneyland from here forward I would recommend you take advantage of Genie+, if you can afford it. It makes the day so much less stressful. Having been to Disneyland at least a hundred times, I hate that they are charging for quick access to their rides, but I can say it really made the day so much better. The strategy we used was to go to Fantasyland for the first hour, do as many rides as we could in there then start doing some of our lightening lanes starting with Space Mountain then start working our way through New Orleans Square, Critter Country, and into Galaxy’s Edge. We ate lunch in Batuu and then committed to the hour wait for Rise of the Resistance. Rise of Resistance is a must do attraction, the wait was totally worth it and not so bad even with 4 young kids. We then made our way towards Fantasyland to watch the Holiday Parade. After that we did Big Thunder Mountain and then we did the remaining rides in Tomorrowland, using the lightening lane for each. We then got some dinner and did Small World and ToonTown. Our group then split and the moms and the littlest kids got on the train and headed to the Tiki Room while the dads and our eldest daughter did a lightening lane for Indiana Jones. We went shopping and waited at the end of Main Street for the fireworks. This was the time where we realized how busy it was, there were people lined up almost to the end of Main Street to watch the fireworks! From rope drop fo fireworks, we enjoyed over 20+ attractions and experiences and weren’t stressed or angry. We literally waited no more than 10-15 for each ride with the lightening lane.
It was very possibly one of our best experiences in Disneyland, definitely at the top with kids!

Definitely a huge mark up on everything and not like I remember it, the Disney genie would be something I would recommend to purchase so you’re not standing in line, but it seems like they are doing trial and error with this Genie plus as the app sometimes is buggy and changes on a dime. Wait times just like that. You can expect to wait between a minimum of one to two hours, especially on a Monday or a Tuesday.
I would highly suggest mobile ordering and if you are wanting beignets you need to order them from the mint julep café, but it is more or less an hour away. If you want to get reservations at blue Bayou, you will need to book at least a month in advance. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride was remarkable and I really liked the update as well as the haunted mansion nightmare before Christmas during Halloween, overall Disney seems to mark up and they don’t seem to care on the prices as you can expect to pay anywhere between 20 to 30 per meal per food item and at least $50 and up for clothing. The food is unique, and I highly recommend stopping at Main Street where they have mac & cheese, chili, in a sourdough bread bowl as well as a ton of desserts next-door to the holly jolly café. I would highly suggest watching some YouTube videos before you go if you are going to be a foodie like I was🥹

I’m not sure the reasoning for park reservations. The park is extremely busy even with the reservation. We wanted to do California Adventure one day and Disneyland the next but weren’t able to get into California Adventure due to the reservation system. I didn’t feel the need to buy a park hopper ticket when one day at Disney and one day at California Adventure is sufficient and no reason to jump back-and-forth for extra money.
I have noticed over the years the park has somewhat gone downhill. There is no organization at closing. They ask everyone to be on the road which is hard with all of the tracks woven in when you have strollers, wheelchairs etc. The fact that they don’t have the trams running from the parking garage is which are open air but have buses running from the toy story lot is weird to me. After walking in the park all day do you really think I want to walk even farther to my vehicle? There was hardly anyone parked in the toy story lot which made it very simple to get in and out. That is the one upside to my trip.
The amount you have to pay for food is ridiculous. Three slices of pizza and three drinks cost me more than $40. And the pizza was gross.
The Halloween show was ridiculous as you cannot even sit and watch it. They tell you this an hour and a half before the show starts that you will have to stand up because they open it up and it’s standing room only. We got up and didn’t even watch the show.
not sure if I will be returning to Disneyland which really is a bummer.

I have never been anywhere so crowded in my life. The lines for everything are way too long and you can hardly walk in any direction without being in a sea of people. (If you have any Covid crowd anxiety stay away. Most people wear masks but not all and you are really packed in tight inside while waiting to get on the rides. ) The rides were fun but the wait times and crowds really ruin the experience. The genie + and lightening lane worked well on a few rides but isn’t available for everything, which we understood beforehand. It’s annoying when it’s 11am and you want to use lightening lane for something to avoid the lines and the next time slots are 2pm or later and you can only book one lightening lane ride at a time. Also, as other reviewers said, the lines for food are no joke. You need to mobile order your food before lunch and dinner time or the wait is an hour +. Most people expect to pay an arm and a leg for food in the park but waiting an hour + for anything and everything is just a pain. It seems like everything is just a hassle and for the prices it should just be easier. Try grabbing a coffee, you’ll spend 45 minutes of your day in a 75 person line, it’s just a pain and it’s frankly not worth it.

We have been life long Disney fans and spend, on average, $5K per visit. However this time our experiences made my wife cry from sadness to see the place going to ….. Way too many people, unfair reservation services, three hour long lines for some attractions, reduced quality of service and resort rooms, and instead of fixing it, they make ridiculous claims and complain about their guests. On top of that, civil law suits for incorrect advertising of their benefits to key holders. After fifty years, we’ve had enough.

Visited Anaheim Disneyland April 7, 2022. We’re a family of Disney fanatics and have been many times before Covid. We found the park much changed.
Disney is limiting the amount of guests. Make sure you have reservations before going there. A one day, one park ticket varies in cost depending when you go. To avoid standing in long ride lines you need to purchase “Genie Service” for an extra $20 per person. We had 6 in our party for an additional $120 above the park tickets. Genie Service works similar to the old “fast pass” tickets which were free. The new Star Wars ride cost an additional $20 per person if you want to ride it.
Table Service restaurants get booked months in advance. If you can’t get a reservation you take a chance of going on a “wait list”. Do that when you first arrive for the best chance for a table service restaurant. You are required to hold the reservation with a credit card. No shows lose the holding fee. The other options are fast foods; burgers, pizzas, etc.
We found the majority of Disney cast members cold. They did their job and that’s it. The happy smiling faces are gone. I believe part of this is they’re overworked and paying guests are unable to get the service they once did so Disney cast members get the heat.
Not sure if Disney World is experiencing the same issues (yes we used to go there once a year too), but Anaheim Disney isn’t the park we once knew. Would we go back? Probably, but only when we have out of town visitors who always ask to go. But to go regularly as we once did, no. Not until Disney stops nickel and diming visitors and gets organized. Hopefully now that the pandemic is behind us Disney will get back to being the “Happiest Place On Earth” rather than the “Priciest Place On Earth”.

Just got back from Disneyland. For context I have been to Disneyland every even year for close to 16 years with the exception of Covid we went to Disney World. It was probably the worst time I have ever had. Yes inflation is real prices are always going up no fun. If your not comfortable with having your credit card info in a private app or using apps Disneyland is becoming unfriendly to you. Staff is not understanding if your not savvy with your phone. More rides broke down in the 4 days we were there then the past 16 years combined and only once (on rise of the resistance) did we get a lightning pass to come back after sitting in line for 150 minutes for a ride stated 65 min and the second breakdown was half way through the ride. Them return in stated hours to use lightning pass to find a line longer then a hour wait. 3 hours in I finally get on spider man stated 65 min wait. 3 attempts to splash mountain no go due to breakdowns after 30 to 40 min each time. You name the ride it was down multiple times. Then it rained 2 days in a row no worries a little water never hurt but all out door rides get shut down "what" between waiting in lines that were for rides that would not happen, three times longer then stated or the multiple people that were to large to ride but held up lines to wedge in then having to pulled out it was a never ending nightmare. Endless cutting from. Large groups who sent 1 or 2 people to multiple rides to stand in line to then have 5 or more join them when they were closer then half way to the front made lines not move. I tried to find a reason for all the trouble some locals said lack of staff, well if that is so why was there 4 people standing at doors to broken rides doing nothing. 3 people telling you they can't answer questions about restaurants you need to look on the app. 5 people walked around the steam train to move a stated piece of bamboo off the tracks for 30 min. At one food cart the person working was so obese they couldnt even get the cooler open while sitting on their stool until failing 3 times and they finally got up. Oh but wait if paying hundreds of dollars a day wasn't enough if you want to have a chance to ride everything in 2 to 4 days it can be done for a "small" extra fee for genies and lightening passes. Welcome to the "Spirit Airlines" of amusement parks where everything that used to be included now cost extra. Hoping this was a fluke but from many if the reviews this passed month it doesn't look like it. Also rules don't seem to apply to all. The web site stated no selfie sticks or wagon strollers with multiple people being told at my gate no only to find that multiple people having both everywhere you went. 😒

I accidentially double-purchased (already over-priced) tickets for my family and spent 4+ hours (same day) on hold pleading with various people to refund one set of tickets. They refused and just kept repeating their policy that the tickets are non-refundable. I have no respect for an organization that refuses to hear out its customers and have any flexibility from their rigid policy. There is almost no other industry that works this way. Even airlines always let you cancel purchased flights within 24 hours.

I can’t believe how much I miss the fast pass. At the moment Disney does not have anything but long lines. Their new system is not up and running and frankly I would NOT spend the money to travel to Disneyland if you don’t live in California.
It was impossible to get reservations at any restaurant you wanted. Disney is anything but Covid safe. Almost no-one wears a mask and, for example, for the fireworks they jam pack you in a tiny space.
I would also not recommend you spend the money for a Disney hotel. There is no extra magic hour, no guarantee of a place to sit for breakfast, and they do not enforce guests wearing masks in the hotel (most did wear masks in side).
Save your money and your trip for when Disney is back being magical. That simply is not right now. Did we have fun… Yes. Did we enjoy waiting hours for rides NO. My whole family enjoys Disneyland but I wouldn’t recommend going unless you live near and it is a day trip. I hope the new ride system fixed the problems.

Being an avid WDW fan, we chose to try a new park this year because the Halloween party at WDW had been significantly stripped back due to Covid. While Disneyland itself was charming and very walkable, the operations lacked in several areas:
Ticketing: the use of cell phones and paper tickets considerably slows down lines compared to magic bands. Each time we entered there was an issue ranging from devices running out of battery or running out of paper for ticket printing. Each time it added another 5-10 minute delay. Once we had to change turnstiles twice putting us late for a Rise of the Resistance boarding group.
Ride breakdowns: throughout the course of the day, you could watch open attractions going into “temporarily closed” status. Multiple times we waited in 45+ minute lines to have the ride breakdown as we were boarding (Indiana Jones, Roger Rabbit). Nothing was offered to us for the lost time and inconvenience.
Limited food offerings/timed mobile ordering: several kiosks weren’t open and the restaurant menus in PDF showed several more options than available in the app. If you didn’t plan lunch ahead for an hour or more, you couldn’t find anything but popcorn or cookies to eat.
No increased sanitation noticeable: beyond the hand sanitizing stations which were empty by early afternoon, I saw no increased sanitation or social distancing on a ride. None. This was very concerning to us. Masks were not consistently enforced and there were large gaps in areas where compliance was requested, eg She ace mountain has an indoor queue area that took twenty minutes to enter and leave and there were zero cast members or speaker announcements to wear a mask. Indiana Jones had three cast members throughout the queue reminding people to mask up.

How does the staff at Disneyland Park enforce “Social distancing enforced throughout experience”?
Thanks
Bret

They have to say that in order to make the state happy, but they are not actually enforcing social distancing. Some employees are wearing masks, some are not. Same with guests.

Yes reservations are required to enter either of the parks.
