    What to Expect
Escape the hustle of downtown Charlotte and enjoy the serenity of nature at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, Carolina’s garden for all seasons.

Begin a leisurely journey through this natural wonder away at the Visitor Pavilion.

The gardens are plentiful. The Four Seasons Garden provides a symphony of colors, shapes and textures. The Cottage Garden showcases the sweet scents of heirloom plants, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Canal Garden includes a 100-yard-long water feature, framed by a fountain at each end with new colors every season. That’s only a small sampling.

The Orchid Conservatory is the Carolina’s only glass house—8,000 square feet under five stories. Dedicated to the display of orchids and tropical plants, it’s a display of living, growing and ever-changing exhibits.

Before leaving, be sure to stop by the Garden Store, featuring a unique blend of local wares and botanically themed treasures.

Although my wife and I certainly appreciate the aesthetics of the Garden, our 2-year old grand daughter did not. But she did enjoy the open space, the smells, the colors, the water features and the fun of being outside.

The garden was lovely as usual even though the end of summer and heat had taken a toll. We were disappointed in the glass sculpture exhibit. It was repetitive as well as limited. Night viewing could have been more impressive.

My daughter and I went to the Daniel Stowe botanical gardens and we had a great time! It was a good walk through flower-filled gardens. The nice displays were well thought out and there is excitement as we saw that they were expanding the exhibit....More

This is a great place to stroll along the walking trails alongside fountains and gardens. There's a orchid conservatory that I wish had more orchids in. The butterfly tent (that you have to pay extra for) is nice especially because the lady inside is very...More

This was a wonderful suprise during my visit to Charlotte. I had a couple of hours and it was not enough to explore the gardens. I highly recommend a visit when you are in the area. The butterflies were everywhere.
