- HeatherBee5210 contributionsFantastic Experience! We took this tour in the quiet winter season and it was a trip highlight! Good, well-paced service, tasty meal, and gorgeous views from the Danube of Budapest. Cruise is 2.5 hours and goes back and forth o few times so you get multiple opportunities to see the beautiful buildings and take pictures. The live music added great background ambience and was not too loud or kitschy. If you are looking for a raucous booze cruise this is not it- but if you are in the mood for an elegant, relaxing evening, I highly recommend!Written 1 March 2025

Our one complaint: the boat front windshield had so much bird poop that it really detracted from the view. Would provide a nicer experience if crew could rinse off.Written 31 January 2025

A visit to Budapest would not be complete without a cruise along the river. There were many operators, but we found Legenda (Dock 7) to have what appeared to be the biggest operation with an indoor dock that others did not seem to have. We took the first evening cruise, 4:30pm, in late November. The roughly one-hour cruise was amazing with the city lit up beautifully.
The boat had 2 decks with headphones at each seat for an audio guide available in many languages. As it was cold out, the windows were closed, and most people stayed inside. There was a small outdoor section at the rear of the boat that only a handful of us were brave enough to sit in. To take great pictures, you will need to be outdoors to avoid reflection from the windows.
Despite being “off-season” in November, our boat was quite full and other times were sold out by the evening. You can buy tickets online or buy them at the dock for later times to ensure you have a spot. Most of the cruises were for the evening while there were only a handful during the day.

Among the many companies that provide the Danube cruise service in Budapest, I would definitely recommend this one from Legend City Cruises.
The staff was always smiling, the tour started and arrived on time and the drink that is offered on board was appreciable.
The only slightly negative note, the synchronization of the audio guide compared to the tour: a bit difficult to follow carefully, but the most important thing is to carefully admire the magnificence of the city.
Highly recommended the time of sunset and the first lights that come on for the dark.

We took a nighttime cruise on the Danube to admire Budapest's stunning landscape. It was a lovely experience, offering breathtaking views of the city's historic buildings beautifully illuminated. The cruise featured a TV guide in multiple languages, providing detailed information about the landmarks as we passed them. The trip lasted about an hour, and tickets sold out quickly, so booking many days in advance is a good idea. Overall, it was a worthwhile and memorable experience!

Disappointing Experience with Wingbuddy and CroisiEurope’s "Jewels of the Danube" River Cruise (Sept 25 - Oct 4, 2024)
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst cruises we have ever taken. I strongly recommend thoroughly reading reviews before booking any trip with Wingbuddy, a travel agency based in Montreal, Canada. While their official website shows only 4-5 star ratings, our experience was far from that.
We booked our trip well in advance in February 2024, which included flights, transportation, and hotel stays before and after the cruise. We paid 50% upfront. The day after booking, Wingbuddy sent our Air Canada flight tickets—without baggage included. This meant that each checked bag would cost us $85 per person for both the outbound and return flights. When I asked to cancel the package and receive a refund, I was informed it was impossible because the tickets had already been issued, despite Air Canada allowing refunds up to 24 hours before the flight. Their trip description says not including any baggage for a transatlantic flight ?!
There was no intention to fight.
A few weeks before the trip, Eastern Europe experienced flooding. Wingbuddy sent us the embarkation voucher and hotel/transportation information, but there was no mention of any disruptions. Only two hours before leaving for the airport in Toronto did we receive an "urgent" email informing us that the itinerary had changed. Instead of embarking in Vienna as planned, we would have to take a bus to Budapest, with the ship being replaced the following day. This meant we spent the second day of our trip on a four-hour bus ride to a hotel in Budapest, and then another bus trip the next day to a Hungarian village, only boarding the ship late in the evening. Two days of our cruise were lost.
We were fortunate the cruise happened at all—previous groups on the same itinerary had spent 9 days traveling by bus with just one day on the ship. Wingbuddy clearly knew about the situation well in advance and failed to notify customers, depriving us of the opportunity to cancel or reschedule. Their lack of transparency and communication is deeply concerning.
As for CroisiEurope, the cruise company, we were equally disappointed. Overall very poor customer service. Very non-caring, rigid. Food overall was unhealthy , especially the breakfast. The ship itself was in bad condition, with dirty carpets throughout and outdated furniture. I cannot recommend CroisiEurope; you're better off spending a little more for a higher-quality cruise experience.
The only positive aspect of the trip was the transportation, as the drivers were punctual and provided good service.
In conclusion, Wingbuddy's lack of transparency and communication, combined with CroisiEurope's non-quality service, made for a highly disappointing trip. Their primary focus seems to be on securing payments, with little regard for customer satisfaction or the quality of the experience. I would advise potential travelers to be cautious and consider other options.

It is a very comfortable and beautiful boat inside. Certain luxury. Glassed (but made of plastic material) so you can be inside and see the monuments. But to take photos from inside, the light is reflected from the plate/glass. If you want to be on the terrace you have to line up 40 minutes before as it is the first thing to fill up and it has about 20 seats (few for all the people who enter). If you don't arrive early, you'll be in the closed glass part. I go with the drink included. Red wine is very bad and champagne is average to bad. It doesn't take anything away from them to provide a low-medium priced wine, there are so many of them and they taste good. The audio guide goes on one side and the boat on the other. They do not give indications whether to the right or left. I wouldn't go there again because in the end they are €21 each and there are other €11 tours that don't include a drink or self-guide but for what they give on this boat I'll take the €11 one.

While visiting the city and the markets, we took an evening cruise on the Danube Legend company boat. We bought the ticket at 5pm explaining at the ticket office that we wanted to leave on the 6.30pm boat but instead the girl on her own initiative and without asking us had booked the 8.30pm tour, leaving us in the cold for three hours. Furthermore, when I asked to change the time, the girl at the ticket office screamed like a maniac, without any respect either for the tourist or even for the adulthood of those in front of her.
I recommend not going with this company due to the exaggerated prices and how they treat customers.

The cruise lasted an hour, departure and arrival very punctual on the riverside from pier no. 7. I found it very romantic, the boat is new and clean, very beautiful, the staff on board is very kind, they provide you with an audio guide where you can choose the language, it is equipped with a very large monitor from which you can they see the monuments and buildings that the boat is passing by but in the interior, and shortly after departure they offer a drink, a choice of prosecco, tonic water, beer, fruit juice. It was a beautiful experience, it's worth doing, you see the city from another perspective, with the bridges and main monuments illuminated at sunset and then in the evening (I chose the one at 7.30pm). Too bad for the young lady at the ticket office, very rude and unsympathetic, annoyed by the fact that I didn't speak English, despite the fact that I had had the tour booked directly by telephone by my guide and in Hungarian, just to avoid any misunderstandings.

We just returned from doing a night city tour with Legenda. The experience has been very bad, even though we were very excited after falling in love with the city during the four days we stayed and booking it as a final touch. The windows were very dirty or scratched, so to take photos you had to go outside for them to turn out fairly well, but the worst thing was the service, which spoiled the experience. As we entered they offered us drinks. We ordered two glasses of white wine (in English, both my husband and I speak it well) and when they were brought, they were red. We told them that it was not what we had ordered and they told us that we did not have white, so my husband kept the red one and I ordered a beer. Neither me nor the woman next to me was brought a drink and after spending a long time trying to get her attention, my husband got up to order the drink (the girls were talking to each other and eating, too busy to do anything). his work). Since they served it late, after a while they came to take it away and the drink was half full. The girl took the full tray and we thought she would come back for the rest since it seemed like she had a full tray, but finally I had to get up to take them myself. On the other hand, the cost of the tour (€21 per person for a one-hour tour) I understand is not enough for an excellent wine, but it should not be a worse wine than the cardboard ones either. To serve that, you look better if you don't offer it. In short, you see practically the same thing walking from the shore, so save the €21 and have a drink on a terrace, of which there are many and they are very pleasant.

The nighttime sightseeing cruise offered by Legenda City Cruises provided exactly what we were hoping to experience. The cruise lasts just over an hour. It leaves from its pier near Vigado Square and travels south well past the Liberty Bridge before turning around and heading north to just past the Hungarian Parliament Building before turning around again and heading back to the pier. The buildings illuminated at night were stunning. The A free drink is included and there are headphones at each seat proving a narration of the sights in many different languages. The boat is huge and accommodates several hundred people on both the upper and lower deck. However, we arrived about 15 minutes before our cruise and were practically the last to board. The entire top deck which offers the best views was a full as were all the seats along each side of the lower deck. We had to settle for a seat in the middle which was okay for most of the cruise. I was still able to get some great photos by simply getting up occasionally from my seat and standing in the back of the boat which offered unobstructed views of the sights along the river. The lesson to share is to arrive well before your departure time and join the queue.

We were there 30min before admission and there were already about 15 people in line. Soon it was a queue of probably 25-30 people as a group of other tourists rushed past everyone and formed their own queue with 0 respect to the already waiting people. The two girls/women present, who worked here, also did nothing to hints from the waiting people but reacted cheekily “how am I supposed to know who was here when”, although they watched everything.
So the mood was directly bad and there was pushing and arguing.
The drinks on board were received at maximum listlessness. The ride itself was good, the audio guide interesting, but definitely not worth over 20Chf per person. I would have paid a maximum of 10.
I would NOT RECOMMEND this tour due to the lack of interest and disrespect of the staff as well as the far too high price!

What is the difference between the £17.73 night time cruise & the £21.10 night time cruise? Both include one drink. Do they both have a bar on board that you can buy extra drinks if required?
Written 18 January 2025
I'm not sure to be honest, can't remember how much we paid
We only got one drink & they don't serve you with another. We found the cruise very good. It wasn't over full. You could sit where you wanted, no hassle. We really enjoyed it, especially at night.

Unfortunately, we coudln't make it on time. Can we use the same ticket at different time, or we have to re-buy them?

I think you have to use it within 24hrs of activating/using your ‘all round ticket’.
Maybe check with a hotel reception or a member of staff. Sorry I can’t help more.
