Petra was the lovely tour guide who took me on the shorter tour (2 hours). She was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable; her English was great. We spent time in the synagogue, looking at the features, understanding the history of the Jewish community in Budapest. We then had time in the Jewish museum next door where there were beautiful Jewish artifacts and English explanation on quite a lot so you could read more about the items you were interested in.
Lastly, we looked in the memorial gardens of those whose lives had been taken, the Tree of Life and a stained glass monument to Sir Nicholas Winton.
Well worth the visit, I only had two hours to spare otherwise I would have carried on with Petra to find out more about the culture on the extended tour.

This Jewish Heritage Walking tour was amazing and this thanks to Benjamin and his deep knowledge of Jewish history and traditions. Through anecdotes, references to religion and various explanations as for Jewish people and their survival during the war, we were all fascinated and didn’t even notice the three hour tour.
Thank you Benjamin . You are welcome any Time in Troyes, city where Rachi used to live and work.

We took the deluxe tour, and it fully met our expectations. Petra was a great guide, very knowledgeable on the history of the Jewish community, the three synagogues that we visited and the Jewish Ghetto She clearly enjoyed being our guide. Her English language command was very good. We were not rushed from location to location, and she was able to answer almost all our questions.

Just returned from Budapest did this tour on Sunday we completed the first part in 2 hours and 8 of us stayed on for the extended tour. Unfortunately this only lasted 45 mins which was not what was advertised! Should have paid the cheaper price and done 2 hours!!!

I booked a walking tour of the Jewish Quarter of Budapest. Instead of the walking tour we were given a tour of the Dohany Utca Synagogue and a guided tour of the museum. The entrance fee to the Synagogue and museum (including a guided tour of the synagogue) is 4000 forint (approximately,
$14.50 per person) I paid $29.00 per ticket for four tickets under the assumption that it was a tour of the Jewish Quarter as per the confirmation. Basically, the entrance fee to the Dohany Utca Synagogue provides the same tour for half the price.
The tour of the museum was totally misleading. The person conducting the tour does not seem to be familiar with Jewish practice and made quite a few incorrect representations of Jewish practice.

We were totally misled by the ad for this tour and disappointed in the tour itself. I would discourage anyone interested in the Jewish Quarter of Budapest from taking this tour.

We were two over age 60 couples who went on the full walking tour. The guide was understandable, interesting and knowledgeable. The only negative was that the group included a couple of folks who were not up to the walking - this slowed us down and detracted from the experience. A must do for anyone interested in the Jewish aspects of the city.

Some friends of ours had gone to Budapest and visited the Jewish quarter on their own and were satisfied. However, we were happy we had the guide since they added a lot of information and understanding to the tour and eliminated any navigational challenges.

This was an eye-opening experience. Very well done tour balancing the history and beauty of the Great Synagogue with the horrors of the Nazi era and the tragedies that occurred there.
